Ok, I usually read reviews to see if I want to go somewhere and usually find no helpful info. So with that said. I shall write a review that will hopefully give you more info than their website.

Let's start with the pool. The pool is located in front of the main office. Its rather small but great for little kids to enjoy. It has a small seating area around the pool to chill.

RV site. The Premium sites are located near the bank of the river and extremely close to each other. Fire rings have no grill, so bring your own if you plan to cook out. Shade from trees are excellent. However if you book a non premium site, bring a canopy. River access from premium sites is kind of yucky because of overgrown Lilly pads and the mud. I recommend going to the bridge for easy and clean access. Oh yeah...No shade by the river.

There are a lot great little spots around the property that look amazing. The place they call "The Eye" is a swimming hole with good flowing water. Starting at the eye water flows down into another swimming hole. You can actually go down it with a tube. At your own risk. But it's fun!

You can fish anywhere on the property. Didn't catch a thing.

Restroom are clean, hot showers look nice and have A/C. Downfall is only 2 showers and 2 stalls for each restroom for entire property, but if you have an RV then this is not an issue for you. If you plan to tent camp on the island the nearest restroom is a port o potty.

Note: Don't expect to see wildlife like deers, rabbits, racoons. It's a bit too domesticated for that. Flies are bad when cooking. Fire wood and ice is available at the main office just make sure you get it by 5pm. Please keep in mind that you are very close to your nieghbors so the occassional loud noise, bright light, roudiness may occur. The quiet time is more of a courtesy than a rule. You may also get a visit by other guest dogs and the occasional howling/barking. Besides that real nice and friendly staff. I will post pics on here....

By the River is a beautiful campground. Just to sit and relax in the shade, walk along the river "inlet" and enjoy the HUGE shade trees, deer, ducks and geese was wonderful. The camp host were gracious and when we had a complaint about a barking dog, addressed it right away! On that note, if you have a dog(s) and plan on leaving daily like people in #7 (Apr 28-May 1) for excursions, please know that your dogs barked incessantly from the moment you left. If you are going to be gone most of the time, you might want to consider leaving your dogs at home so that the rest of us can enjoy our time at the RV Park. Thank you to BTR for addressing our problem and making apologies for you. ||||Just a note to future campers, all sites do not have grills as stated on the website, in fact only tent sites have grills. We just went into town (only about 15 minutes) and purchased a cheap tabletop charcoal grill, it worked out fine. We also did not have a fire ring at our site, it was gone for some reason, but there was probably a burn ban anyway. The sites are pretty close with shared electricity/water poles unless you upgrade to a larger site which we might do next time, but each site does have full hook-ups. We do wish we could pick our site and know the site prior to arrival like other parks to avoid having to "check in", but BTR seems old school in this regard. Not a biggie, just something they might want to consider in the future. Making a reservation online wasn't easy and we ended up just calling. Person at park did answer right away--unlike other parks and was extremely helpful! ||||All and all we give the park a 5/5 for its beauty and graciousness of hosts. We will go again whenever we are in the area. Thank you...

Caught Sue Glenna (office personnel/ resident site 52) exiting my camper upon my return from eating Nextdoor at “The Crazy Hay Barn” with my family. Sue Glenna’s justification for entering my home was that my dogs were barking and that they belonged inside. It was a perfect 69 degrees outside. We were next door to her I later found out. She didn’t like the barking. Doubtful any complaints at all between 8-9:30. They rarely bark unless someone is walking up. I didn’t press charges. Certainly didn’t want to put my 10 yr old through that. Didn’t want him to have to feel like he had something to do her going to jail by making a statement as a witness. We were having a good time up to that point until finding the woman creeping out of our travel trailer. After speaking with Officer Ruiz with Ingram PD, he confirmed at minimal she would face criminal trespassing if I did press charges. My game warden brother in law didn’t even know the new “no chain law”. However, Officer Ruiz confirmed I did nothing unlawful after reviewing the law with me. When the groundskeeper was notified by Sue Glenna that I was angry, she came and treated me like I was the criminal for tethering my dogs while eating and then said she could tow my travel trailer. I was not yelling, cursing, or being disrespectful despite the circumstance. Horrible experience. Not so much as an apology for Sue Glenna entering my travel trailer. My boy was the only barricade stopping me from showing them how wrong they were lawfully. See the two culprits below (Sue pictured left. The groundskeeper pictured right).

My family stayed four nights at HTR this past spring break. We were presently surprised at how relaxing and nice this park is. The view on the road to the park makes you question where your headed and the entrance is a little tight. You have to block the gate to get checked in because there is no real parking for checking in. The office was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. She took the time to make sure the site that was picked was good for our rig. We were in site 12. Its a nice right hand back in against the creek/river. The RV area is small compared to other parks, which is a good thing. The property is huge with walking trails, disc golf, fishing, swimming, and nature. It was so quiet and relaxed. The Wi-Fi is excellent. There is a card entry gate, so we felt secure and safe. Some sites are longer than others so if you have a large rig you might need to ask. Our site did have some sort of water pump shed next to it but it didn't make any noise, just blocked some of the view. HTR is in great location for the area, we were minutes from everything. Fredericksburg is only 30 minutes away. I highly recommend HTR, we will be back on our next visit to Kerrville.

HTR Texas Hill Country RV Resort May 2025 We truly enjoyed our stay at HTR Texas Hill Country RV Resort. From the moment we pulled in, it felt like a peaceful retreat nestled in the heart of Texas Hill Country. The grounds were immaculately maintained with a nature-inclusive feel that made us feel at home. During our brief stay, we spotted what must have been a hundred deer roaming freely through the area—a beautiful sight to wake up to each day. It was also a practical stop for us, as we needed nearby repair services for our RV, and thankfully, the area had what we needed. The staff here were constantly at work tending to the grounds and facilities, and their efforts were evident in every corner of the park. The reception team was both friendly and helpful, answering all our questions with a smile. Quiet, scenic, and well-run, this RV resort is the kind of place you remember and return to. We would absolutely recommend HTR Texas Hill Country RV Resort to fellow travelers looking for comfort and tranquility in the Texas Hill Country.
