We will never stay at this hotel or any other Quality Inn ever again. Upon arriving, the hotel looked run down and we were told they aren't offering the free breakfast that they advertise, but, hey, it's been a hard year, no big deal. Got to our room and were met by a stuffy heat wave. Would've been nice if the A/C had been turned on for our arrival, but I'm sure that falls under the Understaffed umbrella. Went to open the window and doorwall to the balcony for some fresh air and saw the inside sills covered with dead bugs. The doorwall was incredibly hard to open and the screen door was leaning up against the wall outside. We couldn't get the screen door to go onto the track so we reported it to the front desk. They said maintenance was coming the next day to deal with a list of other repairs so they'd fix it then. They have a very prominent sign at the front desk informing guests of the beach flies that are currently in mating season and warnings not to leave your door open without the screen because your room will get infested and they won't be able to take care of that for you. Gross, but makes that screen door all the more important. Went back to the room, unpacked toiletries and noticed about two dozen dead flies in the bathroom sink. This was not helped by the bare fluorescent lightbulbs over the sink and in the bathroom. Washed the dead flies down the drain, swept the dead bugs off the window sills, and hoped we wouldn't find more bugs anywhere else. The next day, we left the room and returned in the evening to find the balcony door still broken. During check out the following morning, we let them know the balcony is still an issue. The gentleman at the counter apologized. I asked for a discount on our room since we couldn't use the feature we paid extra for and was told the manager wasn't in yet. I asked if the manager would call me after he got in and was assured he would. The manager never called me to discuss our stay. Spotty wifi didn't even work most of the time, peeling wallpaper, every piece of upholstered furniture stained, television propped high on top of the huge cabinet that used to house an old tube tv, flower beds empty of flowers but containing weeds, bare lightbulbs, and no concern from management about repairs that are needed for guests to use their rooms the way they are intended. It's obvious at first glance that there is a lot of deferred maintenance at this property and that it needs updates galore, but neighboring properties all look kept up and groomed. Rooms are poorly maintained. No Service. Manager is rude and abusive.
First time, room keys did not work. Not a big deal, I went back and got them replaced. Came back and actually had to shoulder slam to open the door. I was shocked and disappointed to see the room. Its the smallest room I have ever seen. We tried to close the door but my girlfriend was unable to do so (I had to slam it back). I was too tired so did not pay much attention. Went to bathroom and basin tap was splashing water all over outside basin. AC was not much effective either so I went back disappointed and asked to change the room. I did not like receptionist's behavior but she finally gave me a new room so we moved our stuff. Second room was the same. AC seems like 2 decades old. Only fan was working. I waited for a few minutes but it kept blowing hot air. There were webs on curtain tops. I was tired and pissed at this point. Went back and told them. She clearly said they can not change room again. I asked to see the manager. Manager walked in like and was totally unprofessional. Dressed up unprofessionally and his rudeness level was sky rocket. I politely told about the scenario but by his body language it seem he knew it already and is not going to do anything. He said he cannot do anything except call maintenance. I asked him if there is any estimated time maintenance can be there because I was super tired and just wanted to sleep. He rudely said maintenance is available till 2 AM and he can not tell me anything more than that. Unsatisfied with quality of rooms and services, I asked for refund. He clearly denied it and told me its post cancellation time. Hell, I made reservations just about an hr back right on their website not even 3rd party why can't I get a cancellation. I told him, he is not ready to listen to the issues, has no resolution and rooms have basic problems like door not opening so I need my money back. He had no explanation and started shouting and using foul language. He literally asked me to get out of HIS PROPERTY. I asked for his name, he told me its none of my business. I asked the receptionist she said she is not allowed to tell it too. What kind of hotel can not tell name of manager? . Finally, he had to refund our money when I kept asking for an explanation on why he cant. But he was way out of line and being too offensive and abusive. Being the only brown people on the reception my girlfriend felt scared and felt he was being racist. Never ever again...
Read moreUPDATE posted below due to change in rating. Was a 5 and now not so much. Clean. Friendly staff. Decent rates. I saw a few negative remarks, but I have stayed here a few times and never had many of the issues. Of course when I go it is to sleep and spend time wandering around the shops. I also enjoy the pancake chef for breakfast.
Stayed here again... 9/27/2021 decided to change my rating which was a 5 to a 2 star which is nice. I had the rudest woman with zero customer service skills. Had an attitude since the first call we made to book a room. I was appalled since all the other times I stayed here the staff was very friendly. Then the room was dirty, soap dish was filthy, both sinks in the room water pressure was through the roof sprayed every where and there were water stains on the ceiling (might need roof repaired) assuming it is from the rain. The room also needs a stair to get in because it is like about a foot or more off the ground. Hope no one has heavy luggage that they need to bring in the room. I also recommend asking about the room they are paying for if you are handicapped just so you have a welcoming experience and don't have to struggle getting in. I will no longer be giving my business to this place or recommending it to friends or family until they get better customer service and clean up the rooms better. I was amazed how bad it got since my last stay here. Not impressed at all. Also I had a door that was hard to open let alone close. I had to slam the door to close and almost fell over trying to open it. Please fix this before someone gets hurt. I don't think an older individual would be able to open the door if they had this room. Also can't tell if that is clean laundry or dirty outside at 10pm hope it isn't clean. Wanted to add one more thing unable to get on the internet and that wasn't an issue in the past. Someone should have this place inspected because it is long overdue. Huge shame that it went downhill and to see reviews about paying over $200 for a room for a single night not worth that price at all. Breakfast was also non-existent even though it is mentioned.
