Idaho Springs Motel — Hotel in Idaho Springs

We were traveling to Idaho Springs and thought we might need to get a reservation in advance for the night. I called my daughter in Texas to look on the computer and try and find us a room. She found this motel listed and thought it would be ok....wrong!!! When I called to get a room held for us, the lady who spoke broken english told me due to it being a Saturday she would have to charge us in advance. I gave her our credit card info, when we arrived I was shocked to see the most rundown, trashed out dump I had ever experienced. Mobid curiousity made me ask to see the room. I could only open the door to the room and stand on the outside and look in. The carpet was so stained and nasty the room was filthy and stunk, the room right next door had their door open and it was disgusting, the really sad part was that it had a baby stroller sitting outside its door. I thought how could anyone have a baby in such a place! I went back to the office and asked to have my money refunded and of course was told there was no refund. You could not have paid me any amount of money to stay at this place. After leaving I could not shake the absolute disgusting feeling I had! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE CONDEMED BY THE...

Terrible! Mina (the owner) is a slumlord. Most of the permanent residents are meth heads. On any given night some residents of her hovel can be observed outside ranting and raving, destroying property, making threats of bodily harm, etc. I am a 39 year native of Idaho Springs and know her and her terrible business well...as does law enforcement. Every review that you read regarding her casino problem, bedbugs, and terrible service is absolutely 100% accurate. The Bearadise motel next door has come under newer more accountable ownership, and has been renovated. I highly recommend the Bearadise! I wouldn't send my worst enemy to the Idaho Springs motel, even if I were paid to do so. If I could leave a zero star review, I would. NOT A PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN. As a matter of fact, she doesn't even allow children on the property. It should also be noted that during a past attempt at helping her renovate a room there last year, she tried to scam the city out of money, did not file for a building permit, and absolutely REFUSED to bring the building up to code, nor was she interested in replacing century old lead pipes. AVOID THIS PLACE...

ITS ONE OF THE BETTER PLACES IVE STAYED AT , CLEAN ROOMS THE PLACE IS A BIT RUSTIC, BUT THATS PART OF BEING IN THE MOUNTANS. ITS PEACEFUL AND A PLACE YOU DONT HAVE TO EMPTY YOUR WALLET. ROOM A CHEAP $ 50 TO $70 BUCKS FOR A ROOM. ANY PLACE AROUND HERE IS $ 120 TO $ 180 FOR A PLACE TO SLEEP AND SHOWER .. NOT EVERYONE HAS MONEY TO THROW AWAY.. AND TO BE HONEST THE OWNER MINA HAS BEEN A PART OF THIS TOWN FOR A LONG TIME. AND SHE REALLY DOSE CARE.. ALOT OF PEOPLE WOULD HAVE HAD TO LIVE ON THE STREETS SO SHE KEEPS HER RATES DOWN SO PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE ALOT OF MONEY HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE AND GET BACK ON THEIR FEET.. AND HOWS SHE REPAYED BY SOME PEOPLE THAT SHE HAS SEEN DOING BAD THING AND TOLD TO LEAVE. SO TO HURT HER THAY OFFTEN GET BACK AT HER BY HURTING THE MOTEL SO THAY ARE NOT EVER ALLOWED BACK. , FOR BEING THE ONLY WOMAN TO OWN HER OWN PLACE AND DO WHAT SHE CAN TO KEEP IT.. IM SURE IT HASNT BEEN EASY. ANY HOME OWNER KNOWS , AND THEN ADD A FEW HUNDRED PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLES PROPERTY.
