Read moreI acknowledge that my rating is much lower than most, but I can only speak to my experience in Room 7 for one night. Check-in was easy with the door code. I did send a text to the number that gave me directions for checking in with a request for info, but did not receive a response. The unit was very clean and spacious. So large that the rather small furnishings (other than the king bed) seemed out of scale, leaving large, wasted open areas. There is a very small table with two chairs, small side chair, mini-fridge, and a ridiculously tiny microwave. Not large enough for a typical carryout container or even a bag of popcorn. The unit appears to be furnished for fashion, not function. The bathroom is likewise quite roomy with a nice shower. But despite having lots of room, there is a sink but no vanity. No room for toiletries at all. There is a large window overlooking a dilapidated residential area to the west. My biggest complaint is the entry door. There are side light windows on both sides with frosted glass. There are no window coverings and there is a security light right outside the door. The room was washed in light all night. And since the door faces east, as soon as the sun rose, sleep was not an option. (Also, the deadbolt lock does not work.) There is no ice machine available for guests which I found disappointing. I applaud the owners for their attempt to renovate a very old property and make it viable again. There are only a handful of units in this building and some may be more desirable, but I cannot recommend #7 in any way. Idaho Springs has a very small "downtown" section of shops for tourists, but mostly is a very rundown, depressed area, especially along Business 70, where this property is located. The highlight of the stop was the restaurant next door, Marion's of the Rockies. Despite being very short staffed, they served an...
