Bad experience from the start to the finish. Which lasted 1.5 hours, for a 3 night stay. Me and my girlfriend felt uncomfortable when checking in and it only got worse. We arrived to find a dirty room and a smelly reception area with what looked to be a needle cap on the floor. Being outside of our normal locality we tried to make the best of it , But when we went to look for the advertised pool we sadly only found the seasonal one frozen over.
After finding out that there was no pool we wanted to find a new hotel for sure ! So I started looking, and we found a holiday in 30 minutes away with a super nice pool and the same cost.
The woman behind the desk at the Best Western refused to refund the charge, even though there advertisement was incorrect. Seemingly they keep these false adds up, to get overflow from the other surrounding hotels. But when there is vacancy at these other hotels, they cannot play the game they are use to playing. Raising her voice came easily to the woman and it became a very hostile environment.
Also I reached out to Best Western, this location has been kicked out of there chain since 2016! But they still display themselves to be Best Western affiliated.
So now we have to dispute the charges. Document the issues and pay for the next room we are currently in. I'm happy we have the ability to do all of these things.. I truly worry for the people who see this hotel as a good deal to only find out they are in a CRACK SHACK.
The hotel should not raise its voice especially when we are speaking very normally to them. I was shaking with emotion horrible experience when your trying to have a Vacation.

Read moreI rarely post negative reviews about my travels, however I feel that our experience needs to be shared. I have stayed at the Ludlow Colonial Motel (Best Western) 3 times in the past 5 years. Our accommodations were always clean and comfortable while the front desk area was extremely shabby and the grounds unattractive. Last week we were there again for a girls getaway. It was obvious that the conditions outside have continued to decay and the front desk area was less than welcoming. We asked for a room with 2 queens and were given 1 queen and 2 sleeper sofas. Asked for and recieced a change of rooms that had 2 queens. Upon entering the 2nd room, the door just fell open. Was not latched. Couldn’t even get the dead bolts to engage. The hardware was falling out of the door....no way to latch the door shut. We returned to the desk. I asked for a refund and told management we were extremely unsatisfied. The manager went to the room and insisted he could fix the door. We did not feel safe after he acknowledged that the door appeared to have been “jimmied”. He was unsure if he could refund me and insisted he could fix the problem. Ultimately, we were refunded and gladly left....never to return to this establishment. New owners have run the place down to the ground. It’s atrocious! What a shame.||||The owner sits at check-in desk. Takes him 20+ minutes to check you in and requires a bunch of unnecessary paperwork. Way behind the times. Pray there isn’t another customer in front of you. Extremely rude and speaks broken English. Lobby looks like it had not been vacuumed in weeks. He quoted my wife one price on the phone and charged us a much higher price upon arrival. Completely unethical.||||The wall paper is peeling off the walls of the room. Ceiling paint peeling as well. Found the previous guests socks & chapstick adjacent to the bed.
