Funny enough, we also stayed in the Seascape Villa 3582. (Our keys worked totally fine for two and a half days). Our check in process was okay; not bad, not great. The valet worker at the check-in/registration building was much more welcoming and knowledgeable than the man at the desk! The reservation process was a bit annoying, as it could not be done online. You can't even search available villas with your dates, it has to be done over the phone. When you call to reserve, make sure you have access to their website, as they can give you exact unit numbers and you can reference these for pictures online. The employee we spoke with while making reservations, Blake, was very nice and very helpful during the process. Apparently there are three different "levels" of accommodations they offer... resort, deluxe and premier. Resort are the most budget-friendly option and we were told completely up front that it was going to be "livable", and that most of them had not had renovations. The deluxe are more expensive and have been renovated in the bathrooms and kitchen areas with updated furniture. The nicest and most expensive villas were the premier and they were the top of the line the resort offers for villas. We were advised that 3582 was the nicest of the "resort" level villas. We were on a budget and the pictures looked decent, so we pulled the trigger and booked the villa. The villa was not the worst I have ever seen, however, I would not stay there again and would have much rather paid a little extra for a deluxe villa! The resort is great, but the extra money would be well worth it for an upgrade to something newer, nicer and cleaner.

Pros: VERY close to the beach (2 minute walk around the pool, couldn't have had a better location) Resort amenities (pool, bike rental service, house keeping) Proximity to Fresh Fields market and "downtown" area ... a 15 minute bike ride away

Cons: Muggy, basement smell Stained living room furniture, walls and carpet throughout Dead bugs on the master bedroom floor HAIR in the bed and on the bathroom floor upon arrival (we had to call for housekeeping to come change the sheets, it took at least an hour for them to show) This was a downstairs unit and the neighbors above us were SO loud!! It sounded like they were pounding on the ceiling, we ended up having to purchase ear plugs for the second night. Master bedroom was poorly ventilated for air conditioning... We slept with the bedroom door open and still had to crank the air down to get comfortable, but the rest of the villa was absolutely freezing!

Like I said before, the resort is great and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, but I would 100% pay more money for at least a deluxe...

check in for a two night weekend stay at The Seascape Villas #3582. I was in town photographing a wedding at the ocean course, after a 12 hour day I get back to my villa at 10:30 p.m. only to find that my key card won’t open the door. They send someone with a new key card, still doesn’t work. Security arrives, his key card doesn’t work. I am then told that my lock has to be reprogrammed and there is no maintenance man on site to fix it. I will have to be placed in a different villa until 8:30 a.m. when maintenance arrives to work. I will then have access to my belongings. How can you tell me that I can't access my belongings at all, there is no way to get into my villa until 10 hours later? What if I had children with me? What if I need my medication? What if I had an emergency? The list can keep going on why this is unacceptable. The next morning I can finally access my villa and I ask the maintenance man if this has happened before? He replies, "yes it has. There is something wrong with the lock system and they are aware of this problem.” How can you be aware of an issue and not have the means to fix it if it happens after hours when the maintenance has gone home?! I finally speak to a manager and he apologizes and informs me he can only offer me a refund of the one night. I explain that isn’t good enough and I need a full refund! No one should have to experience this and a FULL refund is the LEAST they can do! After a lot of back and forth he finally responds “OK FINE!” with an attitude. So now the management is giving me attitude for my inconvenience?! When you are paying $200+ a night you certainly hold the accommodations and customer service to a higher quality and standard. I would have been much better off booking a room at Holiday Inn, where something like this would never happen! And while I’m at it, the rooms are extremely outdated, the couch smells like a wet towel that was left in the washing machine, there are spots on the carpet, the pillows are hard as rocks, and there was a pile of old frames, and junk under my bed with a thick film of dust on it! Do yourself a favor and...

So while checking in we were told that our villa which was in the ship watch villas, which was right on the ocean and completely renovated, the air-conditioning didn’t work. They told us at the villa front desk that we would never put us in something not comparable (lie.) Not only did they put us in villas that were further from the beach we also found a hot wheels car in the garbage disposal, blood on the sheets and a cockroach on the ceiling that fell on my daughter While watching TV. Upon check-in, we were not told that certain restaurants were closed for lunch, so we ended up driving for over an hour trying to find somewhere to eat. After complaining about the location of the villa, they moved us into another villa at least in the area on the ocean of the previous villa. The villa was completely dated and looked like it was decorated by my 80-year-old grandmother, There were even limes from the previous renter in the garbage disposal, along with food. They gave us 20% off and a late checkout, but it’s not even about the money, Its about the experience. I have emailed left messages and called and nobody has responded. So buyer beware, when you go there you may not get the experience that you hoped at the villas. You were a paid to be at a prestigious Island and 100% they should not be renting those villas until the owners update them. So disappointed . The lack of response from any kind of management after we left...

We reserved 4222 Mariner’s Watch - it was full of mold in the living spaces and stunk. The front desk was not helpful and now after reading other reviews it appears it’s standard operating procedure to allow villas to become run down. It took reaching out to the President to get a call offering help to move to another unit as we were concerned about the short and long term effects of staying in a villa with mold in the walls. We moved next door to 4220 Mariner’s Watch. It is much cleaner. Surprised there are no beach towels. We are staying on the ocean and would expect beach towels to use when we book at a “resort”.

Everything you see in the reviews is true: the good, the bad and the ugly. We liked that they developed the island but still preserved nature amid the homes and walking and biking trails. Beach is great but not very dog friendly. My main issue was with the bill. We followed instructions and left the keys in the room and waited for the bill to be emailed. At the end of the day it hadn’t come so I contacted them. To my amazement the bill had seven charges totaling $858 for 3 days of pet fees. It took several calls to obtain refund of $695 and first refund shorted me by $150. Do not leave without checking your bill!!!
