My nephew had a birthday the day before we visited this Friday’s. I couldn’t make it so the next day after his game we came to eat at TGIFriday’s in Linden, NJ. We were seated right away (the only plus to this story)! Because they were not that busy in house. There were a total of eight of us, two adults and six children. We had a nice waiter named Isiah. Upon getting there we tell the waiter that it’s my nephew’s birthday so he can get the fuss! We placed our order and just waited. It was about an hour into our dining experience when my sister realized we never got our drinks nor chips, so I went up to my waiter and he said, “Right!” Got our drinks. Now we are getting antsy with the food. Six children from teenagers to 9 years olds can be tough. I see a lady in a white shirt talking in the front room with some staff, I went up to her and told her we were about to walk out where is our food. She said, “Well your waiter is new.” I said, “That has nothing to do with the waiter. If we don’t get our food we are leaving.” She left to check. She came back out with two plates. So we think that the other food is to follow. Wrong… I waited another couple of minutes, went up to her yet again. This time she was at the bar laughing with a couple of other employees. I said, “Is the rest of my food coming out?” Thalia (now I know her name says to me,) he only has two hands! I almost lost it! She 1) threw this poor guy under the bus, and 2) she now was not even supporting her staff. She sees how annoyed I am and I say, “Who is your GM? I will be calling tomorrow!” All of a sudden she decided to go and help this new server. Ok fine we get our food, or most of us do. My niece was still waiting on her food. I yet again have to tell her my niece did not get her food. She comes out with my niece’s well done burger and we are ok bc finally we get to feed the kids. My son requested for broccoli and never got it. My other son’s girlfriend ordered a sandwich and they gave her something else. My sister’s sizzling chicken and cheese was not so sizzling at all and cold. We were just so hungry and tired so we ate. Then my niece finally cut her burger and it was rare (not well done as she requested)! We send it back to the kitchen, another one comes out (mind you this Thalia manager said it was a new one,) it wasn’t because we saw the original cut she made, but when she bit down it was still rare. My twelve year old niece ended up not eating! She was so disgusted with the burger she didn’t want to eat again… The manager Thalia went and comped a lot of our meal and then said “well I am taking care of your bill!” My sister and I did not care to pay and did not want anything for free, we just wanted empathy for the situation at hand and some accountability. So that comment rubbed my sister the wrong way. I had two to go orders I wanted to place and my sister had one. Did we do it?! Absolutely not!!!! We gave our business elsewhere. Then today, the next day I call the GM James. Ha! That was another joke. He defended Thalia as if he was there and saw it all. He had the nerve to tell me that she was not laughing at the bar, she was smiling at customers. I told him, “How are you going to tell me what I saw with my own eyes?! I saw the employee shirts that said Pride-yay! You were not there. Don’t tell me what I saw personally!” Then he tells me that they were extremely busy and had to send some people home due to insubordination. I told him, your floor was NOT busy and your take out was. James then tells me that Thalia handled the situation greatly. What?! Are you kidding me?! He pretty much sided with her even though was not there. Oh and my nine-year old nephew never got his birthday shout out!!! Omg how can I forget my other nephew found a hair in his food!!! Needless to say, I will NEVER go to that TGIFriday ever again. And possibly no other one!
PS She only wrote that message on my receipt because she already knew I was calling the GM the...
Read moreGreat place for drinks and appetizers but I would not recommend it for dinner. The sevirce was exceptional. The waitstaff was super great. Her name was Marie. I alway order the Henny wings. Can go wrong with wings. They were delicious excelently cooked .I asked for it to be cook hard. Extra sauce just like I like it. got the spinach and artichokes dip. Horribly chunky. Not like a dip at all Then it was topped with bread crumbs that just made the entire thing worse. We order the ribs with salad with no mash potatoes. They did bring the potatoes. The taste was more then horrible. It seam as if they pour the entire bottle of pepper right on top. We send it back and we found out that they come all ready seasoned all they do is cook it. I guess means burn. This things was chart. But we send it back any way. Replaced with wings. We got the salmon with salad. The salad was good but the salmon was a bit fishy. We ordered steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was over cooked so it was hard. Other order was Salmon mash potatoes and broccoli. The salmon was rubbery not so good. Now the drinks were great. The Alabama slammer was nice and strong. The Diddy on the beach was just as good. The Friday Rita was great. I doble recommended. I had 2. We got the Barbados Rum Punch also great. There was a Hennessey drink we had but it was not as good as the rest. We spend 250 and tipped 40. There were 4 adults and 1 child. The next day everyone was vomiting and diaria. Except for me. I only had...
Read moreSo I stopped in here because I always trust Friday's for reliable good service & food. A storm was about to hit & I thought I would get a dinner before heading on my drive home after a long day at work. Left a client in Linden so I thought I would stop in this one for dinner & a glass of wine before the drive home. I arrive, it's Monday night at 9:30 & the place is quiet, 4 people at the bar & similar amount of tables. I sit at the bar after checking with the hostess that they are still serving dinner. I sit there for 20 minutes, no one in sight, no one to order with. Finally the manager, Chad, whose name I had to push the eventual barmaid to get, acknowledges me sitting there & asks what I would like. I order a glass of wine while looking at the menu, he says "fine" then engages in a conversation with another ignored customer at the bar for 10 minutes then finally serves me. I place an order for a NY steak medium. When it arrives with my new barmaid, it is very well done crispy. I complain, she apologizes, offers a new order, I pass since it's been so long & I have to drive home & by now I'm starving . She was very apologetic & accommodating, however I voice my complaint to her to tell the manager, which she does & after pushing how bad the whole meal was, the manager, whose name I finally got, Chad, has her discount my ticket $8. Never did he come out himself & $8 lost me as a loyal customer of this brand. Worst meal ever & I felt sorry for the barmaid that kept...
