I'm all about deals when it comes to making hotel reservations. So paying double for a room was painful. This was an early Valentines gift for my wife, so frugality went out the window. So what did I get for the price? I got a very clean king room with a gas fireplace. The room was about double the size of a normal motel room. It also had a small outdoor covered patio. The bathroom was basically three rooms. One with the toilet, one area with a large counter space with dual sinks, and one area with a large walk-in shower (it could comfortably hold four people). The room was very clean and had room service daily. We had a small library in the room, bottled water, 4k tv (brilliant picture), and bathrobes in the closet. At check-in, we were greeted by a very nice lady, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, and a newspaper. The free continental breakfast consisted of bread, various cereals, breakfast bars, fruit cups, yogurt, sausage egg and cheese croissants, and some sort of egg and bacon sandwich on a roll that was very good. The orange juice and apple juice was real and not that orange or brown colored stuff that comes out of a machine. The breakfast room was very unique, and overall I give breakfast 5 stars. But one of the biggest amenities of this motel was location, location, location! I was able to park and not start my truck until we left. Everything is in walking distance! Needless to say, my wife was very happy. This makes me happy, and I can very easily give the James Madison...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of staying at the James Madison Inn for our wedding weekend. We got married at my sister's farm, in Madison, and were able to get a wedding block at the James Madison Inn for us and all of our loved ones. Barbara was exceptional to work with, as was everyone we delt with at the front desk during my MANY calls and visits to confirm and coordinate family rooms over the months leading up to the wedding. As wonderful as our experience was leading up to our stay, we were blown away with our actual experience in the beautiful hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed, everyone was super welcoming and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable and we really felt at home. You get a unique and memorable stay at this hotel, far superior to a normal hotel experience, all in a great location, within walking distance to the charming downtown shops and restaurants of Madison, GA (our favorite coffee shop is behind the hotel, hit up Oconee Coffee Roasters for you caffeine fix). Thank you Barbara and staff for making us feel like family and for tolerating us all for a...
Read moreI bought my wife wife a spa visit through the Inn as a way to have a relaxing day and have time free of children. Upon arriving to the spa, the masseuse had her 9 week old at the spa. She said the spa let her bring the baby because they were short staffed. We are happy the spa allowed the baby, but they did nothing to help with baby sitting. The baby cried a lot of the time during her massage causing my wife great stressed and almost tear up. The masseuse admitted the baby needed to eat and knew he wouldn’t make it through the massage. Upon talking with the James Madison Inn, the GM said that even though their website has a link to the spa that they are not affiliated, instead of a refund he offered a glass of wine. He also said he’d heard a lot of bad things about the spa and was severing ties. We were not able to call the spa a reach a single person as it always went to voicemail. Terrible service from the spa and can’t believe the hotel has the spa on their website and takes no accountability for their...
