Corona Motel — Hotel in Los Angeles

Its location -- slightly off the main thoroughfare, in a semi-commercial spot in a dreary neighborhood -- makes you expect that it is a cheap motel, but at $85/night (as of Mar 2021, tax incl.) the Corona is at par with the other non-chain motels in the SFValley, though it offers noticeably less in elbow room. The rooms have one night stand instead of two, it has a large mirror but no closet space, the sink is three steps from the bed. These things may not be important to many who check in here, which explains why you lose this space without and equivalent reduction in price.

One thing nice about the place is it gets rid of the dreary motel curtains for these nice wooden slats that control the light from the outside and give the room a nice, controlled ambience like a dimmer switch for sunlight. Like many motels, the cleaning ladies here serve patrons with that contemptuous look on their faces. What is strikingly different is the absence of the usual rabid manager-persona that greets you when you register. So I was supposed to stay here for a few days to quarantine until I found a better motel and I ended up staying here for a whole week, as soon as I entered my room, the room smelled great, the sheets, walls and carpet were clean. This is one of the cleansiest motels I've ever stayed at. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area, this place was very quiet as well. The parking location, ticket booths, facilities, food, shopping, bathrooms, and directions, everything is perfect and I'm very impressed every time I come back here.
