When you get Labor Day off work, you find one of the only coffee shops in the area that is open, bonus points if that coffee shop is new. Let me tell you, we have been lacking a quality coffee experience in Madison County. Drowning in chains, your options are sticky floors or inconsistent brewing. But BOY oh boy is this one a winner. Walking in you are welcomed by bright colored sweets and fresh pastries. The bar style counter allows you to see the employees hard at work but still very pleasant. The barista who took our order was very helpful and willing to answer any questions, like "what even is a hornet?" The seating area surrounds the coffee bar/counter and is so spacious, I didn't know what to do with myself. Gone are the days of sitting at cramped cafe tables a foot away from Susie dishing all the gossip about Brians new girlfriend. Need to work? Drive here FAST cause you may actually be able to concentrate. I tried to take pictures but as you can see, we couldn't wait to try our drinks and they didn't last long. If you order an espresso drink, you have the option to select from multiple beans. I of course went with a milder sweet bean which is the first time I've clearly been able to taste the chocolate notes. My husband went for the most popular option and enjoyed it equally as much. Just take my word for it, you need to try this place out.

Stopped by Tamper yesterday to try their coffee with my husband. 5/5recommend!! I haven’t found lattes as good as the ones I’ve had in my Japan/South Korean living except for a place in CO and now TSC is up there with them. ā˜•ļø Firstly, you can tell they care about quality & single origin sourcing above all else and you can taste it! It truly makes a difference, & TSC if you don’t compete in coffee competitions - you should start lol. The recs: The Raf & V60. The Raf is an amazing fall latte special and it’s like drinking a warm hug in a mug. The V60 is divine. I actually grind and brew my own V60 at home and it’s a damn good cup coffee. Try them, you won’t be disappointed! We didn’t try the food so we’re not sure how that is, but their case looked like it had some good options. The inside: It’s very Japandi Industrial aesthetic, though it could use just a little bit more warmth impo. The lighting is a bit harsh, tone it down with some warmer bulbs or a different hue and it will feel a little warmer and inviting. The decor and beverage delivery is 10/10 though. Overall though a great spot to work, catch up, and meetings. Please expand if you can in the future, Mississippi and beyond need more quality coffee establishments like yours. Thanks for serving us! Will be back! ā˜•ļøšŸ¤Ž

Have been on multiple occasions and we are grateful a shop like Tamper is located in Madison. PROS: No frills, high quality coffee. Coffee purists will appreciate the sourcing and selection of the coffee. The stoneware presentation of the coffee is also really unique as well. Love the expanded late evening hours that many other coffee shops in the area don’t offer. Appreciate the pre-portioned water carafes that are freely available for customers to use. CONS: The wifi connection is usually spotty at best and you can’t rely on having a consistent wifi connection available if you come in to work and study. The staff usually doesn't offer any options to fix the wifi situation when asked. The AC air vents also blast cold air directly at a lot of the tables and couches at all times. This makes a lot of the seating areas absolutely MISERABLE to sit at. We’ve started to avoid coming here because of these issues. Overall, we want to love this coffee shop and if the issues with the temperature control and wifi were fixed, it would make a huge difference. Hoping these are corrected in the future so we can support this local business and rely on this shop as a regular spot to enjoy coffee while studying and working.

This is my second time coming here to study and have a little snack & iced coffee. The first time I came there wasn’t a very warm welcome. The two ladies were talking amongst themselves and decided to finish their conversation before greeting me or acknowledging my presence. I ordered, sat down and waited for my beverage to be called. Overall, coffee was great and i got my work done.

Second visit, I decided to come back because I like the arrangement, very modern and nice. I decided to get something an hour after being there. I’m waiting in line as the taller lady is taking care of a guest and the short girl is talking trash about the guest she just served. I ignored it because we all have bad days but guest issues shouldn’t be talked about in front of other paying guest. I assume they take turns in taking orders because I got the short lady… she turned around to cut her macaroon and eat it before she came to me yet I had been there the whole time. I order, she’s very unenthusiastic and like I said this is my second visit, I don’t know the ins and outs like heating procedures of food etc. she takes my order asks here or to go and then says okay, I pay and nothing else is said to me….. I’m waiting and she starts doing something else so I’m thinking oh am I supposed to grab it my self? and I ask her, she looks at her coworker (the taller lady) like I’m slow and says ā€œit’s getting heatedā€ in a condescending tone. She finally brings it out and slams the plate and walks off. THE MUFFIN IS CRISPY ON THE OUTSIDE AND COLD ON THE INSIDE. This is my second time coming here and the service is unacceptable. As a person who works in food/ service industry I know being nice and having good customer service takes you a long way. Hopefully, IF I come back a third time, they know how to treat EVERY guest with...

Took my family here for a coffee after dinner. I'm kind of a regular coffee guy or maybe a latte. If you like regular coffee, they don't have it. The day we went the station with water and stirs had no cream or sugar or sweetener available. I asked about cream or sweetener and the barista people told me a story how they don't use them and people steal them. Ok that felt like a made up story because she maybe didn't want to restock the station... maybe not. I see the beauty in having an exotic coffee shop. I maybe would have enjoyed trying a good exotic coffee. But my coffee tasted weird to my uneducated tastebuds. Felt like I could have got through it with some cream and sugar. The good news was the cup and coffee fit well into the trash can once we got outside. Inside was cold and dark feeling. Felt like the owners were saving energy i guess. I see the pictures of the beautiful works of art coffees. They all look amazing! That wasn't our experience. They gave us our coffee to us in togo cups...lol! We bought a can of the overpriced stale macaroons that they don't make. It really wasn't good overall but I don't like to leave negative reviews, so i gave it a medium stars. Hopefully you will have a good cup like the pictures. Maybe we'll try it again one day. I'll bring my own sugar next...
