Worst treatment by someone in customer service of my life.
We went to the Marriott World Center for a staycation w/our family & friends to celebrate my twin boy's 9th birthday. Our stay was from Thurs 6/15-Sun 6/18 . I called to make reservations at restaurants for the 3 nights we were there back on March 29th. I made a reservation for 12 at Mikado for Thurs 6/15 @ 6pm, for 15 at High Velocity for Fri 6/16 @ 6pm, & for 19 at Siro for Sat 6/17 @ 6pm (I also received confirmation texts for all three nights, to which I confirmed them all). No issues on the first two nights, we had a great time & good food.
Sat night at Siro was the night we'd have all our friends with us and were celebrating the boy's birthday, I even had a send-a-cake delivered for them to open & have the paper butterflies come out as a surprise. Everything was great, until I went up the hostess stand, told them my name and for 19. The hostess said she couldn't seat us, saying we only had a reservation for 5. I told her that when I called months ago to reserve the table, it was for 19 & I had the confirmation. She continued to say she couldn't do it, so I asked for a manager. This is where the worst treatment begins. Anthony comes out, stands in front of our group and says, "Jessica". I said, "Yes"... he said nothing, so I go into the whole thing all over again & he begins to tell me I made 3 separate reservations & he couldn't seat all 19 together. The 19 consisted of 9 adults & 10 kids (ages 7-9). I was very confused, because when I booked this, the person I booked w/said we'd have their smaller back room where we'd all be able to sit, but because of the way their reservation system works, she had to put it in a certain way. I said no problem, as long as we'd be all set. She assured me we would be. Anthony continues to be completely non-helpful & keeps asking me who I made the reservation with... I said, “I called the reservation line & they told me...”; he interrupts and says, "They? They?". I continue to tell him, "Yes, the one I made the reservation with months ago.". At this point he said "I'm not talking to you (me) anymore, now I'm talking to him (my husband).”, then my husband said that this was bulls**t. At this time, Anthony said he's calling security and proceeds to call 3 security guards to the restaurant. I begin to cry because this is BEYOND ridiculous at this point, we just want to sit & eat w/our friends to celebrate the boy's birthday (even typing this I'm shaking, he made us so upset). This is all going on in front of the children too. Anthony then says that he's “not allowing my husband in” because he swore (granted he could have chosen a better word, but he wasn't the cause of this whole thing). Thankfully one of my friends asked to pull Anthony aside & speak to him one off, where my husband also had to offer an apology and listen to Anthony's ridiculous demands. He said he would not allow "That woman" (me) in & my husband was only allowed in if he was on his best behavior. My friend explained that this was my kid's birthday & we all needed to come in to celebrate. Anthony must have agreed because then they started moving empty tables to seat us all together. During dinner I was told that Anthony said if there was one complaint about us, that we'd all be thrown out. Security didn't approach us at all. We were just waiting outside, hanging with our kids, being normal human beings. The restaurant didn't have to throw us out. We sat down, like normal human beings & had our dinner, drinks & birthday surprise. Our waiters, Ralph & Jacob we're amazing, we’ve actually had them during previous stays. But all this ridiculousness because Anthony doesn't know how to treat people or listen to what someone has to say. He was immediately on the defense, on a complete power trip & unbelievably rude. Maybe there's a breakdown in the reservation system? If that's the case, fix it. But either way, Anthony should not be in a management position. I seldomly leave reviews, but I had to share this experience, & honestly, it ruined our last...
Read moreI don’t think it’s enough stars to describe our experience! This was not a regular dinner but more so a true dining experience! My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice Italian restaurant and were having a hard time making a decision. And based on the reviews of this place we were skeptical. But I am so glad we came here! First let me start with Eric, exceptional service, recommendations and personality. He let us sample some great wines and helped us make decision to pair with our meal. Go with the Quilt Cab for my wine lovers! He had his hands full with us because my girlfriend just could not figure out what she wanted and has some dietary restrictions that limited her options… or so we thought! And at this moment we were introduced to Chef Shapiro, he came out and gave us a true world class experience. After a nice conversation and figuring out what she was looking for he went back in that kitchen and customized a dish to perfection! Steak which they pre cut in strips for us, an amazing pasta dish, the crispiest most well seasoned potatoes and the most amazing truffle asparagus! Combined that with my Diavolo hot honey pizza, it was everything and more. After our meal they came back to chat and even asked us for input on what they can do to add to their menu down the line and let us know they are constantly evolving their menu. I just can’t say enough great things about our time here. Never would’ve expected this from a hotel restaurant but we left with a smile so big and just had to let our friends and family know and now writing this review! Can’t wait until our next visit here! Great job, compliments to the entire team here..almost forgot get the berry crostada...
Read moreLooks can be deceiving! Came in town for a conference - decided to have what I thought would be a "nice" dinner on a Sunday evening. My server was pleasant but she failed to be transparent with costs of drink and menu options. Rather than "selling" or "pushing" bread (one would think is standard but ended up being a full appetizer) and a FULL glass of wine ended up being $19 bucks for a basic/house blend of wine is absurd. I ordered the shrimp & lobster alfredo to which the price on the Marriott's menu differs from what's listed in the restaurant ...again, lack of transparency. The pasta was al dente (not mentioned by the server or menu details) and the shrimp didn't appear to be fresh - perhaps the kind you'd get from your local grocery frozen bag. Needless to say it wasn't worth $39 - I've had better!! The server apologized and suggested the "manager" without me even asking. Personally he seemed to be a bit curt and not understanding of first time customer's concerns with the way this "establishment" is run and false advertisement. The "best" he could do was adjust $5 from the cost difference of the pasta dish listed online vs. the actual restaurant menu. He failed to address employees being transparent nor did he apologize for it. Long story short...don't bother dining here you're sure to be disappointed with the quality of the food and...
