Artemisia Nursery — Local services in Los Angeles

During the pandemic, I got into California Native gardening and completely relandscaped my parents' front yard. I spent a lot of time at Theodore Payne as well Hahamongna (and also at smaller local nurseries). The plants that Artemisia sells are top notch. Their four inch containers are bigger than others and the plants we've purchased from them were ALL well rooted and in excellent health (can't say the same for TP or Hahamongna, even though I'd pick up plants from there if Artemisia didn't have them in stock). Our Artemisia plants are thriving in our garden. Would definitely recommend. They also have a lot of plants that are sometimes hard to find at the larger nurseries! Tucked away in an industrial area of the city. Easy to miss if you're speeding along with the flow of traffic since the signage is very discreet.

There is no parking lot. Recommend parking across the street along the railroad tracks because curbside parking is usually all taken.

This cozy neighborhood nursery specializes in California native plants in mostly 1 gallon and 5 gallon pots. Nicole helped me with plant and seed suggestions for a pollinator and hummingbird friendly garden.

I was pretty disappointed with a demeanor of the employee that was working at the nursery today. She seemed to be in a bad mood, she didn't have good eye contact and she was very temperamental while asking questions about plants I was looking for. She seemed to keep getting very annoyed and raising her voice at me and it eventually made me uncomfortable and then I just walked out. Please train your team to be more service oriented, let alone, learn politeness. I will not be coming back here. So sad because I wanted to support a small business instead of Home Depot, but maybe I'll find another nursery, a kinder staff.. thanks for ruining...
