We stopped in Joplin thinking that this was a small rural suburb in MO but I did not expect this to be the run down leftovers of Springfield, so I suppose my expectations were set way to high. Everyone in the area was charing 80-100 dolloars a night so this was definately a budget affair.
That being said, spending almost 50 dollars got me a room that smelled very musty, a room next door that had different cars pulling in and out of all night, a bar behind the motel that played loud music untill past 3am and the decor... well I opened up a whole can of Lysol on the room and lit three scented candles to try and make it tolerable.... and I bring my own linnens so..... make of that what you will.

Or standing right in front of the door next to the fridge. But other then that if you stay in your room with the curtains pulled u don't have to see all the tweakers that run around...
