This was my very 1st time coming here to a hibachi restaurant, which was my wife's idea. I enjoyed seeing him cook the food right in front of us. Everything was hot & fresh. The staff was very nice & courteous. The food was definitely on point. I had the hibachi chicken & shrimp with grilled vegetables and onions & fried rice. Everything was good even the salad as well. The taste was better than what I was expecting. The budlight was nice & cold how I like. My wife had the shrimp hibachi & a Nagoya roll. We really enjoyed our visit and we will definitely come back to eat here again. If you haven't tried this place please put it on your to-do list.

The food here is always amazing! It's a great spot for lunch with an old friend or loved one. The staff is efficient & worked together. The sushi was freshly made. Our waitress never allowed our glasses to be empty. I was introduced to edamame & I liked it. 👍 My favorite is the Nagoya roll! You can't go wrong with the sushi or hibachi here!

I have been a fan of Nagoya for some time now. But I regret to say that my last 2 visits were awful. I went both times on a lunch date and both time I waited a hour for my food and both time I was late coming back for lunch. I only went back a second time to give them the benefit of the doubt. The customer service was also unacceptable. No matter what our request were we were given a negitive or no response at all. This time was worst then the last. Our table was sticky and wet and we were told that it had just been wiped down and ended up having to clean it ourselves. There was water on the floor in which we informed them of and even stated that there could be a lawsuit if anyone fell. Even where the water wasnt the floor was also dangerously slick. I had to brace myself to insure I wouldn't fall. Needless to say the water was still there when we left. The server and the hostess were not very friendly at all. When we informed them that I was on lunch break they told me my food would take 30 minutes, we asked if there was any way we could get it sooner and waitress said there was no way to heat up grill for just us. When my food arrived a hour after I got there it was not hot. My date also stated that the water tasted like tap water and we were told they don't have any bottled water. To top it off I went the restroom and to my surprise it was not any different than a restroom at the Exxon or Shell which are actually better because you expect that in a service station but not in a place where food is being perpared and eaten(Nasty). I am almost too the point of wanting to request the health department to come and make sure everything is as it should be....which I am pretty sure it is not. To sum it up....I WILL NEVER VISIT THE NAGOYA IN MADISON AGAIN. And I warn if you enter and things don't seem as they should just turn around and leave because I wont get any better...wish I had followed my first...

I didn't do hibachi and my usual order, chirashi was pretty much just ok. Fish wasn't super high quality or maybe a day old, not sure. They did bring out a complimentary bowl of soup, which was sadly miso which I detest, but politely ate it anyway. I asked if they had clear soup and was told they do not even have it. My meal also came with a delicious salad, which was super sweet, so I didn't quite eat all of it. The big highlight was the seasoned rice (which i tried to get substituted since I'm diabetic but couldn't get it done here for some reason🤨 but I ate about 1/3 of the bowl) . Super different taste profile that was not totally savory but had a slight umami undertone. I'm not sure what the rice was seasoned with. Neat presentation as it came in a cool two-piece service, but I forgot to photograph. I had gotten a shrimp appetizers, which came with fried veggies that were super good, and I think the sashimi just wasn't as good. I'm here on business and eat this same meal at many other Japanese restaurants, and unfortunately, this one wasn't quite up to my expectations. Also, the price was a bit steep, at $28 for the main entree. Usually, it's closer to $23. Meal and tax and tip was almost $40 and I drank water. I normally get a hot saki but didn't even look at it. Frankly, if your in the mood there is a better spot on Madison about 10 minutes away that is a great Japanese restaurant. See my other reviews. Service was ok but we had a...

We came here on Christmas day, and the place was packed. We have enjoyed eating here many times even with a long wait, so we stayed when they told us it would be 20 minutes to recieve our food. However, it was 50+ minutes before we received our food. Also, we ordered hibachi while sitting on the sushi side, and the food they brought us from the kitchen was clearly a different flavor, color, and preparation. It was lukewarm, despite the wait. It had such a strong pepper and ginger flavor that we could barely eat it, and all of us had stomachs aches afterwards. Our waitress was kind, but she did not inform us of the true wait time, and no one attempted to apologize or make up for the excessive wait. We will not be coming here again. I would have given them only one star for how awful the service was tonight, but since we have enjoyed their food before I gave them two stars. Also, the women's bathroom was filthy and covered in dirty...
