Dear Mark Kaylor, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the service I received during my stay at your hotel, WoodSpring Suites in Linden, NJ, on August 17, 2024.
I arrived at the hotel at 10:05 AM after having been checked in over the phone the night before for my prepaid reservation. Upon arrival, I had to wait until 11:15 AM for the front desk agent, Danny, to finally show up. When he did, he completely disregarded my presence, prioritizing his food delivery before acknowledging me. When he finally addressed me, it was with a dismissive "How can I help you?" He then proceeded to handle my request for a room key without verifying my identity, which is concerning from a security standpoint.
Unfortunately, the key card provided did not work. After two unsuccessful trips back to the front desk to resolve the issue, I was told to come back down instead of being offered the courtesy of having a key brought to me. When Danny finally agreed to accompany me to my room, I was left waiting by the elevator for several minutes, only to find him eating again when I returned to the front desk to check on the delay.
When Danny and a female staff member finally arrived at my room, they discovered that the door batteries were dead. Despite their efforts, they were unable to fix the door or provide me with a working key or an alternative room. It has now been 40 + minutes since this ordeal began, and I still do not have access to my room.
This entire experience has left me extremely agitated and stressed at a time when I should be able to rest and enjoy my stay. The lack of professionalism, hospitality, and basic customer service is unacceptable.
I think it is fair to receive a resolution to this matter, including appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and stress caused.
Thank you for your understanding
Sincerely, Daniel A My stay continued
I was in room 332 which I found out was a known problem room with its lock. Front desk didn't bring me up a key they were going to change my room. Front desk said they can't leave the desk as the reason for not bringing me my key or escourt me to my new room. There where 3 people at the desk. The next two rooms was locked and occupied.... it took me 5 tries to get a room with a key that works and the staff was more than happy to have me keep going up and down unsuccessfully. It seemed like they were enjoying being obstinate and not helpful. I was the only race getting this treatment the other two men in the lobby were treated great while I was getting attitude.
I have never been treated like this...
Read moreStayed here last minute to not have to travel all the way home after a full day of events away. Found out that we didn’t do enough research to know what we were in for. This place has the thinnest hotel room floors, so guests on floor above made for such disturbing noise when pulling out chair from desks and simply walking; stomping around. The noise felt like someone stomping on your head all night into the morning. Cigarette smoke & loud conversations at night from what appeared to be a crew hangout in the back of hotel; with hotel guests, a staff member and outsiders. A mess. Cigarette smoke traveled up into closed windows/vents into our room from this crew into our back hotel room window. We had to experience second hand smoking from all of the chain cigarette smoking on the first floor outside & some guest were obviously smoking in their room as it traveled through hallway at times and I’m supposing through the vents. Someone also kept leaving a rock to keep back door open which made for a not so safe feeling staying there. Outside of these major disturbances, the hotel staff overall were very helpful and warm. Room decor for a short stay is overall nice, neat & quaint with kitchenette, however, the floors were very dirty as my footie slippers & socks have never gotten so dirty from walking around a room as they did here. Someone’s skipping floor cleaning when guests check out for cleaning -probably because the flooring can easily hide dirt until you wipe it or walk on it with material it can show up on. Gross. Please improve these areas as this was a cute last minute spot overall on...
Read moreWe are on vacation with our special needs son who is 8. We decided to take him to sesame place then to Nickelodeon Universe. We booked a room here for the night between. First impressions of walking in, the whole building smells like a Marijuana farm. I have had nicer rooms at $30 motels than this place, and we paid $160 for one night. We have a double queen room. Sleeps 4. And we have 4 people with us. Upon arrival, the only toilet paper in the room was the almost empty roll left by the previous people. 1 wash cloth, 1 hand towel, 2 bath towels. Remember, the room sleeps 4. 1 bar soap, 1 mini shower gel. No mini shampoo or conditioner. Coffee doesn't exist here. Not in the room, not in the vending machines, nowhere in the building can you find coffee. My white socks were black on the bottom from an hour of walking around in the room. So I wet a wad of toilet paper and with one swipe of the floor in front of a bed it came up black. So that tells me the rooms don't ever get mopped. 2 forks, 2 butter knives, 2 small plates. Again, remember a room that sleeps 4, and we have 4 people. When I went to the desk to get more towels, toilet paper, wash clothes. I received them, but with sincere negative attitude from the 2 women at the desk. If I could have left a negative star review. I would have. But the lowest you can give is a 1 star. We won't be back. In my 40 years of life. Hands down the worst hotel...
