Surprisingly clean, great location. RM 212 / King bed

The hotel is sketchy looking on the outside; It's reminiscent of dirty motels we all know and avoid.

This one might change your mind. It's surprisingly clean and had zero sightings of bed bugs (my biggest fear with budget hotels). There were small visual quirks like a chip in the floor and walls that seem to be panel over cement? It's a sturdy building and despite being on 2nd floor, I felt as though I could walk fairly heavy footed without disturbing anyone.

The check in was quick & friendly. They have WiFi that worked very well (over 10mb/ps all night). They do not have an ice machine.

During the day, the traffic is loud. A constant HOOOOM of cars, the occasional revving of an engine, horns... Etc. You may not sleep well during the day here. At night, it was very quiet as the roads were mostly empty.

I was up until late doing studies. There was a nice office area provided in the room. The microwave and micro fridge were clean and worked well. The TV had great reception and lots of channels.

The location is perfect. You really do not need transportation when here because everything is in walking distance: Aldis, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Casey's, Hyvee, Walmart, Burger King, McAllisters. It's a great location.

There were also soap and body wash provided in the shower which I thought was so cute. It was actual Dial as the label claimed (not refilled with off brand, you could tell by the scent haha!) I loved that the light over the bathroom sink worked, even though it was older and I expected it not to turn on.

The bed smelled like nothing (great!) And had zero signs of bugs or dirt. It was comfortable and I enjoyed it.

Checkout was quicker than check in.

I travel from Ohio to Macomb once a month to see my daughter at WIU. I stay at star motel every time being a mile from WIU. I love the room, and the people who run the place. They got Micro-Fridge in rooms and Nice TV service with lot of channels to watch .The owners are very friendly, they go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. I was very happy in staying here and and definitely would come back and stay again when we are in the area. I recommend this motel to anyone traveling in this area. Great location it is an older property but is being fairly well maintained The hotel is located across the street from a grocery store and easy access to great restaurants The motel doesn't look like much from the outside but the room was very clean and comfortable The price was very reasonable which makes this motel...

Great motel id rank it along with most named hotels I've stayed in for a week. real clean and the wifi works great better then most hotels I've stayed in very dedicated place to essential workers, price is the cheapest in town. Only reason I would give it 4 stars is because the rooms and bathroom are a bit small and has a slight oder to them. Nothing frebreze couldn't handle tho also no ice machine, not enough outlets and the ac doesn't get extremely cold, we like it about 60 when we sleep. The only thing we really didn't like at all about the room was that there wasn't a security latch that we could lock on the door to keep someone from coming in. My wife is often in the room by herself while I'm at work. But if you look past that its a great motel id definitely...
