Very new, very very immaculate, friendly, helpful staff in a charming urban village surrounded by many delightful places for dining. So why not totally satisfied with the one evening stay? The queen sized beds have fantastic mattresses and super lovely, comfy bedding, really great pillows! Nice desktop and chair plus an impressive number of outlets for charging any and all tech devices. And the size of the flat screen TV is unheralded in most moderate hotels. Nice configuration of the bathroom essentials with, at long last, nice, soft nightlight for those dark overnight hours. Very clever sliding panel door moves easily and quietly doubling as closet door/bathroom door as needed. All in all, contemporary, compact but cozy. So the very classic and oftentimes most common quest complaint, extremely, excessively loud air conditioning unit at the heart of a most unrestfull night! I made the decision to make the best of it and did not speak with the remarkable young woman on the evening desk because there really were no good options to solve the issue which would have further disrupted the night. The problem was reported the next morning and it was good to have received a concerned expression of regret from our morning desk clerk. We enjoyed many aspects of our stay and we definitely will book there again. Breakfast was what has become the expected standard but all the food was nicely presented and the terrific Hostess was taking the job seriously, constantly cleaning and resupplying. Weekend serving hours seem a bit tight, closing at 10 am, effective in disappointing at least 2 families with young children who arrived just moments after the service closed. Just wishful that another half-hour could be added for the weekender guests looking forward to a late morning without stressing over making sure to meet yet another deadline! In retrospect, almost every aspect of the stay was positive and I have little doubt that if informed of the air conditioning problem, the Hampton staff would have made every effort to solve the issue. I made the decision to cope and not disrupt others in the very early hours of an otherwise peaceful...
Read moreI stayed here while on business travel for a nearby government contractor in the Research Park area. Overall, the staff and accommodations were top notch, with one very important exception - housekeeping.
When I arrived at my room, I unpacked, got comfortable, and went out for dinner. I woke up early the next morning and when I got in the shower, I noticed a bunch of hair on the walls of the tile in the shower. I was so late for work that I didn't have time to call the desk to complain about it, but it was obviously a problem that had been growing over time. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that there were at least seven hairs from three different people on the shower wall. Two of them were short, jet-black, and curly/kinky. Another two were blond-ish and very long. Another few were mid-length and brownish. All of them were at eye level so they were all presumably hairs from various people's heads. Additionally, the hotel is brand new - open for only a few months, but the tile in the shower wall was separating/cracking. Lastly, every single time I used the toilet for more than a "number one," the toilet clogged. This happened twice during my stay (the only two times I needed to use it for such activities). Even the front desk agent mentioned to me that they get a lot of calls for unclogging toilets. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary and I didn't "blow it up" so to speak, so my best guess is that it's either bad design or poor water pressure or something.
Beyond these problems, everything else was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The free breakfast food quality was better than I've had at other Hampton Inns. The staff was accommodating, friendly, and helpful.
Retrain your housekeeping staff, and replace the poorly designed toilets, and I'd give you five stars...
Read moreThis was positively the worst hotel stay I had. Most of which I will note was outside of the hotels control.
Let’s start with the basics (and I am reviewing as a Hilton Diamond member who spends several months a year at Hilton properties per year).
Location is good steps away from Taco Mama, Furniture Factory, Grille 29, Moes BBQ, Mellow Mushroom, and Edgar’s.
Parking is poor: limited parking
Lobby :Nice and inviting
Room: Nice room modern
Arriving: Staff gets an F! The lady at the front desk told the man in front of me who complained about parking to park in the diamond member spots they don’t check on those, so I had to go find a parking spot because he took the last Diamond member parking spot not being a Diamond member. Then I was not greeted and thanked for being a Diamond member or given waters or anything which is standard for Diamond members. I did see bags left at others doors m, so I will guess they are just hit or miss with their processes.
Our room was nice but the shower and the toilet were dirty. Housekeeping definitely rushed. They also left 1 towel 1 wash cloth and 1 hand towel, this is the first I have ever seen this. Our window was perfect aligned with the window of the hallway of the adjacent building so everyone walking down the hall could look straight in our room if our shade was opened, needless to say we had no natural light.
The stay:
Keep in mind the hotel cannot control this. The hotel is extremely loud, we were kept up all night by the conversations of people in other rooms, the music at the Furniture Factory, and the cars going through providence all night.
This is a nice hotel, but if you are trying to sleep or get rest you will not get it on...
