My family and I stayed here 5 nights last week. Aside from my children enjoying the pool, my stay was not pleasant. The rooms are not big enough to accommodate more than 5 comfortably especially since there is one bathroom. I would say this is only comfortable if your children are ten and under. My bathroom tub water ran constantly (not a small trickle either) as there was something going on maintenance/plumbing wise. I contacted the front desk and housekeeping multiple times and nothing was done so every night we listened to running water. The housekeeping staff is mostly Hispanic so good luck communicating with them if you don't speak Spanish. I had to use google translate to communicate and the things I asked for were never done. My room did not get cleaned by the staff until the final night. Out of frustration, I went to Walmart and purchased items to clean my own room the other nights. When staff did go in and clean (the last night) they broke the handle off my shower handle completely so we couldn't even wash that evening coming from the pool. You would think, they would let a supervisor know so accommodations could be setup versus us coming in from the pool to that. But, nope!!!! I called the front desk to inform them and was told I would get a call back. 45 minutes later no call so I called them back. I was told maintenance was in the way, 20 minutes later maintenance came and left but never fixed the shower he was also Spanish speaking so I was not given an update on the matter. I had to call front desk again and after waiting in cue 15 minutes they answered and hung up on me! This whole cascade started around 6pm when I was trying to get my family washed and dressed to go eat dinner. Around 7:45 I called again and asked for a new room or someplace that we could simply shower for the night. They told me they had to search for a clean room and call me back as if they had to go room to room to see what was clean like they don't keep inventory in the computer. I left from my room went to the lobby and waited in line to speak with management. I had to act out just so my family and I could bathe and get chemicals off our bodies. A guest service attendant then asks me if it's necessary for a new room since it was my last night. Whewwww I had to take several deep breaths like what kind of question is this. Then they told me the keys to the old room would not work anymore and I replied they need to work until we are done moving. The keys were deactivated immediately! I was promised security to maintain access to the old room as I moved and a bell service attendant and received neither. By the time we were moved into the new room, it was after 9, we still needed to shower so we missed dinner as restaurants close in the area around 10 and were forced to eat fast food! Customer service was extremely poor. The facility itself needs to be upgraded. The vents in the rooms are full of lent and mold. If you have children with asthma please check the room vents and bring all pumps and breathing treatment machines as they will need them. Guests sit out on the lower level benches and smoke pot and no one polices this, meanwhile children are here roaming about the facility. My kids and I enjoyed the pools other than that they stay was not pleasant. Most of the ice machines are broken so you have to play hide and seek to find one that works when signs should be posted on those that are out of order. Elevators are nasty and smell moldy, carpets are raggedy within the elevators and should probably just be discarded as it will look better. The large chair they have stationed in front of the pool for photos is raggedy and needs to be repainted as you see all the peeling of the chair big as day in all your pictures! Oh and someone had a bowel movement in the pool and they took their precious time that day getting the pool cleaned out. Feces floated around in the pool for 3 hours before they removed it and treated the water. 5 hours of the pool being closed versus 2 had they removed the pool and treated the...
Read moreYou're going to read a lot of bad / mixed reviews about this hotel, but here's our POSITIVE take - as a family from the Midwest who was just looking for warm temps, sunshine, fun pool options for our young daughter, a safe + comfortable space to use as a home base while we did Disney day trips: Don't let the bad reviews scare you. WE LOVED OUR STAY!
We stayed April 1 - 9, arriving later than anticipated due to flight issues and the staff was extremely helpful + accommodating with our 1am arrival. We were exhausted and crashed immediately, realizing in the morning that our room was far away from the main pool area (and directly next to the new pool area being worked on, with heavy machinery) so we inquired about a possible room change, since we were staying for 8 days and a main draw for our family was the waterpark / pool - the staff was so understanding and kindly moved us (and even upgraded us) to a new room, directly by the pool area. I also want to note that we are Holiday (IHG) Rewards Members, which I do think always helps when you are staying at a hotel to be a part of their system.
Both rooms we had were clean and comfortable - they aren't going to be fancy, but that's not what we were needing or thought we'd get here. We loved the kitchenette and got a grocery delivery directly to the hotel.
The food on site isn't anything to rave about - but again, it's a Holiday Inn focused on families with a high volume of guests. Hotel restaurants + bars are usually overpriced and underwhelming, unless you stay at high end resorts so this didn't surprise us or bother us. We LOVED the poolside drink + food options though and had exceptional service at the bar there.
We loved the movie theater with multiple daily kids movies being shown, the alligator show with a pro from Gatorland + photo ops afterwards holding a gator, poolside competitions + games, music in the waterpark / pool area, toddler waterpark options, ice cream shop on site and food / drink options available.
Our room was serviced daily (garbages emptied, beds made) and any request we did have (extra garbage bags, additional towels, etc) was met no problem. We did notice that physically going to one of the main desks as opposed to calling the desks was the best way to communicate + get assistance from staff.
The pool / waterpark was PERFECT for our family! Our 3 year old had a blast on the slides and we spent multiple days just hanging by + in the pool area. If you are bothered by a family atmosphere (loud music, lots of kids, etc) this probably isn't the best place for you. But if you have kids, it is really fun! We did bring our own beach towels + pool toys, which was a plus since it appeared that hotel pool towels could often run out. As a note, the weekend days (Sat specifically) the pool area seemed to get exceptionally busy. We actually got a little overwhelmed, so because our stay was so long and we had lots of other pool day options, we opted to head out to Disney Springs. I would just keep that in mind as you are booking, that weekends do seem to get quite packed here (and we noticed a lot of family groups / cheer teams over the weekend as opposed to the week days we spent at the Hotel) Also, PLEASE PUT DIAPERS ON YOUR KIDS. Over the 8 days we were there, there were 3 situations where someone's kid POOPED in the pool and the poor staff had to clear the pool, clean it out + then make everyone wait 45+ minutes before getting back in. This was at absolutely no fault of the Hotel staff and we noticed so many guests getting frustrated with them, when it wasn't their fault.
There is a free shuttle that is offered, but it is only offered at specific times in the morning and to specific locations on Disney property (Epcot + Ticketing) This didn't always work for our timelines or where we wanted to go, so we did Uber to Disney Springs and then catch Disney transport from there a few times. I do wish there was free transport to Disney Springs, since it is so close, but it was an easy + cheap uber every time...
Read moreStay at Holiday Inn Orlando Suites Waterpark by IHG was 5/1-5/4. Booked on 3/4/25. Booked Two Bed suite for our family of 5 and excited to have a "waterpark" on premises. Arrived 11:18 pm. Lobby was nice, looked and smelled clean. Clerk was friendly and advised us the pool located at our section Building 2 was not available and comped $20 a day for inconvenience. Was told to use hotel phone in room with any questions. We were escorted to our room by a golf cart; grateful because the walk from our door to main lobby is 15 min and we would have gotten lost in the dark and unfamiliar surroundings. Room was on the 6th floor, functional elevator, floor was dirty and the elevator on one journey jarred up and down abruptly. Arrived at room and noted why pools was closed, pool was under construction, a very loud generator was in use to keep the pools drained from water. We could hear the generator through the walls. Hotel rooms were dirty, floors had sticky black stains, linens were soiled, no pillows for sons bed. Light switch made light flicker on and off like a strobe light. There was no room phone. I had to call the front desk from cell phone. I state generator loud and heard though walls, they say it should not be running and they will inform maintenance. Generator never shuts off. I walk to main office and tell them my findings that I stated and they tell me the hotel is booked solid & I could try again. I asked for pillows and were delivered 40 min later. We settle in for the night and tell ourselves that we are not in the room for a long time and that it would be okay. The buffet was a joke, there was only eggs, bacon, waffles, cereal and fruit and for over $20 a plate per person its a rip off. Everything was cold and tasteless. I could tell why the building was crowded; there was a dance or cheer competition going on and the lack of respect from these groups were not on the hotel but staff could have handles the flow a bit easier making other people enjoy their meal/stay better. The other fast food options were also disgusting for the cost. If you would like to door dash you must go to the lobby to pick it up; 30 minute round trip walk equals cold food. We tried to have them get delivered to the building BUT there was so much construction and closed off areas this made it impossible for them and the lobby was telling them that it needed to be delivered to the lobby. It would have been nice to have a golf cart patrolling the area giving people rides to help with the large area this hotel encompasses. I did ask the attendant that was sitting in the cart by the marketplace to help me get to my building once (I was having a walking issue with my hip not cooperating with my leg) and he just pointed at the building that I needed to go to; thanks buddy! The second night listening to the generator we also could hear the fire alarm from the building furthest from us go off at 1am for about an hour; now I understand that its a valid noise and I was not upset at that urgency but its just piling on the issues we have had with this place. Our family tried the pool, there were hardly any attendants manning the water slides and many kids were piling on top of one another, some kid pooped in the pool, the pool and floors were extremely dirty and there was a lack of enforcement when it came to garbage, food all over the place, glass bottles by the pool and general respect for personal space by others. My husband spoke to quite a few people there because we were told by staff that we needed to wear the pool bands at all times and wondered by no one else was wearing them and when he asked quite a few people where there bands were they told him that they sneak in because they live close by and no one enforces it. Why do I have to pay for these amenities when they did not? Our family expects a refund; we never complain but I feel you should be made aware where the faults lie. We were not alone in our complaints either and others definitely...
