This hotel is located off one of the most difficult roads to get onto and off which is Telshor Blvd that parallels I-25. There is a nice city view at night in their outdoor seating area and saltwater pool but you will hear traffic noise. It is located next to Planet Fitness. This hotel is nice enough, but it’s a stretch calling it a 3 star hotel.
We have 2 dogs and that is not too much of a problem given the amenities here, including a dog relief area, but shade is an issue outside of this hotel, with little plant life. Your dog troop may have a stain on the carpet. Overall, the room is clean and the staff and guests are nice.
We will be here a for a few weeks, but after 3 nights my biggest disappointment is a non-smart TV, therefore no streaming! So go to Best Buy and buy a $25 Roku. It works very well in the room and the wi-fi signal is strong. Another issue is ottomans. Seems like they could supply two ottomans per couch (fold out bed) which sits two people. Two ottomans could be used for kids not to mention elevating the legs up for adults!
The room is not super big and a family of four may be a bit cramped in the suite with a kitchen. The kitchen is nice enough and supplies everything you need including a microwave, invection cooking top and good size refrigerator. The layout of the room reminds me of our Class C RV or a a room on a cruise ship with it being long and not wide, so it is designed in 3 compartments: kitchen, living, sleeping.
The shower is nice but I had to ask for a shower mat as the floor was slippery but they do have a grab bar. They did supply a mat for the shower. The front desk does respond quickly, including the need for a new cooktop and window AC which is ice cold now! The bathroom is not large either but has all amenities that’s needed.
We are thankful to be put up in this hotel by our insurance company. So we can say we are comfortable. The bed sleeps well, expanded breakfast, a large open lobby combo breakfast area, and a fitness room that combines with the laundry room.
Bring a Bluetooth speaker too for music. We have cut our cable at home and do not watch commercials. There are no pay channels in their nice size LED tv and the only channel for zero commercials is PBS.
I would say management could ask Hilton to splurge for pay channels or put Rokus in all the rooms until they update their TV’s to smart TV’s and supply Bluetooth speakers for music to be played via smartphones. We enjoy...
Read moreOverall, the hotel was clean and got the job done. There were some little things though, that were a bit irritating. Although we booked our stay weeks in advance, we were placed in a handicap accessible room. Not the end of the world, but the hand rails all over the bathroom and shower kind of detract from the vibe I'm going for on vacation.
A couple other issues with the room:
The electric blinds didn't retract in the living room. They only went up about a third of the way, making the natural light pretty minimal. Again, not the end of the world, but annoying.
The shower had a hand held wand. Probably because it was in an accessible room. I like the wand, but the hose for it had a hole in it, which caused water to shoot all over the bathroom. No biggie, I can turn the hand held portion off and use the overhead shower head.
The shampoo dispenser on the wall had no shampoo in it... no excuses.
Because the bathroom could accommodate a wheelchair, it was huge, with a lot of wall space. Yet for some reason, all three towel hooks were about 18 inches above the toilet. Why not on one of the many empty walls?
Only one side of the bathroom vanity had lights that worked.
The air conditioning unit in the bedroom seemed to be broken. The high and low settings did not affect the little amount of air that was being released.
There was also some dude that was chain smoking right outside the back door. At least he was outside, but God forbid he stepped 20 feet away from the building. For both days of my stay, the stench of cigarettess filled the hallways and infiltrated our room. Not the hotels fault, but God damnit.
Again, all of these things were just a bit annoying... and to be fair, I didn't complain to the staff to try and get it fixed. The room seemed clean and got the job done. The breakfast was good, and...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️ Two stars for trying, but Hilton—you know better.
As a longtime Hilton Diamond member who’s drifted into the warm, welcoming embrace of Airbnb over the years, I rarely stay at hotels anymore. Why? Because too often they forget that comfort isn’t just about the mattress—it’s about the experience. Sadly, this Home2 Suites in Las Cruces was a textbook reminder of why I’ve made the switch.
Let’s start with the basics: the front desk staff was friendly, and the room itself was clean and functional. So far, so good. But the minute I stepped out of the room and tried to enjoy any of the actual amenities, things went south faster than a snowbird in October.
No towels in the pool area? None in the fitness room? Come on. It’s not like I was asking for a champagne fountain or a massage therapist named Sven—just a towel. One towel. For a location that touts comfort and convenience, the absence of the most basic essentials in both areas felt lazy. And don’t even get me started on noise—once again, zero effort in moderating the late-night door slamming, hallway echo chambers, or stompy upstairs neighbors living their best 2 a.m. Zumba life.
I didn’t check in expecting The Ritz, but I did expect a level of consistency that used to define the Hilton brand—especially for loyal Diamond members. Instead, I got a stay that felt like an afterthought.
Hilton, if you’re reading this: I want to love you again. But if you’re not going to manage your amenities or create a restful experience, I’ll keep giving my business to superhosts who actually care.
Las Cruces Home2: Close… but no...
