I called this afternoon and made a reservation with Laurie who works at the front desk.... She asked for my name and I even spelt it out for her I let her know it was going to be a few hours before I made it in to check in to the room she said that was fine... I had reserved the last room at the microtel... I just left the Microtel because I went in to check in and the lady at the desk said that there were no rooms ..I let her kno that I did make a reservation and she said that laurie obviously did not make the reservation like she said she had... She claimed to be calling a few ppl that had made reservations early on in the day but have yet to show up for check in but she never did that. Instead she called her manager RICK! Let me tell you all a little something about this man!!!! He should have never been aloud to work in customer service!!! He acts more like a dumb child than a manager of a hotel!! He got on the phone with me and proceeded to argue with me telling me that he had been "working" that whole day and that he does not remember me calling to make the reservation..... DUH!!! How would he if I never talked to you??!!!??? He argued and argued while I was in tears with him trying to plead that I did indeed make the reservation... He said exactly this "WE DONT HAVE ANY ROOMS LEFT. We will tomorrow come back then!" If I needed the room tomorrow then I would not have made the reservation and been there today!!! I asked him for his bosses name and phone number and he said "I'm not allowed to give that information out" .....OK well who are the unhappy and mistreated customers suppose to go to about their concerns and complaints when the manager treats ppl like that?? Have never had a company let alone a manage refuse to give that information out!! I am very unhappy with how I was treated today and now I have no place to sleep or stay for the night now BC every single hotel room is taken in this whole town! I will never ever use this hotel Ever again!!! BEWARE of a mean disrespectful argumentive child man here...
Read moreWhere to start. For living situations we stayed at the hotel for about 7 months. We had a nice stay, housekeepers were sweet, very caring, and did a tremendous job cleaning and stocking rooms. The hotel overall was a nice place to be and the front desk people are usually very respectful. But there is a couple of things I didn't like about our stay. I didn't have our cards on auto pay and it was supposed to be set up where I went to have the card swiped so I knew when it was being charged. Well the manager Lori charged my card three different times for $500 and one for $250 and failed to tell me. The way she does it is on receipts they keep has the card number so she can just type it in and charge it. I had to go through the fraud department to get it back. Another is the safety problems with the hotel. Once the maintenance guy was downstairs talking and I was there and the manager told him to just get a new face plate for an outlet and not leave a note to let people know there was a small electrical fire, and if somone plugged something in it would happen again. She just wanted it to look pretty. The other safety problem was the doors. There is a main door, front door, back door, and side door. The front, side, and back are supposed to have a keycard entrance so not just anybody can walk in well...they are broken and have been since we checked in, in November! Another problem is the breakfast. I have spoke with some of the workers to find out that many of the breakfast items are expired. According to a worker the manager instead of buying fresh condiments, and foods she will have them being used even if expired. Jellies, butters, some friut, and bagels are a few things that i was told are expired. To not have the expiration dates shown the manager puts the condiments and stuff in other unmarked boxes and throws the others away so knobody will know the expiration date. But now knowing all of this i think people should know. I would recommend the hotel for comfort. But not if your looking for a safe, and...
Read moreThis is my second stay in a 7 day period for a business trip down to Texas and back. I was late checking in for my initial one night stay last week due to my GPS giving me 'the scenic tour' but had no trouble with my reservation. The staff is friendly & helpful (both night desk clerk and the two working the front desk the next day) and the room was clean & comfortable. I messed up my reservation for tonight and didn't realize I had managed to reserve one if the few rooms without a refrigerator. Because I actually need one, I asked for a room change before I had unpacked and was able to have the room switched without any fuss!😃 It is an older hotel but the front desk staff are really good. The bed, sheets, pillows and towels are very clean but whoever mops the bathroom floors may need to have their vision checked - the bathroom light fixtures provide a dim light so that could also be the reason for the floors not being spotless - hard for cleaning staff to really see. The counters are older too so they are clean but age has added it's own discoloration that someone could initially mistake as not being wiped down although I've never seen any dirt in the sink areas either time. The breakfast last week had several hot options as well as cold along with various juices and coffee. At check-in tonight, the front desk clerk reminded me of their breakfast times but mentioned they will only have coffee available due to some sort of water source in the front area being under repair so I'll find out tomorrow what is available.😉 All said, I obviously liked it enough last week to pick it...
