Taco Mama - Providence — Restaurant in Huntsville

I was excited about trying the tacos here. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. When you come in, you make your order, the give you a number and bring the food to your table. I like that concept because you won't have to wait on your server. I believe my food was brought to my table about 10 minutes, no more than 15 minutes, after ordering. I ordered the Alabama Redneck, The Sizzler, and the Justice Is Served shrimp taco. I ordered the fried founder Justice is Served taco, as well, but my server didn't put in the order. I also ordered the Watermelon Margarita because it's seasonal. My friend and I both thought that the tacos where underwhelming. The meat and the guac had absolutely no taste.... very bland. It was disappointing because they looked really good and the combinations were so appealing. However, the Watermelon Margarita was really good. It's not a sweet drink at all because they use fresh watermelon, but it was VERY refreshing. I don't think I'll be back, but they also sell other items that I'd be willing to try if...

My brother took me here to give this place a try because he enjoys it so much and let me tell you Taco Mama did NOT disappoint! This place is located in a great little part of town with indoor and outdoor seating. The food was phenomenal! I got the build your own taco with chicken and they were soooo good! My brother got the same but with steak and his looked just as good and I will be trying the steak next time for sure. The meat was so flavorful and packed FULL! They don't skimp when it comes to the meat which as a consumer I really appreciate! The service was outstanding! We sat outside and generally when I've sat outside at places you feel forgotten but that was not the case here. They (multiple people) would pop out just to check on us and see if we needed anything. They also came and cleared our trays for us when they saw us about to do it ourselves. We weren't sure so we were gonna clear it ourselves just in case but they beat us to it because as soon as we stood up to leave they came out and got our stuff for us! Highly...

I'm not sure where all the high reviews are coming from. To be upfront I had just tacos and guacamole last night so maybe I'm just an outlier. But the food was not appetizing at all. The tuna in the ahí tuna tacos was grossly undercooked. It was more sushi like. The texture was akin to a semi hard jello. The sizzler taco was no better. The cooking of the meat was on the opposite side of the spectrum. It was overcooked to a bland taste and tough texture. The guacamole was also bland lacking cilantro and lime juice. The staff was friendly so I have nothing bad to say there except the seemingly inexperienced cashier opened up a lite Corona when I actually asked for s regular Corona. When I pointed this out she stated "Sorry but that's all we have" after which I pointed to the fridge where there were several bottles of regular Coronas. She did offer to exchange it but I hated to waste the beer already opened and told her to not worry about it. I should have gone to Chipotle. At least there I know what I'm...
