My husband and I got here around 1:10pm on a Sunday and got on the waiting list for a party of 2. The hostess said the wait for 2 people would only be 15-20 minutes. They were pretty busy so I figured it would be a little bit longer. After 30 minutes, we checked in with the hostess and she said there was only 2 more parties ahead of us. After about 45 minutes we were finally able to sit inside because the people in the indoor waiting area were seated. A woman asked a question (not rudely at all) about when her party would be seated and the hostess was not friendly. After the woman turned her back to walk away the hostess made a rude face at her, annoyed with her question. Right at the hour mark we noticed a party of 5 who arrived AFTER us get seated. We brought it to the attention of the hostess and she said they were waiting on a big table for us. We were confused because we only had a party of 2, so we reminded her of that. She said she had us down for a party of 9. We reminded her we only had a party of 2 and she confirmed it was a party of 2 when we put our name down by saying “15-20 minutes for a party of 2.” In an annoyed tone, she said “oh my bad I guess I misread my handwriting and wrote 9.” Without an apology, she had one of the 4 hostesses seat us. Our waitress was very friendly and we asked for the manager immediately after getting our drinks to inform him of the incident with the hostess. He was very apologetic and offered us a free appetizer. However, we had already ordered our food since we had been waiting so long so we asked for a dessert instead and he agreed. The waitress was very apologetic as well. However, the service was extremely slow. She hardly checked on us at all while other tables had their waitress come by at least 5 times in between when our waitress came to the table. The fries with my order were so tiny, flavorless, and crispy I couldn’t eat them. I asked her if they were new (this was my 3rd time here and the fries in the past were fluffy and delicious). She said they ordered the wrong ones so they weren’t their new fries just temporary ones. After our dessert came we had to wait a long period of time again for the check. By this point the restaurant was relatively empty because the rush was gone (it was now after 3pm) so we were confused how it was still taking so long. We are very disappointed in our experience here and will...
Read moreMy family and myself are from out of state so we were looking for a nice restaurant that we don’t have in our home town, something different!!! I seen this restaurant with great reviews so we decided to eat here. Employee’s were very nice. The service for the food coming out wasn’t so great tho. The first couple plates came out, but my kids wanted to wait for everyone’s food so we can eat together but because the food wasn’t too hot I told them to just start eating. It took about 15-20 more min for the rest of the plates to come out and as the server was bringing out the tray full of plates she dropped a plate full of food on my 7 month old granddaughter car seat that we had propped up on a chair. Thankfully we had just took right before this happened because she would had been hurt pretty badly. The server did apologize. Unfortunately my son had to wait another 20 min for his plate to come out because it had to be remade. By this point we are all very disappointed because none of our food came out hot so I wasn’t sure why it took so long to be served! I ordered a steak so mines tasted pretty good with A-1 sauce and my other son got a burger that he liked but the Mac n cheese, dumplings, chicken fingers or chicken fried steak had absolutely no flavor. About the time they brought my son’s food that the server dropped on his daughter’s car seat we were all ready to go so he had to eat what he could and take the food to go. We weren’t offered no compensation or discount for the situation with the dropped food, the waitress didn’t bring us out any napkins or towels to clean the food off the car seat or even tried to clean up the mess. We paid our tab, tipped the waitress and left but I will never return here and I advise anyone that’s not from the area to not eat here either because the other customers looked at us like if we did something wrong as soon as we walked through the door. Not a very good experience for my...
Read moreIf I could give this place less than one star I would and you sure don't want this General Manager to give you any assistance because he is right and in regards to the conversation I just had others who speat to him need to slow down and listen to him...he doesn't want to hear anything a guest has to say. I come from a household where we do not eat bacon or anything cooked in bacon and their green beans are. But when he is telling a woman (my wife) she is just going to have to take what is given, but backtrack very quickly when speaking to me trying to cover his tracks like I did not hear the entire conversation. So we placed an order by calling it in to the store for the family sized chicken spaghetti and sub the green beans for broccoli rice casserole. Add a family side of mac and cheese and got a gallon of unsweetened tea. The gentleman who took our order was very kind and completely understanding of my family's religious preference when it comes to our food. We were informed that it would take 30 minutes to be completed and be ready. He thanked us for the order. About 20minuets passed and we live roughly 10 minutes away from the lubbock store so my wife and I start heading that direction and as we are on the way the general manager calls to not only tell us that they can not give us the chicken spaghetti and that even if they could we would have to take what we were given. And when we were ready to place our order correctly then would need to call him back directly to place our order correctly. Not only is this unacceptable for any establishment to tell me im going to take anything but after my religious reasons were explained to be told there is nothing that could be done. I have placed that exact order before and had it correct so I would like to k on when cotton patch cafe no longer accepts the Jewish community in their...
