Some of the staff members (at the front desk) are delightful, others will just stare at you like you're bothering them. They charge $96 a night which is, as they will gladly tell you, "the full per diem amount." Because of COVID, you have to strip your linen and put your towels in laundry bags. While stripping my bed, I found two large stains on the mattress topper/protecter. One fainter stain on the right side and the larger, darker spot on the left. There was one fitted sheet between myself and this old bodily fluid. Unacceptable for $96 a night in Jacksonville, NC. It is just more of the garbage that MCCS does to service members. Truly MCCS is a cancer. I had 16 years in the Marines, and they are in it to make money at the detriment of Marines and their families. I would say that a fair price for this hotel is $55 before taxes, but after what I will assume is urine, I am going to say it is a $30 a night place. And I had to stay here because this is where Seperations Platoon puts Staff NCO's and Officers separating from the service and coming from overseas. Oh, and the Marines make you pay for your lodging and they wi "pay you back" when you fo you travel claim. I still haven't been paid.

Without a doubt the best hotel I have ever stayed!!! Been in 17 years and have never seen this type of customer service! Stayed here four weeks with my pup, Tucker. Anytime I was out a little longer than planned the staff and housekeeping would walk Tucker to make sure he was okay and to give them time to clean the room! I think he enjoyed it here better than he does at home, he was able to meet everyone and stay busy! Definitely wanted to give a shout-out to the ones that went above and beyond for Tucker and myself... Kim, Carla, and Laura were always so nice and made sure everything was taken care of for us. Annika, Steve, and all of Housekeeping were always checking to make sure everything was good and in order, mostly wanted to see Tucker I think, but he loved every second of it haha! Again, without a doubt the best hotel I've ever stayed on a base and has the most attentive and caring staff at any hotel I've been to! 10/10 every time here!!

05 Aug 2018, I arrived after 23:00 Hr and was ready to locate a Walmart parking lot to get a few hours of sleep if no rooms were available...with a 6+hr drive ahead of me. I was very pleased a room was available! **Thank you Rebekah for your quick assistance, pleasant disposition, and Sara for your quiet yet efficiency through shift-change! *I had a 3rd floor room location which wasn't a problem since there's easy access to an elevator. *The room is clean and up-to-date, with complimentary mints on the bed, bottles of water on a shelf, bath toiletries, desk with chair, safe available. *Breakfast is served starting at 06:00. *The price is the only downsize that I can see right now as some hotels in town are lower priced. Otherwise, I'd consider giving an additional star rating.. *I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

I'm pretty shocked to see so many 5-star reviews. This place is exactly what you would expect from Marine Corps "hotel" - a combination of old BEQ and cheap motel. The reason for 1 star - here you go. Privacy - all the rooms have a huge wall-sized window, which can be barely covered by the curtains. You have to really be really good in adjusting it to make them stay closed. Ideally you would need a pair of alligator clips to make them stay closed, because AC blowing from below will open them anyway. HVAC - The AC is old and failing to properly function. Moisture control and ventilation are non-existent. Immediatly upon entry, you can smell the mold spores. I'm pretty allergic, so I can feel the mold in my throat immediately. When we walked in, the AC was crancked to 63 and it was freezing in the room, while the air was still clammy, so just a little colder and the moist air along with cold AC would produce snow inside the room. The room seemed tidy, however upon settling in, we started to feel something everywhere - floor, bed, bathroom floor. Closer examination revealed that the entire room is covered with what appeares to be beach sand. It was pretty late at night so the best we could do was get a new set of sheets and ask for some room service tomorrow. "Pet friendly" - we have dogs, so naturally we needed a pet friendly room. It was provided to us in the form of tiles on the floor. Obviously to save on carpet cleaning - they why charge extra fee of $8, I believe? Average pet fee in any hotel is $50. But with that you get a nice clean room. I would rather pay a higher cleaning fee, than stay in the room resembling a prison shower. Few more things I am omitting, but here is the suggestion. If you single Marine, and need a place a crush for a night - it'll do, because it won't be much different from the barracks. Bit if you have family, pets and need to stay in the area longer -...

We checked in on 11/23/2022 into room 161 after a 12 hour drive. Upon entering the room there was really bad discusting smell/Oder. It smelled like a dirty dog was in this room. The carpets were very dirty and in need of a good cleaning as well as the toilet. I had called the front desk in regards to the smell and asked for a room spray, which didn’t even help. With that respect they should have offered to have someone come in and inspect the room and have it sanitized. Or move us to another room. According to the manager, she said I should have requested to speak with a manager in order to have it cleaned. That shouldn’t have to come from myself or my husband. The workers are nice, but they need to hire more people. We also had brought out dog with us, and was fine upon our arrival. When my husband and I returned home my dog ended up with fleas. Thank god we caught right away and brought him to the vet. Again the manager claims the room was inspected and no fleas were found in the room. Of course they are going to cover themselves so they don’t look bad. You would expect this from a typical low budget hotel, but not from a Military Base Hospitality Inn. Maybe they need to train the cleaning service on how to do a better job, and inspect the rooms before guest enter. In addition to that the WI-FI service was not working at all. If you have cable service available in the room the Wi-Fi should be working as well. Makes no...

I can only provide a rating based on the horrible customer service (and that’s putting it nicely). We had a vacation planned for this weekend, we booked our room and everything. It seemed as though we had an amazing vacation just days away…and then I received a cancellation letter saying we cancelled our reservation (which we didn’t). When I called the person I spoke with said it was due to the a/c being out in the majority of their rooms and since we were coming on leisure we were the first to get cancelled.

I then proceeded to ask why I’m able to book Friday-Saturday and then Sunday-Monday, but no longer Friday-Sunday (our original reservation) and of course no legitimate answer was given, but she was quick to give me her managers ext and told me I could call her. I understand things happen that are out of our control, but to cancel reservations on a Tuesday because the a/c is out in the majority of the rooms is strange…especially when our reservation wasn’t starting until Friday, so the a/c won’t be fixed…but yet I can book everyday but Saturday….makes absolutely no sense.

It speaks volumes on behalf of the Marines that this is how things are done. My father in law (who was stationed here) is flying from CA for this vacation that we are now scrambling to figure out somewhere to stay. PLEASE don’t risk your trip on this hotel….book anywhere else that would actually take care of you and do...
