Strait to the Roots — Restaurant in Mackinaw Township

I was so so excited to see juice and smoothies in the area. I live in a large city, but have lots of family in this area so I am there often and know it well. We stopped in with our two kids on a slow day and ordered 4 smoothies, a parfait, and an immunity shot. If I were to rate based solely on food, this would be a very disappointed 2. :( But I'm not going to do that because the people were very friendly, the space is very welcoming and looks great, and reviews are very important to businesses and I don't want to do that.

But...I was so disappointed in two of our smoothies that I feel the need to write a review. We ordered a Michigan and an Erie. The Michigan was almost inedible. The liquid portion of the smoothie was very thin, but the main problem is that the ingredients didn't blend together well. It was so so chunky with pieces that didn't fit through the straw. :( The Erie was very off flavor wise and so so thin like a juice. I am a smoothie junky and have been to lots and lots of places in many different states, so none of these ingredients were new to me. Kids loved the parfait, immunity shot was great, and the kids liked the two mango smoothies well enough although they said it was very heavy on the orange flavor and not a lot of mango.

It could have been an off day or a one time mistake, but I would urge the owners to double check those two smoothie flavors to make sure they're smooth and blended well. Thank you for being in the area and making such a...

We found this little treasure as they were packing up and leaving in their food truck at the Mini on the Mac rally. We were too late and missed it. We googled it the next day and decided to check out their actual cafe. We also own a a smoothie/pressed juice cafe in Green Bay so we like to support other local cafes on our travels. We were greeted warmly by all the staff and were even allowed to bring our “doodle” in and they offered him a pup cup with fresh blueberries which he loved. The sweet little girl there, maybe the owners daughter, was feeding our dog the pup cup and loving on him. He definitely loved all the affection. The owners mom was sooo sweet and friendly. Our smoothie and smoothie bowls were delicious and they were so accommodating to customize my bowl. Great experience overall. The food and coffee was at best mediocre and the service was even worse. We ordered an açaí bowl, a bagel with cream cheese, 2 cold brew coffees and a mixed berry muffin which totaled $37 not including the tip. The açaí bowl was chunky and not thoroughly blended, the coffee tasted watered down and didn’t have much flavor, the bagel (which they had completely forgotten about until politely reminded) was a Thomas brand bagel and did not have enough cream cheese. They had also forgotten the muffin we ordered and when reminded, they handed us the incorrect flavor. We went back up to the counter to ask for the correct flavor and the worker proceeded to package another muffin with an attitude. She then asked in a sarcastic tone, “Is there anything else I can do to make you feel better?” Overall, the atmosphere was extremely chaotic and the food was overpriced for the quality. Would...
