Came to celebrate my adult daughters birthday for 4 days with her husband and kids. Settle in for a read if you want a list of all the things that have gone wrong. Internet wasnt working when we got here (needed that to work in the evenings) and they couldnt help til the next day. Overheard them at the front desk saying the hotel rooms had no internet due to so many people trying to use that night, but since we were in a house we were supposed to be safe.

Service at the restaurant is incredibly slow no matter when you eat, but count on two hours minimum at night and Dont expect to get all the things you ask for as they will forget. (ie sugar packets, ketchup etc) The bugs esp mosquitos were MISERABLE so we couldnt enjoy the incredible view on the patio. (and dont bother asking for the citronella candles they dont have enough to go around and forget to bring those too even when you ask) . We've gone through three cans of DEET in three days. Still had swollen eyes, and tons of itchy bites...mostly from the porch at the restaurant.

We stayed in a house and the neighbor launched off her porch screaming at us to not step in her yard when my kids were just out in the back enjoying the squirrels and birds. (not doing ANYTHING rambunctious or rude and no one warned us this was a "thing") .. it looks like you are just sharing common outdoor space to me?

We were so excited about the amenities and all the things we were going to get to do... except that the pool was constantly closed any time there is lightning in a 15 mile radius which is apparently several times daily. Couldnt get in to ride the horses. Super excited about the unexpected surprise of roller skating and bumper cars at the rink...unfortunately the bumper car i was in malfunctioned in a horrific way (controls stopped working and threw the car into a SUPER fast spin with no way to stop) and almost broke my leg. CORRECTION: after going to the dr i learned it actually was broken.

(SO thankful it was me and not the kids as this could have been catastrophic accident..im not kidding) Operators did NOTHING to help and my family stopped the malfunctioning car by surrounding me with their cars. They didnt even report incident to a supervisor even when i let them know i was laid up unable to walk the next day. I had to call three times to get anyone to care. Nonchalantly offered me a credit for what we spent on the bumper cars (not the hotel) even though it ruined our ability to celebrate my daughters bday kayaking the next day as was THE primary reason for the trip, and also had to forego the golf course with the kids. So then the DVD player didnt work after we spent $200 putting together a movie night for the kids as a consolation prize since i couldnt go out... and they didnt help us with that either. Just got used to hearing "im sorry but we cant do anything" by that time.

Giving up and going home. Just no in every way. So disappointed. Oh and there was a very drunk guy the first night at dinner out on the patio that was really obnoxious and made everyone out there uncomfortable. Not kid appropriate. He wasnt sent home for hours.

We enjoyed the kids park, and were in awe of the wildlife and the skyline. The houses are decently sized and clean and the setting is cool if it werent for the scary neighbor. Those are the positives The location itself is beautiful and if all the things it LOOKS like we could have enjoyed had happened, it would have been SUCH a cool trip. As it was, this was the top worst trip ive ever taken and could have been made so much better at least with the level of hospitality you'd expect from a setting such as this. For gosh sakes, have a manager call when things go wrong, and make it right. Cant recommend this place, but i really, really wanted to. Maybe if i had set my expectations lower, i wouldnt have been disappointed. Expect glorified camping and forget the amenities...maybe you'll be...

On July 22nd, while staying as Registered guests of Running Y Ranch in Klamath Falls, OR, members of our 18 person group went to their Restaurant Ruddy Duck, at approximately 8:30 pm to inform the restaurant we were interested in ordering food.

At this time, the restaurant was serving many tables and even seated another table after us. After 10:20 pm pm, our food was served to us in boxes and we were asked to pay for the food and leave the restaurant. There were still multiple other tables seated at the restaurant, including the table that was seated after us. This table, despite being seated after us, was served on plates and were never issued any warnings on time, etc.

Additionally, the food served to us was cold and of poor quality. For example, a $21 shrimp scampi consisted of 4 small shrimp and less than a handful of pasta. This meal would be barely enough food to feed a young child, let alone an adult.

When we raised our concerns, another server, Amy, started yelling out our group. As there was no restaurant or hotel manager on duty, the restaurant chef came out to talk to us, in which he told us that he was sorry for miscommunication, but there was no way could accommodate the size of our group, fix the food order, and serve us on plates. As we continued to complain he repeatedly stated “You can say whatever you want”. As we continued to complain, we asked to speak to his manager on the phone. We calmly explained the situation to Amber, who apologized for the situation, and said she would send the hotel manager to the restaurant to fix the situation since she lived too far away. Even the chef eventually agreed that this service was unacceptable.

While we waited for the manager, we did not agree to pay for the bill as we were upset with the discrimination and poor quality of service. While waiting for the manager, a large dishwasher for our group from the kitchen came outside to confront our group for paying. He started physically getting close to them while speaking to them in a loud raised voice. He had to be restrained by other hotel staff. During this time, the staff said things such as “You should be happy we made you food” and “I’m not staying late for them!” Our children were exposed to this scene and many of them cried throughout the process.

Eventually, the hotel general manager, Christy Mullinux, showed up to the restaurant. She is the highest ranking person in the hotel and her opening line was to rudely say “So I hear you guys don’t want to pay your bill?” We explained that wasn’t the case, and that we wanted to explain our situation/scenario to someone in senior management. She listened for a few minutes, but eventually also started to talk to us rudely and offensively. She never once apologized for what happened and simply asked for us to pay the restaurant and leave.

After going through this ordeal we no longer felt comfortable staying at the hotel, and requested law enforcement be called to document the incident. The staff would not allow us to leave the restaurant until the bill was paid. Due to the nature of the situation, none of us felt comfortable paying cash our using credit card’s that stated our guest name so we eventually decided to put the whole bill in my name since our room was under my husband’s name.

When the police arrived, they told us they were responding to a trespassing violation.

Additionally, our group took multiple minute videos of the situation demonstrating the extreme unprofessionalism of the hotel staff. Multiple times in the video while we are arguing you can other servers calmly and professionally deliver food to our guests of the hotel/restaurant.

The police stated the hotel general manager told the police that we weren’t welcome in the restaurant anymore, and that we should go back to our room, and not stay in the common...

I stayed at the Running Y Ranch Resort for 4 days, while attending the annual OSFGC State Convention. Overall, I had a good experience (did not have much time to enjoy any of the amenities the resort had to offer, so I can't comment on those).

Upon checking in, the lady at the front desk was nice and I had a quick check-in experience. My room was fine, with a decently comfortable king sized bed, with the room overlooking the front of the resort. I happily enjoyed the walk-in shower with a shower head on a hose (awesome!). I didn't have my housekeeper clean my room while I was there, but did ask for a couple of things during my stay that she easily met and exceeded! **One thing that I was questioning my first night however, was that there was some kind of oily residue on the counter tops (no, it wasn't pine-sol or a usual cleaning product). When I called the front desk, she seemed to not care & so I said I'll just have to go to my car & get my wet wipes & clean the counter tops myself. She had a "well then, why did you call me then" attitude (eye twitch) .

The food (lunch & dinners) that was part of the convention I was attending, was always cooked wonderfully and nicely presented. Plus, the event staff, were fabulous as well!!! The package that we could pick (which I did) for our stay during the convention, included a breakfast. I only went the first time because I was not impressed with the very meager offerings (including the first breakfast having over ripe fruit). After that, I learned that the fruit improved but unfortunately, not the rest.

My only "REGRET," was eating at the onsite restaurant. My parents and I ate there for lunch on our first full day there. It was a slower time for the restaurant (about 7 tables occupied at the time), my Mom and I only had about 40 minutes before we had to go back to meetings. I ordered a regular cheeseburger (medium well) with fries, my Mom ordered a simple cold cut sandwich with a small salad and my Dad ordered a club sandwich with fries. It took about 35 minutes, to finally get our food. My Mom and I had to scarf down what we could of our food, then rush to our meetings. Plus, my burger was very well done. I was hungry & very disappointed. I later found out from my Dad, that no management acknowledged our issue (VERY late food & food issues), no "sorry for your bad experience, we'll"...or anything. Plus, when we asked our server about our food twice, we got the same response "it'll be right out in a few moments." Needless to say, we didn't return to the restaurant the rest of our stay.

Overall, it was a good experience, with clean rooms, good housekeepers, great meeting space. Wouldn't recommend the...
