This was the worst hotel I've ever almost stayed in my whole life. I flew from Seattle Washington to Kernersville North Carolina and I had booked my stay for 7 days at the Oyo Inn. We got there in the first thing that happened was that the man at the front desk said I only booked a room with one bed I knew I was up there with two beds because I had gone in and made sure. And then was charged another $5 and night for the extra bed. It was myself and my best friend Carol staying in the hotel because we were there for my other friend's wedding. We had never been to North Carolina so we didn't know about this hotel. At first we were going to just go ahead and stay one night and and leave the next day and go to a different Hotel. But once we got into the room it was so totally disgusting there was no way we could stay in that room. So we called booking.com and I told them about the room and how he's charged us for an extra bag when we already paid for two beds. Christopher is the guy from booking.com ask us many questions asked me if I'd taken pictures I said yes. And he said I had booked to bed so there is no reason that they should have charged me for two beds. Then he said he would talk to the man at the front desk and see what he says. Then he calls us back and says that he will give us a different room at least look at it first and see if it's acceptable. We get our stuff together take pictures, head towards the office. When we get to the office the gentleman that was in the office I'm assuming was the owner didn't even have enough respect to be there he put one of his employees there and he was on the phone. So we went and looked at the other room and it was barely better than be a first room and not a safe place at all so we didn't decided we didn't want to stay there at all. The hotel had already charged my credit card and I was told they were going to charge me for one day anyway even though we weren't going to stay and it wasn't our fault it was their fault. So we had to figure out where we were going to stay and how we were going to do it when they had already taken all of her money so we had to wait for an Uber in the sun outside. Uber lady took us to a fancier Hotel it was $130 a night and we were so traumatized we didn't care we just stay there for the night. There was rusted metal Parts where there should have been Kleenex containers and place to hang your clothes but is all rested up. And it looked like someone had splattered mud or something all over the walls. There were two beds in the room but one of them had a frame and one of them did not so the level of the beds was different. There was no vent on the air conditioner and it barely worked. The door was warped and at least 2 in from underneath the door and the lock did not lock the security lock to not work the TV did not have cable. We could not find internet. The bathroom walls were bubbled by the toilet. The counter by the sink was disgusting. The curtains were half hanging off of the rod and filthy. And the concrete right outside of our door was big hole so you could hurt yourself coming in and out of there. Overall it was -5 i wish you could give a minus. They were rude to begin with. Whatever happened to the customer is always right, and even if the customer is wrong the customer is still right. I worked in customer service my whole life and I would never have even imagined treating a person the way that we were treated at OYO. The wedding was beautiful and North Carolina is beautiful and warm and the people are so very nice other than the ones at Oyo Inn in Kernersville. It took them three days to get my money back to me and they kept one full day $54 when we didn't even stay in the hotel because it was so very disgusting. They should have given me all of my money back it was false advertising. Look on their webpage it shows a beautiful room, but we could not find it anywhere. It's okay we salvaged it. Everything worked- out fine enough. I hope nobody else has to be subject to such a...
Read moreWe were going to Happytails the next morning to pick up two puppies. This was the closest motel so we decided to stay here dispite the bad reviews. What sold me was the great breakfast review. First the positive - great location and easy access to Happytails. The bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. What more could you ask for. Bath tub was so bad my wife wouldn't use it. Heat would also be nice. We couldn't get the heater to work so our room was freezing. Stopped at the front desk on way back from dinner at Mad Greek Grill- highly recommend. Desk guy was able to get it to work. Two hours later it was suffocating and we couldn't get the heater to shut off so unplugged it. At 230am the room was freezing again. Plugged back in an it eventually worked. Even though the motel is probably over a mile from the main highway it is tucked back in so it is right adjacent to it. Traffic noise all evening and thru the night. But to top it all off went to take a shower in the morning - good news plenty of hot water - bad news no cold water. Would not recommend if you were staying longer than a couple of hours which I think most of the other guests were as there was coming and going through out the night. Almost forgot - no breakfast, though Abels grill is just a short distance with great omelets. Should have stayed at the...
Read moreThe location was decent, and away from the noisy major streets and traffic. It’s convenient for us because we were doing a road-trip and had a car. But this area isn’t exactly pedestrian friendly due to a lack of sidewalks and crosswalks. Checking in and checking the room availability in-person was quick, and the 24/7 desk employees were very polite and transparent with the booking fees. There’s also a fridge and freezer for drinks and frozen meals, at a low price. The room OYO provided for us meet all basic requirements for a short stay that included TV with cable, a microwave and fridge. Our room, which was on the 1st floor also came with all the necessities needed (i.e towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion) too. The only minor complaints are the thin walls. We could hear conversations and running footsteps from a family staying above our suite, as well as chatter outside our door on several occasions in the evening. The bedding also had a few stains, possibly permanent, and from previous travelers staying? The sheets smell and appear clean, otherwise as the rest of the room. Overall, OYO Kernisville is a cheap, convenient stay if you’re staying or passing through Greensboro, NC. It’s also close to the...
