We made our reservations in October for New Years eve and New Years nights. I called to see about checking in early. It was then that I was informed that we couldn't get ajioning rooms. To help correct the situation the hotel told us they would make one of the rooms a s suite and they would put us on the first floor next to each other. My comment was what happens if this changes when we get there. We were assured we were locked in and it wouldn't happen. When we arrived we were told one of our rooms was rented out the night before and they didn't have anyone to clean it. We ended up on third floor!!! We weren't told anything about issues so to covid like no one to clean rooms, bring towels, take care of trash, or anything for that matter. No makes were worn by any staff. When I called down and asked for towels I was told I needed to come down and get them. I took care of cleaning my room, getting rid of my trash, and going down for my towels. The hall ways were cold and so was the pool. The pool was clean and looked good but we couldn't stay long because it was to cold to enjoy it. We had to wait for eggs and bacon which left waffles or pancakes. After making them we were informed there wasn't any syrup left and that there was only one bottle to begin with. ( If it were my business I would have gone to a store and bought some.) We really tried to make the best of things but there were just too many negatives. When we called and talked to the general manager she informed us we had gotten an additional discount. No one informed us of this and our price was we paid was no different than what we were told at the time we made our reservation. I guess the discount was the suite we were given.( It didn't matter if we had a suite or regular rooms.) That was given because we didn't get ajioning rooms. Nothing was done about being moved to third floor or having to do our...
Read moreI recently stayed at a hotel in Hutchinson and wanted to share my experience. Initially, I was assigned a room that had a moldy smell, which was quite unpleasant. However, the staff at the front desk were accommodating and promptly relocated me to a different room, which was significantly better and free from any musty odors.
Although the second room was an improvement, I did notice some cleanliness and maintenance issues in the bathroom. The toilet appeared to have been poorly cleaned, there was old floss on the floor, and the shower had drainage problems, resulting in water backing up. Additionally, I discovered a loose screw in the bar holding up the curtain, which was concerning.
On a positive note, the hotel offered a satisfying breakfast with a good variety of food options. I didn't have the chance to utilize the pool, but it appeared well-maintained and inviting. The fitness room also seemed decent, although it lacked a sufficient amount of equipment.
One aspect I appreciated was the presence of a convenient concession stand area near the front desk. This allowed easy access to snacks and drinks. However, I was surprised to find out that there was a charge of $30 to use the safe in the room, as this is not something I have encountered in my previous hotel stays.
In terms of location, the hotel is situated on the Northside of town, close to the downtown area. This provides easy access to the city's attractions and amenities, which is a definite advantage.
Overall, I would categorize this hotel as "okay." However, considering the issues I encountered, I did not feel that I received my money's worth for the rate of $150 per night. Moreover, I was surprised to find that this hotel is one of the most expensive options in Hutchinson. I believe there is room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and maintenance, particularly in...
Read morewe had made family plans 3 months before our family get together over a weekend at this place as many family members are surrounded around Hutchinson. Very important to us.. We were assigned joining rooms and quote. They called a week before and bounced us to a 1st floor set up not joining. To late for us to change plans now. we get there on check in date and once AGAIN, they now put us on 3rd floor. Another kick in the face. Now over this 2 night stay we had NO MAID SERVICE, we had to get towels ourselves, take garbage out, and refill coffee pots. Breakfast had no syrup for waffles, orange juice was like colored water, and asking lady at desk to refill forks, egg and bacon, and coffee pot as she was checking ppl out was not a good time. Complained to General Manager and she points finger at everything but herself for mismanagement. She says the suite prices were $30 some dollars more, if you could see what they call a suite you wouldn't want it, a a 5x5 open space with a TV that only 2 ppl can watch. Terrible presentations of a suite. we spent $616 for the 2 rooms, 2 nights at a 4 star hotel and received 1 star service. Manager had opportunity to make things right but chose not, just point fingers . False representation of what you pay for and what we got. We had been in 9 other hotels in the past 6 months and never had this disappointment in...
