I'm a local Google guide, I do not receive any incentives for my reviews they're strictly my own experiences. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I always look for new places to visit, just because. We all need a little personal time right. So I found this hotel, based on good reviews, good pictures and good response time by the owners. Responses from the owners show integrity. The ground was well salted and shoveled which is nice when you're wearing 6in heels, the rugs just inside were nice and dry to wipe your feet. Then you're greeted with a very elegant welcoming scene and staff. Never once did I see the front desk empty. Which you would expect but let's be honest that's not always the case. Checking in was quick and the staff was soooo kind. The manager or owner I'm not sure her title but she was also present I asked about designated smoking areas and they do have a very nice one out front. She offered to turn on the fire pit all night for me. I thought that was so thoughtful, that had to be so much propane to run it all night like that. If that's not integrity and compassion for your guest I don't know what is. I forgot champagne glasses and they had these adorable plastic flutes, with covid shutting everything down and business recovering, for them to have these on hand was extraordinary. We're not talking about 1000 dollar a night hotel here where you expect them to have on site flutes. I got a room on the 3rd floor so after checking in we headed to the elevator, exiting the elevator we were greeted by a cute bar area that I must say was pretty up to date. Lots of pretty bright colors. We get to our room and upon walking in it smells nice and clean, I checked for dust and any signs of lack of cleanliness. There were none. I'm pretty particular about this. You can tell when a room hasn't been properly cleaned, the floor lines where the walls meet each other will have dust. There was none. Also you can tell when a room has been smoked in even as a smoker myself ( not a inside smoker at home) . This room smelled so fresh and clean. Comfortable with the room we unpack. We fill the jacuzzi to wash it out, as I always do, even with running the jets the water was crystal clear. No debris from past tenants. Just another sign of a properly cleaned room. This room was well thought out, tissue next to the bed for that middle of the night sneeze, bath towels, floor towels and soaps on the tub ledge and shower door, also spare ones under the sink. Reading lights so you don't disturb your significant other with your late night reading or scrolling. The jacuzzi was awesome, equipped with lights, oxygenizer, jet streams and regular water pressure streams if your sensitive to the hard jets like me. Also there's a shower head so you can enjoy a little touchy feely wash time with your significant other it was also very spacious. Online it says a 2 person tub but it's def big enough to fit up to 4 people, but very comfortably as a 2 person hot tub. The shower is a rain fall shower that also lights up. We checked in a tad late and were kinda sad that the pool closed at 10 but to our surprise they didn't close it and we were able to enjoy it later at night. It was soooo warm, I couldn't have asked for a better temperature and the design was beautiful. There was also a sauna unfortunately we didn't have a ton of time to truly enjoy the benefits of the sauna but we did spend about 5 mins in there and it was lovely. All in all I absolutely loved this whole stay from start to finish. As an added bonus there's a Tim Hortons directly across the street The breakfast was a tad bit small. I usually go for the eggs and sausage patties on a bagel. There weren't any eggs or sausages but there was a nice variety of other foods. I will absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone and will be back in the near future. I have two other rooms I'd love to stay in and review as well so stay tuned. I had to shorten my review to fit Google's rules. it also...
Read moreY-IKES. We spent less than 12 hours in this hotel, and it was plenty. After a LOOOOONG day of travel, we were "greeted" in the lobby by a woman who clearly would have preferred to be anywhere else. We got a room with a pullout couch so that my son and daughter would not need to share a bed. When we got up in to the room, the couch would not open and there was no bedding for it. After multiple attempts to get the bed unjammed, we called down to the front desk to ask if maintenance could assist. The same woman that "greeted" us answered the phone and begrudgingly stated that she'd come up to help with the bed and bring bedding. She arrived with 2 sheets in her hand and proceeded to try to get the bed to open. Eventually she yanked it free (we were helping the whole time) and she worked on one side while I set up the other. Essentially, the bottom 1/3 of the bed is an entirely separate piece and you have to guide each side into a track to attach it to the rest of the bed. Once she finished, she turned to leave. We asked her where we could find the pillows and blanket for this bed (as she only brought up sheets). She could not have been more bothered, but did return with a blanket and one pillow. My daughter sat on the bed at the side that our "helper" had put together for us completely fell off. She ended up just sleeping on 2/3 of the bed because we were all exhausted and over it.
The room itself was a mess. Once the bed was unjammed, the area underneath is was full of straight up garbage. The whole look of the room was "lipstick-on-a-pig" chic and the beds were ROCK hard. This was clearly converted from a different hotel on the smallest budget imaginable. The entry door was poorly wrapped with a wood-look decal which was peeling off. The door knob to the bathroom was not the same size as the one before it and there was no attempt made to try to correct that. The paint from the ceiling was over-sprayed onto the dark brown crown molding. The bathtub was secured with a drywall screw straight through the fiberglass. I mean, I could go on for another hour but I won't.... Anyone involved in the completion of the work and CERTAINLY anyone who signed off on the completion of this work should have lost their job and found one better suited to their skill set.
We didn't bother with the "free breakfast" both because it ended at 9am and because I had a sneaking suspicion that the construction crew may have been switched over to kitchen staff once the project was complete.
I attached a pic of the wiry pube that was left on the bathroom counter to summarize the housekeeping portion of this...
Read moreAn employee without announcing who they were or tried calling the room to wake us up tried entering our room at 2am while my boyfriend and I were sleeping. We woke up scared thinking someone was trying to break in and do who knows what to us. We were half dressed since we were sleeping. The door opened, and again no announcement of who it was so my boyfriend ran over and stopped the door from opening while I called the front desk in terror. No answer on the phone. My boyfriend was able to push the door shut and hold the door closed. We were in shock and scared someone would try to come into our room unannounced at 2am our last night staying there. I tried calling the front desk again and a man answered. I said "someone just tried breaking into our room!" They said "it was me, Im coming up there again." I asked for their name and why they needed to come to the room. They wouldn't answer me. I asked why wasn't the room phone called first or why they didn't announce it was hotel staff knocking on the door at 2am. They still didn't answer my question. I hung the phone up and called their customer service number. While on the phone with customer service, we get a knock on the door again, this time its the police. We open the door as Im still on the phone with customer service. The police are there with a worker who had no name tag on or visible uniform indicating he works there saying to the police we refused to let him, we caused damage to the room. I let the man in with the police present to inspect our room, nothing wrong with the room at all, the worker said there was flooding and that's why he wanted to come into the room at 2am. There was no water on the floor. The worker accused us of flooding the room, said we refused to let him in and told the police we were kicked out. I asked to talk to a manager about what was happening. We rushed and packed all our belongings in disbelief of what was happening. I repeatedly asked to talk with a manager, we were told to call back at 9am and talk to Ruth the manager. We were kicked out of the hotel with no where else to go at 3am. We made multiple attempts to try to talk to Ruth the manager but she never spoke to us. Found out the mans name was Trey who was trying to come into our room at 2am. After MULTIPLE phone calls we received our money back. DO NOT STAY HERE. THE STAFF ATTEMPTED TO COME INTO OUR ROOM UNANNOUNCED AT 2AM. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG/ILLEGAL GOING ON AT THIS HOTEL. STAY AWAY!!!! Also the...
