This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but they have a new cook who burns the food all the time. I went in with a friend and she couldn't eat her coconut shrimp because it was burnt so badly, and the waitress didn't do anything for her other than offer to replace the meal and by that time my friend said she completely lost her appetite. My friend refuses to go back here to eat now. I took my aunt and uncle here and he couldn't even eat the food. The manager gave us some expired gift cards but said they would still honor them. When I used them, the majority of the food was burnt again. There are days the food is great and days the food is burnt. I recently ordered almost three hundred dollars worth of food, but recently the manager, Demetrius said he would replace my entire order, but when I called in to place my order, Brian, the owner/manager refused to honor my replacement order that Demetrius offered to me. Unfortunately, I won't be eating at Outback Steakhouse since Brian is treating me like a thief for reporting my food was burnt and trying to get the replacement order as offered by Demetrius, the manager who was on duty. I guess I've learned not to eat here anymore. Outback Steakhouse used to be a great restaurant until Brian bought the restaurant. My uncle has eaten at Outback Steakhouses all over the country, and he says the Las Cruces Outback Steakhouse is the worst Outback Steakhouse he's ever eaten at. Brian just lost great customer, and he doesn't seem to care!!! Demetrius is a fantastic manager, and he truly knows what customer service means. Demetrius should be the owner and only manager. Brian used to be good, and he was more fair. It's unfortunate how he treated me. I have money and don't need to complain to try to get free food. I only complained because my food was burnt AGAIN!!! I will be trying to contact corporate since nobody has reached out to me. I guess the good Lord is trying to tell me I'm insane for going back to this place to offer you the opportunity to try to get it right, but obviously since I keep doing the same things over and over expecting a different result I am insane. You would think Brian would take the criticism and use it to make improvements to his restaurant and talk to and train his cooks on how to cook without burning food, rather than treat his customers badly and chase them away like the way he's treated me. Demetrius should be promoted!! I was informed twice that the regional manager was supposed to contact me, but he never did. I contacted corporate but never heard anything back from anyone. I'm going to keep trying to contact someone with corporate. Highly...
Read moreHaven’t been in awhile. New menu.
Cheese fries were well portioned, but only a sprinkling of cheese and tiny ramkin of ranch. Not worth the $10.99.
Brown bread was nice and soft, side salads were good, but there was so little dressing we weren't sure there was any at all. The blue cheese chopped salad is no longer chopped, it was just a premade salad mix with huge chunks of cabbage.
Ordered two steaks, one was excellent, the other inedible. I literally took 2 bites, that was it. Huge chunk of fat on it and way to much seasoning. Tried scraping off the seasoning, but it was too done and tough. The baked potato wasn't fully cooked, so also inedible. The sweet potato was very small and burnt so when you tried to eat it, there wasn't any potato to eat. It was a watery slush inside a burnt shell. Most of the coconut shrimp were also burnt.
This particular restaurant's management used to be OCD about checking in with patrons on how their steak was cooked, if it was done to their satisfaction, and if they left most of their food on their plate, a manager asked if they didn't like it and tried to fix it. We weren't asked if our steaks were done right and when I was asked if I wanted a box and declined, with my dinner plate hardly touched, the server said nothing.
Then when I got my bill I was charged for a top shelf margarita when I ordered it straight from the menu. I figured she pushed the wrong button or something when ringing it up or I got the prices mixed up. So I asked the waitress and she said most customers want the top shelf. 😳 So she chose to upgrade my drink to increase sales. The very small, but admittedly tasty, margarita was $9.50 on the menu and I was charged $11.50. That's a huge no no. And $9.50 is to much for a tumbler sized margarita. We went to the Double Eagle last night and the margaritas were cheaper, bigger, and they rimmed the sweet margaritas with sugar (I don't do salt). The margarita I had here was about the size of a martini.
So $72 for one edible dinner is just to much. I tip well beyond 18% for good service but she just got the minimum of 18% because I know that's what she got taxed on. But I've never received this poor of service here before. I'm very disappointed and probably won't be back to this location. I ended up going to Whataburger afterwards for a chicken sandwich. After paying $85 for dinner here.
I used to work here about ten years ago and this is not the service I was trained to provide. I also tried to do the review on the kiosk and it kicked me out...
Read moreI had a bad experience in August on a pickup order. I ordered prime rib and was given what was supposed to be a bone in ribeye as a replacement without being given the choice. It was more like a tendon and meat glue ribeye. I complained and was given some gift cards to remedy the issue. Fast forward a month and I used the gift cards after making a special trip to the restaurant earlier in the day to make sure I could get prime rib later in the afternoon . I got something similar to prime rib but one piece was put on the grill and burnt and I’m pretty sure the other piece was cooked by chef Mikey due to its texture and color. It was dry, tough as nails and my friend who we were celebrating couldn’t even chew his. I did contact outback online to let them know of the situation but I don’t want more gift cards because I’m not willing to try it again. Other than the passers by who don’t know any better, I don’t know how this place stays open. The communication breakdown is apparent after 3 people apologized for my wait and one of them admitted to forgetting to check on my order. I would rather have been told the truth ( that they only had rare prime rib, or that they didn’t know how to properly cook it) than having smoke blown up my butt while standing at the front waiting for them to massacre my food attempting to get it to the right temperature. I know we all have off days but after explaining to them that this was a celebratory dinner for a friend of mine that recently chose to live instead of continuing to wish for death that they might try to get it right. I tipped 20 percent plus on a to go order and even gave the server the last of my gift cards to give to the table of her choice. Moral of my story: don’t go to the outback on Telshor in las cruces unless you want to be forgotten, given tendon and meat glue passed off as steak and be completely dissatisfied...
