STARLIGHT INN — Hotel in Los Angeles

It's getting harder these days to find a motel under $100 that isn't unclean, unsafe or unsavory for any combination of reasons. With that challenge my girlfriend and I, needing an inexpensive place to stay during a recent visit to LA., decided to give the Starlight Inn Valley Blvd a try. It didn't start off well but ended better.||First thing we always do is throw off the bed cover and carefully inspect the bed. Turns out there are no blankets available - only the sheets and the cover. Worse, we found hairs on the sheets. This didn't exactly make us feel comfortable staying the night. However, even though we arrived a 1AM to check in, the front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly, apologetic and accommodating. They promptly replaced the sheets and the bed cover with freshly laundered ones. The way the staff handled us as well as the following pros bumped my rating up to 4 Stars:|1) Room and bathroom otherwise clean and spacious|2) Bed and pillows surprisingly comfortable|3) Great air conditioning kept the room nicely and consistently cool|4) Free refrigerator and free WiFi|5) Nice hot shower with good water pressure||Overall a good value for the money if not a little rough around the edges. IF YOU WANT TO GET DISRESPECT, BUT HAVE A AVG. PRICE ROOM TO STAY AT. THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! I used to stay here a few time but my last encountered with them made me not want to come back ever! So, I went to go get a room the other night and the guy helping us was rude for the start. I said hi and he just look at me so I continue to talk to him by asking for a room he told me the price and the he told me I had to pay a deposit. I asked for what he said for the room. I asked him why am I paying a deposit for the room when I'm getting the room now? Then I asked him was this a new policy he told me no. They always charge people for a deposit .I told him i stayed here plenty of times in the past and I was never asked to pay a deposit. He got mad and started yelling saying everyone had to do. I was like okay whatever. So I asked him when do I get my deposit back he told me MAYBE TOMORROW WHEN I CHECK OUT! I was so mad at that point I told him I'm not staying here anymore give me my money he didn't want to give it to me... so I asked him again slowly telling him to give me back my money and he threw it at me. So I will never stay here again ! Wouldn't even recommend...
