Oh boy...where to start? What a fiasco! From start to finish. Checked in for three nights. Three people with three suitcases and etc. NO DRAWERS OR SHELVES in the room. I was told by the clerk at the desk that the only rooms that had drawers were suites and they were all taken. (There were four cars in the parking lot, including employees!) The heat/air conditioner did not work. I was told that there was no one there that could fix it. Went back the next morning after a horrible hot night of no sleep and talked to the Manager, Nick. He stated that he was not an expert and actually commented that since the housekeeper was a long with us, "maybe she was an expert and able to fix it??!!" Poor girl was trying to help. No one EVER came to check on the thermostat or anything to do with the issue. Unfortunately, they had no one to repair. We were locked out of our room (and there are two entry doors to this room) not once, but on two separate occasions. One of the door locks was NEVER fixed. Again, "unfortunately, Nick the manager was already there that morning and she did not want to call him again. There were no curtains on the double doors so you could NOT darken the room at night. The hallway lights shined through all night. We were told that unfortunately, the curtains were all short. WHAT curtains? Besides the uncontrollable heat in the room, the hallway lights brightening up the room like a light in your face all night, the neighbors were almost like in our room. We heard every conversation, them using the bathroom and using the microwave. We went to the desk again and were told yes, unfortunately the walls were paper thin. We asked for a laundry bag for our dirty clothes...and they do not have laundry bags!! This for a discounted rate of $110 per nite!! And there were NEVER more than 5 cars in the parking lot except on New Year's Eve when the restaurant and bar were full. The same clerk working the desk use "unfortunately" every time we came to her with a problem. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good night's sleep or try to talk to anyone, including the manager, Nick about your concerns. It won't get...
Read moretl;dr Stacy’s got it going on! She stuck in there with me until it all worked out. I don’t know how they would survive there without her.
Every other hotel where I stay always emails me my folio/receipt/checkout but this one, and I travel a lot and stayed in some places I wish I didn’t. This particular hotel somehow lacks the ability to send you your receipt. They can send you your confirmation all day long, but not your receipt.
I called Stacy the first time my expense report was rejected for turning in my check in with my signature because it wasn’t my final bill and my accounting department likes it when we jump through fiery hoops. Stacy immediately sent me my receipt and said it takes 10 minutes for me to receive it. I love that quirky Midwest dialect, and I especially love the way they use their words. 10 minutes in Midwest speak usually means more like 5 minutes, but this time it meant never.
I called back 2 days later when I remembered I wasn’t getting reimbursed, and I got Stacy again! This time, she was determined “you have to get paid back!” She emailed me again, only this time she accidentally sent me the confirmation, which came through immediately! Alas, that would not work. She sent it to my alternate address, still no luck.
TIL, Days Inn Hutchinson can’t send your checkout folio receipt to any email that is even remotely related to or forwarded to anything Gmail. (If you tell me to check my Spam folder, so help me 😂😂😂 No, it was not there.)
Stacy stayed on the line with me this time. “Something’s got to work!” She sent it to my wife’s yahoo email, and voila! It came through immediately! Use your yahoo...
Read moreAt first this seemed like a good place to bring our kids for a night away. Unfortunately once we were checked in it started going downhill, my stepson is disabled and in a wheelchair, this was told to the front desk person and we were told they didnt have a handicap accessible room available, I guess this is possible, but then they said they didnt have a room available at all on 1st floor, also possible I suppose, but then thw room we got was on the 2nd floor and we find out that there is NO ELEVATOR in this hotel at all! This was a nightmare because we needed to carry her son up and down the stairs to and from the room AND to and from the pool , AND to and from breakfast. Needless to say it was horrible. Also the channel guide in the room says there is 51 or 52 channels not 1 channel worked in the room, and the room had no toilet paper in the bathroom, and the room was super small and very old and dated decor. The poolroom had about half of the ceiling covered in black mold and was very dingy and dark. And the pool chairs were extremely used up and had rust all over them and were screaming tetnus to me as I sat in them.... I will add tho that there were 2 things that saved this hotel from zero stars and one was a hotel worker found my sons wallet that he misplaced and retutned it to him, and another hotel worker assisted my girlfriend with her son ans helped carry some things and his wheelchair to our vehicle. Hence the...
