Our recent stay at this hotel was lackluster at best. If not for the friendly and apologetic attitudes of the staff on site we would have demanded a refund and moved hotels. I’ll start with the good, because there are some notable positives to this hotel. The greatest benefit is the made to order breakfast. If you like omelets, you’re in for a treat. The breakfast spread is generous and there are tons of options. The staff we encountered were friendly and as helpful as they could be given the circumstances. A quick peek at the fitness room revealed what looked to be a nice set up with a peloton bike (IFKYK)!!
Our first disappointment was the room itself. Upon entering we were hit with a terrible smell; something akin to spoiled laundry. It was dark and dingy and simply felt unclean. The worn out furniture gave a distinct college bachelor pad feel. The trap door in the bathroom was fun, but once you got the hang of twisting the knob up to get out, it worked. The beds were comfortable enough to allow for sleep once the noise from the atrium died down.
The evening reception was a small spread of finger foods. Unfortunately, this experience basically equated to what can only be described as feeding time a piranha exhibit. They did offer 2 free drinks per adult, but they were terrible. I tried a margarita and had to give it back. The pineapple rum cocktail was also a no go. They were both over poured with cheap well liquor.
If you’re thinking of staying here to enjoy the pool please know that max capacity is 36, so think small. Tiny rather. This was by far the biggest disappointment of the stay. The pool was so crowded they were having to rope it off to keep people from going in and even talked about setting a time limit for people to be in the pool. The staff was visibly overwhelmed by the madness that was ensuing. All that came to a screeching halt when a kid threw up in the pool and subsequently closed it for what we were told would be 24hr. It did re-open late the next day, but ewww, no thanks.
After voicing our concerns to staff we were brought two gift bags of snacks which included a can of soda that had clearly been dropped and was bulging to the point it couldn’t be opened. I was promised a call from the manager the next day. It didn’t come. At check out I again requested to speak to the manager and was told he’d definitely call that day. Currently, I’m still waiting to hear from him. It’s been over 72hr since I first requested to...
Read moreI had really high expectations for this place since I was always told great things about it. Now this review doesn't obviously reflect the chain of hotels, just this one. My biggest issue with it is that you get this suite, expecting it to be comfortable and spacious, and instead it wasn't.....all that great. The biggest issue was the bathroom. It was so small that the toilet is almost practically on top of the bathtub. The next issue with it is there's no place to put your towels when using the shower to dry off. The whole stay there, if someone needed a shower, we would have to leave the bed area because they would need it just to grab the towel. Other than that there were minor issues that were bothersome like how the key cards didn't want to work till after the 4th time going to the front desk, or how the walls around the pool were so thin that you couldn't really ignore all the sounds coming from it, which was especially annoying since it was opened till 11 pm. Now for the good parts of the hotel. One of the major selling points in my opinion is their Manager Special, or Happy Hour. At around 5:30 everyday they bring out snacks and give out free alcohol drinks. Now it's a simple one liquor or beer type of drink, but it's still free. The next thing is their breakfast. They do have a full breakfast with biscuits and omelettes that you can order. So if you want a good breakfast hotel this place fits that niche. The last good thing was the pool and fitness. This hotel probably has one of the best fitness rooms I've seen in a hotel and the pool also has multiple deep parts and is a pretty good size. Bonus with the hot tub. The only complaint about that is the floor in there. It's not slip safe and obviously always wet. I wouldn't have your kids go in without supervision because of how bad the floor is. My family had to tip toe everywhere because we were afraid of slipping. All in all, I give the place a 3.5 even tho Google only lets me do a 3. It's still a nice place to stay as long as the bathroom doesn't bother you, and honestly some might view the perks worth the negative issues. I will say what separates this hotel from others is the interior leading to the rooms. Definitely made us want to sit out around the hallways instead of staying...
Read moreRead most of the reviews before we stayed there, the reviews said older hotel, but in good condition. Please do take in consideration it is a old hotel and you can tell. We had about some issues that we were not please with . The issues were they advertise there is a balcony, so I would only assume I would be able to use it, but no, it only opens so much where you can not use it, and they have a bolt where you cannot open it the entire way to go out on it. When we got to our room with 2 queen beds, I look at the comforter and there is a stain, I called the front desk and they had house keeping bring me a new one in a decent amount of time, but she walked right passed me and said she will remake the bed. I opted for her not to do that and so she said she will take the dirty one, so when I was going going to point out the stain she said yes I know on the top, so basically she sounded like she knew it was there. The pool was closed but the front desk did not inform us of this when we checked in, they kindly pointed to where the pool is located and the closing time. When we went to the pool with my child dressed it was out of order. The plus of all of this is they do have happy hour, very cheap happy hour but it is a added plus, so we ended up doing that instead of swimming. They do put out some snacks to eat while you enjoy you drinks which is great because they had gold fishes for kids. But they also had a modeling competition of sorts going on and they place was a zoo, the people that did not have a room reserved, that were ONLY there for the modeling competition took over the tables and all of the food, so when I went to help my self with my child there was a tiny bit left of food, and they would not refill it, so she was very disappointed. So the next morning we woke up and my child has little marks on one of her legs, never did figure out where that came from, but it is still odd. When we checked out i did mention that and the front desk said she would give us 50% off but ended up just $50.00, did not call not worth my time because I would...
