Ok. (Clears throat)
My expectations was not very high while staying at this hotel. I knew what I was walking into upon arrival.
The daylight light temperatures throughout reminded me of the cheap-trying-to-pass-off as expensive jewelry at the kiosk at your nearest downgraded mall. The ultra shining floors with mop stains didn’t help its ambience.
The staff was extremely friendly minus the owner/manager who constantly ignored us with a growl on his face.
The room was clean. No bed bugs. No roaches. No flies. Dead or alive. I was shocked that the pillows were big and fluffy. The mattress slept like a dream. Nice size television (42”). Not a lot of storage. Just a European style closet that almost houses an iron, ironing board, and a strange lower half which I didn’t bother trying to investigate. The room came equipped with a dorm sized refrigerator with no freezer and a microwave that was free of stains, crumbs, and other undesirables. I think the floor was vacuumed. It was kinda hard to tell.
The bathroom was clean. Small. Tight. The shower was made for short people which I was extremely pleased about. There is no way someone nearing 6’ or better could shower without cracking their cranium and or hunched over. Our tub stopper was completely in shambles. If you one of the ones that brings your entire personal hygiene regiment, hair and makeup kits, don’t. The countertop has a huge bowl and faucet combo. Very nice to look at but very impractical.
The gym was the standard hotel gym equipped with free weights, a treadmill, an elliptical, a bike, and multi functional home gym station. As of us checking out, bring your own towel because the gym offered none.
I didn’t check the pool out.
The laundry room was more like laundry corner with one, small apartment sized, stacked washing machine/ dryer combo. The cost was 1.75 per load. The front desk will provide you with a roll of quarters. Be careful. The washing machine leaks water onto the floor. The wet floor sign lives there. I would, for the sake of sanitary reasons , disinfect both before using with Lysol.
This particular hotel is a love child from Microtel and Motel 6. The renovations seemed to include new paint over old paint, new carpet, new sinks and faucets, new military murals and photos, new shower heads, and a new bed cover. The grout was thick and dingy. The elevator has seen a lot of ups and downs because its bell appeared overworked and exhausted.
Would I stay here again? Only...
Read moreMy experience at this hotel was horrible. I stayed here because it was a cheaper hotel, but now I know to stay away. I recommend spending more to stay at a different hotel. It was not good from the moment I arrived. I could tell the surrounding neighborhood was sketchy. It gave me a creepy vibe.
Literally, a person was checking locks throughout the building around 11 P.M. and 7 A.M. which was very scary. I talked to the front desk about this, and that they should review their security footage, but the manager demonstrated a lack of concern almost as if he was a part of whatever crime was happening. He said, "We don't have a problem with that." The fact that a manager does not care about the safety and well-being of the people staying there deeply concerned me.
Also, forget about asking for a late checkout in a place like this. If they don't do late checkouts, they need to tell people this so they know what to expect. I asked for a late checkout and they had the housekeeper bang on my door every 10 minutes until I left. And they explained that it was to ask for towels, which was not the case because the housekeeper asked if was leaving every 10 minutes starting at 11 even though I asked for a late checkout. And I explained this to her, but she did not understand likely because she did not speak very good English. They also do not have do not disturb signs on the door. I found out later that you have to request them at the front office. They were literally trying to get into my room while I was taking a shower and I screamed that I requested the late checkout, which they were fine with. I now have read recent reviews about stealing at this hotel and I think they were trying to steal my belongings. How are people supposed to get ready when they are harassing you?
Also, their heater/AC is very noisy and they never fixed it. I also asked if I could get a lightbulb for the lamp and they said they could not do that until the next day, which was basically after I checked out. People don't refill the food for breakfast. It really doesn't take much to satisfy me at a cheap price point at a 2-star hotel, but this was just ridiculous. Save your money and do not stay at this hotel. I will say the shower was decent and the bed was fine, but man, I am glad to get out of this hotel and neighborhood that came right out of a...
Read moreI read a lot of reviews , a lot of negative reviews. First off, I think this should have been listed as a motel. It doesn't really qualify as a designation of a hotel if you look at the definition. It's located in an area of town that doesn't have a lot going for it. We selected it because it was near where we were having a function with a lot of friends. I wanted a low cost room that offered a decent breakfast. Similar to what you would find at Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn , Sleep Inn etc. This was a quick get there, take a shower, attend a function go to bed, get up have breakfast and go back home. That being said let's talk about the shower. Strong water pressure and hot water, Unfortunately there must be a regulator on the shower head in room 206 or it was blocked because the pressure coming out of the shower was very weak. They offer the typical things in the room; shampoo conditioners and soap. They had a microwave and a mini refrigerator. We just recently purchased a Puffy mail order bed adjustable split king because at our age we wanted something that would be more supportive on our back. The beds in this room were very adequate and we did not wake up with a sore back. Generous space to hang hanging clothes on a coat hanger and plenty of coat hangers. Plenty of outlets to connect all your electrical devices. Some of the outlets, the connection is loose. The door was out of plum so there was a gap in the door but you still could close it and lock it. Typical baseboard air conditioner. Little loud, but I have heard worse and it kept the room cold. Super hot in Florida this month. Nice space for breakfast with the Typical offerings; cereal, toast, bagels, muffins oatmeal, cream cheese, butter, waffle maker, yogurt, juices and coffee. I noticed the owner is Indian and not sure why, but in Asia, Nestlé and Nescafe is a common "popular " offering for coffee, etc. Not so much in the USA. For me the coffee is so so ....I think they can find a better product to offer. A plus is a nice spacious bathroom in the breakfast area, but need to keep it supplied with soap and towels! I took lots of pictures. This an older property with an attempt to keep it updated. Remember, you get what you are willing to pay for. For the cost, I got my ...
