An imitation of the famous mile high New York style corned beef and pastrami delicatessen. Corned beef is solid but not knock your socks off good. Prices are high for this type of item because of the large amount of time it takes to make corned beef or pastrami. That being said I do think they are a bit out of touch with market rate. Their pound corned beef sandwich is more expensive than katzs deli in New York, the MOST famous deli in the world that also upcharges because of its fame. If you're gonna charge more than an establishment like katzs your corned beef better be the best on planet earth, and while it's good, it's not THAT good. Going rate for other similar pound sandwiches is around 22 dollars or so, which a lot of people wouldn't justify for a sandwich but corned beef is expensive. I'd classify this as a luxury item, it's not something you could justify getting for lunch every day, you'd go broke.
Also as a side note I read through some of the other reviews and the owner seems condescending and writes paragraphs explaining why it's the customer's fault that they didn't like the food and that they HAVE to charge almost 30 dollars for a pound sandwich. I'm not sure of their business model but you can objectively say compared to similar products this is overpriced. At that price point you could buy a ribeye steak dinner, or get a corned beef sandwich, which I think is why so many people feel it's not a great value.
4 stars for taste, minus 1...
Read moreI had an original corn beef sandwich on Rye with Swiss Cheese and Mustard and an order of fried pickles. The corn beef was cooked properly and wasn't lunch meat grade, it was good and a great quality. There's nothing bad I can say about the sandwich because it was delicious besides the price. It was very expensive for the size of it. I'm used to going to Fo-Fo's and getting the best Corn beef Sandwich you ever had in your life at an affordable cost but those days are long gone and I always compare other restaurants to his when that's what I order and I haven't came across any close to his. In fact the Bread Basket is the only place that came close in comparison to the meat. Just no where near the size and twice the cost. That's what made me give them 4 stars vs 5. With that being said, I will return and I plan on trying something else because it was so good, the restaurant was very clean and the lady that was working was very helpful, went out of her way to do so actually and not to mention she was very professional and very friendly. Service with a smile, that's rare these days but I found it there. Give them a try, you won't be...
Read more2 "large" meals cost over $34. The sandwiches were decent sizes, but the fries were not a "large" quantity and the large drink was about the size of a McDonald's small. Once they loaded in the ice, there was MAYBE an inch worth of actual drink. There is no order menu before you get to the window so if you've never been there before and have no idea what to order, you're going to be clueless going through the drive through. Everything was pretty fast though, the workers were super nice. I can understand why they never seem to have much traffic. I personally think it's way overpriced for what you get and won't be returning. I dropped one star for the price of food not reflecting the amount you receive and I dropped one for the fact that unless you've been there before and want the same thing or unless you go inside, you'll have no clue what to order. We had absolutely no idea how much anything would cost because there was no menu beforehand. I should have just told my husband to keep driving.
Again, however, it tasted great and none of this is the fault of the workers. The lady who took our order was very nice, helpful and...
