Stayed here last Saturday for Buisness and i had to work 4am to 10pm in 90 degree heat with no AC and had to get up at 6am on Sunday for another whole day of work and this was by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed at and i always try to see the positive in things but i cannot find one here and this will be my first one star review ever. First pulling up to the hotel at 10:30pm after working 18 hours all day there was either gang activity going on in the parking lot or some domestic violence incident as there was like 20 people running around screaming and some of them were crying in cars not what you want to see pulling up to your hotel, Second the guy at the front desk was no help getting into our rooms as our company had booked them so had to wait 10 minutes in the lobby to figure it out and pay the incidental fee, Third after getting our room and keys we go to the room he wrote down which was on the 2nd floor and was next to the 2nd room we had booked and they didnt work and the keys for the 2nd room did work so it was extra frustrating so we had to go back down and get new keys and the new keys didnt work either so we had to go back down again and the front desk guy realized he wrote down the complete wrong room number and floor so we finally got to our correct room on the 3rd floor which smelled like weed on this floor and the room was pretty average for a hotel wasnt bad not great, didnt have suitcase holder in the closet so had to put my suitcase on the floor as the tables didnt have enough room which i never like having to do, But the 2nd room from what i heard was a complete mess and was dirty with black mold on the shower curtain so our room was fine the other room was not, Fourth i went to get Ice and took one of our 2 rooms keys and i happened to grab a room key that was not working and on the 3rd floor the ice machine is behind a key reader but luckily i remember the ice machine not being behind one on the 2nd floor so was able to get ice there and bang on the door to be let back in but like come on with all the stuff we have already been through to also have only 1 working key out of 2 was just bad, and finally on top of all of this they Charge you for Breakfast so i didnt care that we had to leave before breakfast started. The only thing that is fine is the location right next to the highway with an Arby's, Jimmy Johns, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe in the parking lot but there is also a Howard Johnson across the Highway that looks amazing and i felt like i was being taunted cause its so much nicer than this Holiday Inn which i dont think i would of ever had to type knowing Howard Johnsons but that place has 4.4 stars on google so i know its good. But yeah this Hotel is just awful its like the Travelodge next door in the shell of a Holiday Inn i would never recommend staying here and it has brought down my opinions on Holiday Inn's even as an IHG rewards member i will be sticking with Holiday Inn Express from now on not that i ever booked other IHG brands in the...
Read moreStarting off with entering the lobby, it was uninviting, only a Front Desk and a Coffee table - big room, nowhere to hang out and wait, everything was in the restaurant and bar area, which just looked like a large 80's hotel bar. No Breakfast like other properties, and no vending machines on floors that I could find, seeming that they wanted you to purchase food from a restraunt instead of quick grab items - other sites have a section by the front desk to purchase, but was not evident. Front Desk Staff was courteous, but really did not feel like other visits to other sites. I feel bad for the front desk staff, they had one stool for him to sit at, and no back office area that they could relax out of public view, looked like a security guard not a receptionist.
Going to rooms, the carpets were stained, doors had lots of scuff marks. Elevators had wet floor signs in them whole visit, and first night had looked like someone spilled something stickey on tile floor, next morning it was clean, but evident that the tile floor in elevator was bad choice for a propertly with pool (seemed like the portable wet floor sign was a permant fixture in the elevator)
Inside the room, the bed was EXTREMELY high, almost had to jump up to get in (wife has a broken leg, and difficult to get in), then counter was built high to allow refrigerator and microwave to sit under, and the only outlet was by the "desk" (pull away table that fit under the counter) was about 3 or more feet away over by TV, had to stretch cable to do any work on a computer on the awkward desk. The bathrooms were pretty decent, the best aspect of the whole experience, but seems to lack of care by the staff with a roll of bathroom tissue that only had a few pieces remaining, immediately had to change the roll. Carpets had lots of stains and some cutouts where it looked like were burned or something in the past. Chairs (2) in rooms were old 70 lounge chairs that were on wheels and not sturdy for someone that had a broken leg to sit down on and feel safe, only option was for her to JUMP up into bed.
overall not bad properly, just dated, and needs some care put into it with some extra perks to make it want to come back to in future trips.
I will not be stopping at this...
Read moreI arrived at the Hotel very late and called the desk ahead of time to let them know that it would be a late arrival. Check-in was fine but disappointed about condition of hotel. The carpeting throughout the Hotel was dirty and stained and my room was not very clean. When I got into the room I went to turn on the TV but could not find a remote and had a couple of drinks that I put into the refrigerator but had a difficult time because the door was broken. Was late so I did not call the desk and decided to let them know the next day since I would be staying for another night. When I finished work and came back to the hotel the second night I explained the issues with the room to the clerk and she gave me a TV remote and said that it "should" work addressed nothing about the fridge. So I took the remote to the room and it would not work so I even went online to see if there were directions to program it to work for the TV. After an hour I determined that it was not going to work so I called the front desk and told her that it did not work and I would like to get a remote that would work. She said she would check into it and see if she could locate another remote. I never heard from anyone after that concerning a remote of the fridge! I understand that the current situation with COVID-19 places certain restrictions on services but I would have expected the offer of a different room or something besides being completely ignored. My job required me to stay a 3rd night but I decided to stay at a different hotel. I checked out and reserved a room next door at the Country Inn and Suites. Not only was the room lass expensive but the hotel and room were much cleaner and everything worked. The staff was also much friendlier and helpful! I participate in the Holiday Inn Rewards Program and am at a Gold Level Status. While travelling I traditionally stay at Holiday Inn because they seem to be consistently clean and have a friendly staff. Well I guess that is not true everywhere. Truly sad this hotel was quite expensive per night and was nowhere near the Holiday Inn Standards that I have traditionally seen. This will make me rethink which properties I should stay at...
