Quite possibly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. First, we checked in, and the front desk would not accept our ID, and required us to pay an additional $100 to check in for the night. After management realized this was a mistake on the receptionist (who was profoundly rude to us, and essentially told us to wait until management returned in the morning), they were able to refund us the cost, but this was just an absurd situation to happen in the first place.
The drain in the shower was clogged, meaning that the tub would flood and leave the tub coated in a grey liquid. We had to ask management to fix this drain 5 separate times, and it wasn’t fixed until our third day in the hotel.
The included “breakfast” was probably the saddest breakfast I’ve ever seen. White bread, bagels, muffins, cereal and yogurt. Literally it. There wasn’t even any juice to drink. Apparently on weekends, they have more offerings for an upcharge, but we heard from other guests that the pancakes tasted sour, so we didn’t bother checking this out. This is also the first time I’ve had an employee at a hotel verify if I were a guest every time I stepped foot in the breakfast area…quite weird that they are gatekeeping such a lackluster breakfast anyways. (That was the only thing that could keep her eyes off of watching Young Sheldon, she didn’t seem interested in restocking any of the items that were out)
We had difficulty receiving any housekeeping services…even asking for new towels seemed like a hassle. Additionally, the corridor on our floor reeked of mildew the entire time. Oh, and a homeless man was using the laundry facilities. He was also taking it upon himself to move our laundry into the dryer without asking. That was nice of him (sarcasm).
The one thing we can say positively was that the staff (outside of the woman on the first night and the breakfast lady) were very kind and attentive, and tried to do their best as assisting even if they were not provided the tools to do so.
I’d spend our money on something more...
Read moreWe booked here for my daughter's cheer comp . We booked 2 rooms due to me having to drive back and forth, so my mil came to help with my daughter. She got there before me and got us all checked in. She asked for joining roo.s in order to watch my daughter while I was going. She had to switch 2 rooms before I even got there and still didn't have joining rooms.
They put us in rooms down the hall from. Each other.
When I got there and into my room. There was a white substance on the desk, so it was clearly not cleaned very well. There was a legit hole in the floor under the carpet, and we'll as the entire floor being uneven and just overall did not feel clean overall.
I went back down ( so third time now for room change) and talked to the lady at the desk about it. She seemed very incompetent helping guests. I asked her this time specifically if the room next door that was connected to my mils room was available as we already asked for 2 times previously. She then told me she could put me in the room because it was 2 double and not a king....like, are you serious. Three times being down there asking you for this and it could have all been solved if she would have just said that from the staqthe third floor.
For some reason, the rooms on the left are way nicer than the right. The room was cleaner, and the floor was even with no holes. However, the tub does not drain, so I felt very disgusted standing in a tub full of water while showering.
This experience could have been way better from the start if they had just offered the connected rooms in the beginning when we were asking the first time and clean the rooms efficiently. They should probably stop using the rooms with the floors with holes.
Last tip. Apparently, they have changed names 3 times in the last 6 months or so, which made it very confusing with emails and even finding the place. Took a few times going in circles to figure out kenner Garden was not in fact...
Read moreSo, we reserved a room here as a last minute solution. After reading the reviews on here, and Expedia, I was terrified that we were going to be staying in a waterlogged roach motel.
We were pleasantly surprised to see a very clean lobby, hallways that didn’t smell (the owners put in automatic scent machines in the hallways) and AC that worked. The mattress was great also.
The hotel is definitely in need of a refresh, but what it needs more is a higher standard of maintenance and housekeeping. While the bedding and furniture was clean, the floor wasn’t vacuumed well, and it showed. The tub overflow cover was poorly caulked, and had visible rust stains. The bathroom faucet obviously only gets the briefest of wipe downs, because the handle areas were caked in old toothpaste. The ice bucket had water in it from the previous guest, and a fresh bag was just tucked under the lid. I highly doubt anyone peeked inside of it before tossing the bag in.
Yes, the carpets are old, but I’m not at a hotel to critique their carpets. Unfortunately the armchairs on the patio area didn’t have seat cushions, so we couldn’t use them.
Overall it’s not as terrible as other reviews made it seem. If the hotel was in shambles in early October, they made great strides to correct it in just a few weeks. We didn’t make use of the breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. The shinning star of this place is definitely the staff. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and helpful, and I can’t sing their...
