Don't Do It! I traveled to Mississippi to vacation with friends. When I travel I always chose Hilton because of their sincere mission to provide quality service. So when I traveled to Mississipi I reserved a room at the Hilton Garden Inn in Pearl Mississippi arriving March 27th staying for four nights. When I arrived on March 27th the parking lot was under construction as a patching job was under way in the far right portion of the lot. They tore up half of the parking lot and eventully blocked part of the entrance. On the morning of 3-28-2017, my friends and I went down to breakfast upon my return to my room the housekeeping staff had removed the towels from the bathroom and left a bowel movement in the toilet (no they didn’t bother to flush) I reported this to management and they said they would investigate the matter and get back to me. I had to refuse room service for my entire stay. Management never acknowledged what happen during my stay. On the morning of 3-29-2017, I went down to the Dining room to order breakfast. I spoke to the chef and ordered eggs over medium with a side of toast Kathleen Rayburn (waitress) yells across the room for my me to get the bread and butter for myself. As, the chef had acknowledged my breakfast request I replied that I was not talking to her, then Kathleen Rayburn yells in in response I am not waiting on you. I responded ok and proceeded to the sitting area. Kathleen then informs Miss Ruby the other waitress, that she is not serving “that B*!@*.” Kathleen said it loud enough as it appears that she wanted me to hear her. I did not respond to Kathleen. At this point, I was very upset. I went to the front desk to let the manager (Collette Turner ) know that Kathleen called me a (B*!@*). As I am making my way past Kathleen, Kathleen say “go ahead take a number you won't be the first to complain.” I spoke with the manager on duty and repeated what happened. Kathleen approached the desk and admitted to the manager Collette that she call me a B*!@*. Kathleen admitted that she called me a B*!@* the Manager (Collette) asked Kathleen to clock out. I returned to finish my breakfast and made my way to my room. Twenty minutes later I returned to the lobby for coffee and Kathleen had returned to work. After my stay Collette the Manager reached out to me and I am unsatisfied with her response. I thought this matter could be resolved internally however it has not. This experience has seriously spoiled the Hilton Mission and Vision for me. Room Tip: Protect your belongings and bring bathroom cleaner. Stayed: March 2017, traveled with friends

We stayed at this hotel three times pre-covid and always found it to be clean and comfortable. However, after our last stay we will never stay here again. Prior to arrival we were given a free "diamond upgrade' that we never asked for. We were 'upgraded' to a basic room with a queen bed, instead of the King bed we booked, and the bathroom had a whirlpool tub, instead of the shower we expected. The hoopty looking whirlpool tub (see photo) did not have a shower head, it had a handheld spray nozzle on the side of the tub, and the hose wasn't long enough reach the top of my head (I'm 5'2"). There was no holder for the handheld spray nozzle shower thing, you had to put it down while you soaped up --kind of like a shower in a camper, except this is a Hilton, so it was rather unexpected. To label this room as an upgrade is laughable. Besides smaller bed and the non-shower, the room was dark (not one lightbulb was brighter than 25w), the decor was tired and overall the room was dingy (although maybe that was due to the poor lighting?). The wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, the carpet was filthy and the chair had a mystery stain on it. The hotel grounds were nice, plenty of room to walk our dog, but beware the bridge over the lake to Bonefish Grill, it had broken/warped boards, protruding nails and a hole that had caution tape around it. Fortunately for us, our stay in this hotel was just one night. We were shocked at how run-down this hotel has become in the four years since our last stay. It's really bad. We've stayed in seven Hilton brand hotels on our two week trip across the US, and this one was the worst by far. We do not recommend.

This hotel is NOT CLEAN, from the elevator to my room. If I could have cancelled my reservation without loosing my money, I would have without hesitation! The room smelled like someone had been smoking in it when we opened the door. The shower door was nasty and dirty, around the outside of the shower it was moldy with rust. Inside the shower was not clean, we had to go purchase shower shoes to take a shower. The shower head looked like with was coming detached from the wall. The corners in the bathroom had dirt buildup. One of the nightstands had something all on the side of it, not sure if it was dried vomit or milk. The only good thing, the sheets on the bed and bath towels were clean. I would have thought with it being a Hilton hotel, as well as the location(Madison, MS), I would be pleased and it would have been clean. But, ABSOLUTELY NOT! Even the elevator was dirty, the wall paper in hallway was peeling and looked dirty. I felt like I was at a motel 6. I couldn’t wait to check out Monday morning before 7am! Hilton, I was VERY DISAPPOINTED and I expressed it to the checkout staff as well!!!

SIMPLY AMAZING STAFF

During the week of March 20, 2022, my family and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, Madison, MS. On March 22, 2022, a massive storm ripped through the area, which brought with it hazardous weather to include lightning storms and tornadoes. My family and I have not previously experienced such weather. Staff at the facility were very well prepared and reassuring, but that is not the story. Around noon, tornado sirens went-off as the weather conditions had gotten very ugly outside. About the same time, a school bus filled with middle-school students from Madison County School District pulled-up in front of the main lobby. I wish I had the bus driver name, as he deserves recognition for making the right decisions and thinking of safety first. At this time, the whole management team from the hotel was in the lobby monitoring developments and assisting hotel customers. The management team welcomed this group of students (30 to 35 kids) without any questions. Additionally, staff at the hotel were very attentive to the kids’ needs and helped calm some of them down when things were getting tense. They kept them engaged, busy, and preoccupied. As the system moved closer and just before things got worse the Operations Manager, Quinn, took the boys to a safe area on one side of the hotel, while the Front Desk Receptionist, Dany, took the girls to another safe area on the other side of the hotel. As a father, this was so impressive for me to watch and thinking if my kids are in the same situation, I would want Dany and Quinn there helping them (sorry Dany and Quinn, this is the price you pay for being good!) Again, this team was well prepared; they took care of their customers, and handled this unexpected situation professionally. In the end, the system passed through and everyone was ok.

Normally, I do not wright review. However, I wanted to write about this after witnessing it unfold before me. These are the intangibles that people do not write about and the right people are recognized. Therefore, to the management team at the Hilton Garden Inn, Dany, Quinn, and the unknown bus driver, THANK YOU! Keep up the good work...

Let me start off by saying I’m not one of these people that rate a 2 star just cause I had a bad day. I stayed at the Hilton in Madison Mississippi on Saturday June 10,2023. When I first arrived customer service was great the lady at the front desk even let me check in early and gave me 2 bottles of water, which I appreciated especially driving all the way from Houston Texas. My first time staying at a Hilton but I assumed all Hilton brands was a top spot to stay at. After checking in and paying the $165 around 12 noon I was in room 231. First glance at the room it was pretty clean and smelled fine 4 stars for that. The remote to the tv barley worked and was missing the back piece that holds the battery in, but not complaining about the batteries kept falling out. Around 10 or 11 pm I went to my truck to smoke a BLK Smooth, band good ole Madison police came and harassed me. They came checked my license and insurance told me to step out the car because they been called cause someone was sleeping in they car( mind you I’m in a truck and I’m African American), The victim was caucasian. After repeatedly telling them I had booked a room for the night and trying to show my room key they wasn’t hearing it.

I even told them to go check with the two women inside. So after that heading back to my room there was a dead roach across the way like 4 doors up in front of room 226. I went back into my room to use the bathroom and a smaller roach came crawling down the wall which I killed and flushed down the toilet.

After that I was done about 1am I packed my stuff went to the front there was two ladies and a man I told them I’m from two 231 n I’m checking out early. I also explained about the roaches. I didn’t even ask for a discount or refund of the $165 I just went and stayed the rest of the night at my moms house til I left the next day. Maybe I should have stayed at days inn or red roof inn ( joking). Kinda disappointed for a first time...
