Two stars for the view and proximity to the water -that is it. My family of four stayed in #1309 -it was the worst accommodations I have ever stayed in while in Hawaii (we go to Kauai about every two to three years). The issues with this unit are as follows:||||Kitchen: counter-top tiles cracked, dishwasher control panel broken off (someone tried to superglue it), original cabinetry (warped and hard to open).||||Living/Dining Room: the permanent resident that lives below smokes cigarettes and has yappy dogs -you can smell the putrid smoke when on the lanai and in the living room, decor and furniture is atrocious with a pleather/chrome/glass dinette set (looks like Dr. Evil donated it) the decor is almost like five different people own this condo and each person has put their touch into decorating.||||Main Bedroom: queen size mattress with king size headboard, dresser is white lacquer with fake stainless steel accents, nightstands are Cabbage Patch doll-sized (I'm not kidding), have to move one nightstand in order to close the bedroom door for privacy, no iron (but there is an ironing board -I had to borrow the clothes iron from my sister-in-law in unit 1201), too much random bedding and boxes stored in the closet to hang your clothes, ceiling fan/light is crystal and chrome with tiny fan blades (does nothing to move the air around) also cannot have light on in main bedroom and off in back bedroom as both ceiling fan/lights are identical -the remote controls are the same! Nothing says tropical paradise more than crystal and chrome ceiling fans -geesh! Main bathroom has the original cabinetry -warped and hard to open, white toilet seat on tan colored toilet (classy!).||||Back Bedroom: king size bed turn into two twin beds, broken glass in picture frame hanging above bed, again the ugly white lacquer dresser and nightstands, no storage in closet (ladder, boxes, random bedding). Back bathroom: original cabinetry.||||Laundry Room/Half-Bath: broken spoke on beach umbrella that somebody tried to superglue (Why keep it? Just chuck it!), no clothes drying rack, dryer top that looks as if it was used as a sacrificial alter with all the nasty rust marks.||||I have stayed in older condos with older tropical decor, which is perfect!; the older decor and units are well maintained. However, this condo is like vomit with five different decorating ideas thrown in with some trashy chrome furniture. I have no idea how they even rent this unit! It's almost as if someone wants to own a condo in Hawaii, but can't afford to; so they have to rent it out and furnish is with a bunch of random and cheap decor and furniture they found on the clearance shelves and Ikea and Home Goods. Read more5102 unit is beautifully furnished with virtually everything you need. Views from this condo are exceptional about 20 feet away from the ocean. It was great to sit on the Lanai and watch the turtles and dolphins. The waves splashing against the rocks were spectacular and also great to listen to when going to sleep,so soothing. We ate on the Lanai a great deal as why go out when you have such magnificent views. Great place to watch the sunsets.||Kitchen had everything you needed to cook perfect meals. Lovely comfortable sofa and easy chairs in the Lounge. Plenty of wardrobe space with loads of hangers. First time I have had enough hangers. Bathrooms very nice and spacious especially in the master suite.||Upon arrival there was a lovely welcome basket with loads of goodies. This added touch was so welcoming.||Unit did get very hot in the afternoons as it is south facing. As the unit is on the ground floor you need to shut all doors and windows whilst you are out and we also did this at night for security reasons. A/C would have been a real bonus but I did know that the unit did not have A/C when I reserved this condo. Have stayed in many condos on Pe’e road by the ocean but have not experienced such a hot unit previously. ||Disappointed about the lack of good quality beach chairs. There were only 2 chairs that looked like they would break at any time. However to be fair to the owner, beach equipment is not not included in the listing and has probably been provided by previous guest. Must admit this is the first condo we have stayed in in Poipu where beach equipment was not provided by the owners. Usually there have been lovely Tommy Brahma beach chairs. You can rent beach chairs but that is expensive. Suggest you go to Costco or Walmart to purchase these items a lot cheaper than rental. There were plenty of parasols obviously provided by previous guests. A lesson well learned next time I reserve a condo I will make sure beach equipment is included in the listing.||The owners were great and responded to my emails very quickly and were very helpful.||Pool area was very nice and clean. Hot tub was way too hot. You could hardly put your feet in let alone get in. Might be better in the winter when it is cooler. Grounds are immaculate.|| Beautiful unit but just too...
Read moreUnit 5102 has exceptional views so close to the ocean. Upon arrival there was a lovely welcome basket filled with goodies. Such a lovely surprise and very welcoming. The owners were great with communication and answered all my questions very promptly. They were very helpful.||Well now to more on the unit. The furnishings were lovely with comfortable sofa and easy chairs in the living room. Nice dining area with well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook great meals. Master bedroom has a lovely super-king bed with plenty of wardrobe space and lots of hangers. Bathroom was very nice with large shower and dual wash basins. Second bedroom had twin beds with nice bathroom. Lanai was absolutely marvellous with large table and 5 chairs and 2 loungers. The views were magnificent and we watched turtles and dolphins. The sunsets were glorious. We ate many meals on the Lanai, why go out with such a brilliant vista.||The downside of the condo was that it got very warm and as it was ground floor we had to shut the doors at night for security reasons but this made it so hot. Whilst we were in the condo we opened all windows and doors which cooled it a little but it was uncomfortable in the afternoon and at night. This condo would definitely benefit from A/C. We have stayed in many condos on Pe’e road by the ocean but none were as warm as this condo. Another disappointing aspect was that the beach chairs were in a terrible state. Only 2 that were badly frayed on the seams and looked like they would break. However to be fair to the owners the items were not on the condo listing and must have been left by previous guests. We have stayed in many condos in Poipu and all have had great beach chairs usually Tommy Bahamas. A lesson well learned and in future if the listings do not include beach chairs I will not consider them. If you are staying here and the beach chairs have broken I suggest you buy some from Walmart or Costco a great deal cheaper than rental. ||The grounds are immaculate. The pool was nice but the area was hot as buildings surrounded it. The hot tub was way too hot and you could hardly put your feet in let alone the rest of your body.||Overall lovely condo that needs...
