I really enjoyed my stay last time, but this time it was horrible. I was grossed out by the room we had. I went to the bathroom and saw dark spots at the corner of the bathtub area. Not sure what it was, but it looked like mold. Then my husband noticed a small orange stain on the bedsheet. We both spotted a big stain on the carpet near the kitchenette. I'm used to having spotless rooms so because this room was not up to par in cleanliness, I requested to change rooms. The front desk representative, Ricardo, and another lady, Kelly, came to the room to look at the stains. Ricardo was apologetic, but Kelly was slightly snotty. I was showing her the stains and instead of apologizing, she claimed, "So you guys used the room; and she also said, "The room WAS cleaned," in a confrontational tone. That was uncalled for. I was thinking, 'I never said the room was not cleaned, but the point is the room was not made well and whoever that cleaned the room last did a horrible job and should be talked to'. But I didn't say anything to her...thought I'd google it instead so everyone could see what happened...
We then switched rooms, and now, instead of having dirty spots in the room, we found strands of hair in multiple places. We saw a dark strand of hair on the bed. When I was washing my hands, I noticed a dark short circular pubic hair in the sink. My husband then noticed another dark long public hair on the plastic cup cover in the bathroom. We didn't want to bother the hotel staff anymore because it's not really their fault and they already accommodated us to a new room, so we just grabbed the hairs with toilet paper and flushed them down the toilet. We shouldn't have to do that though. It was disgusting. Of all the igh hotels I've been to, this one was the filthiest. The rooms at the Staybridge, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, And Crowne Plaza were all much much cleaner than these rooms at this hotel.
The maids who cleaned our two rooms should be given disciplinary action for the poor job performance or for the little games they play at the customers' expense. It's obvious the maids do not take their job seriously here. What they did was unacceptable especially for an ihg affiliated corporation. I really like the customer service and I am proud to be an ihg member, and I would have continually given my business here had they value cleanliness more. Needless to say though, this candlewood suite lost a good customer today. Maid service as well as customer service must improve or this hotel will continue to...
Read moreI was traveling with two young kids. One with disabilities.
They gave us a room with a plumbing problem (bathtub didn’t drain) and acted like they had no idea once I realized our tub didn’t drain since last nights bath.
I requested a room change but they refused. They offered to have the tub snaked/repaired while we are in the room and then for the manager to clean it. But I did not want my kids there while the room was repaired.
We left the motel and they refused to give us a partial refund.
Customer service was horrible. Andrea offered us 1000 points and lied that it would cover 1 night stay. When I called the main customer service line I was told even 2000 wouldn’t cover a nights stay. Lying to your face is their MO.
I think they pick and choose who the substandard rooms go to.
Also for a two star motel their deposit is 200 which is outrageous.
Update: I spoke with Brenda the motel manager. Her customer service skills can only be compared to a cornered feral cat. She kept interrupting me and talking over me while raising her obnoxious voice. Her main point was that I should have let the motel know about the plumbing issue as soon as I checked in even though I had no idea until the next day when I noticed the tub didn’t drain. She also said that it’s acceptable for me and my kids to be in the room while they snake the drain with who knows what coming out of the drain and then my kids are expected to take a bath in whatever filth comes out of there (housekeeping/cleaners have left already).
Terrible experience. Our only consolation is we are staying at a much nicer hotel.
Fifteen minutes away in Santa Ana on Hotel Terrace there is a variety of better motels with outstanding...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. The rooms were gross and dusty. Upon my arrival I contacted the front desk to advise. The manager, supervisor, and housekeeping came and asked if I wanted to move next door which was worse when they opened the door for me. The housekeeper came in to check the bathroom where I advised was hair in the tub and didn’t look like it had been cleaned at all. She had no response. I had to sit and think about if I wanted to stay or not because I was traveling, had just gotten off a 3 1/2 flight, and it took 2 hours to get to this hotel. I decided I’d stay a few hours since the room charges were already pending and gone from my credit card balance. I had to call the front desk to request cleaner to clean the bathroom up myself. Ironically after I did, the tub was clean, something they claimed looked clean to them prior to. I also requested two sheets to lay over the bed because I needed a nap badly after all the traveling and there was no way I was laying in the bed with the old dated comforter that had thousands of beaded fabric coming out of it from being so old. Upon checking out, I notice that both my debit and credit card was charged for the stay. Extremely upsetting. The supervisor didn’t route properly so that caused a double charge for me. We had to call the bank for a reversal and the manager tried to say the system did it. However, I’m a former holiday Inn employee so I knew exactly what he did wrong. I called again the day after I left to speak with management and not to my surprise, she didn’t return my call. Needless to say I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you’re desperate and just need a...
