Our first River House restaurant adventure 7-16 2023 , I called the day before ,Saturday and spoke to a young man and asked about the accommodations at the restaurant is the upper deck available and he said yes he could tell I was an older gentleman he said the elevator was available I said thank you and can I get a nice steak and he said absolutely . On Sunday Carol the mother of our nine children and two of our daughters One from Apple Valley and one for edina pick me up at HarmonyRevers Living Center. We arrived at 3:45 . On entering I asked the very Nice maître d’ We’d like to go up to the second floor to elevator and she replied we are not serving on that second deck we do not have enough staff that’s surprised me on a Sunday she said yes I apologize . my daughter’s said dad will just sit here by the windows on the first floorDining area .The exceptionally personable waitress was taking our orders my daughter’s ordered Walleye their mother ordered beautifully cooked pork chop. Now I asked for a 12 ounce or the Porter house steak I was looking forward to that and to my surprise the waitresses replied we do not have 12 ounce. now their is only one 8 ounce steak Available only one because our supply has not come in ,well what a surprise that was to me I thought all restaurants would have what’s listed on the menu that is the first time ever heard that in my 86 years. I asked will the chef be able to cook that as I would like it medium rare and she why’d he is an excellent chef ,I took her word for that and lo and behold when our food arrived my steak was absolutely delicious and the other orders were absolutely delicious . My daughters and there mother discussed that we would come back again but ( I would absolutely check to see if the deck is open the second floor is open and if there’s enough food available for what we would order. sincerely Charles Markert resident at Harmony rivers...
Read moreI came here with a friend for dinner. The service was very questionable. For starters, our waitress never refilled either of our drinks, she forgot my order and had a check with me as she never wrote it down, she served a customer food that had ranch spilled in it and she never came by to ask if we needed the check we had to get it from somebody else. Things that she did that work great she explained that the side salad was a smaller salad, she seemed very nice and she told us all the specials, which was great. Overall, the thing I cannot forgive is serving a customer food that had other food spilled on top of it. She was walking to our table and my ranch for my salad spilled onto the mac & cheese dish my friend ordered. Instead of immediately bringing it to the kitchen and getting a new thing of mac & cheese she said “Hey, do you mind the ranch spilled in there?” She put my friend who is shy on the spot so she felt like she had to say it was fine. A customer should never be offered food that had something else spilled in it. What’s even worse is the person who got the mac & cheese hates ranch. She is the only Minnesotan I know that does not like ranch. The vibes the waitress gave was eat around it. Which you don’t want when you go to a nice restaurant. I’m not a fan of mac & cheese, but to make her meal enjoyable I had to eat her ranch covered noodles as I recommended the restaurant. I’m disappointed as last time I came here the service was pretty great and the food was also good. Tonight, I got a salad and the salad itself was really good. I had the cheese substituted out as I don’t like cheddar. The homemade ranch was absolutely great on the salad. Overall, the customer service could really use some...
Read moreI’ve been here three times now, once for dinner and twice for breakfast. Breakfast is by far the way to go. My husband and I came for dinner. He ordered a side salad as an appetizer because he was pretty hungry. What came out was laughable and my husband referred to it as “a kids salad.” It was definitely the smallest side salad we had ever seen and not much effort put into it besides a little bit of Parmesan cheese and a few croutons. My husband got the blackened chicken Alfredo and thought it was alright but said it didn’t really taste they blackened to him. I got the turkey club sandwich with fries. The sandwich was good but as someone else said in a previous review, the fries are garbage. The two times I’ve came for breakfast have been fabulous though. I’ve ordered the country Belgian waffle and that has been super good. People I’ve dined with have gotten the lemon ricotta pancakes and regular Belgian waffle and loved them. Service has been great each time as well. Definitely a new breakfast spot for the husband and I. Don’t think we will be back for dinner...
