Very Disappointed with the extra charges they applied to our bill. At least tell the customer first before charging extra for dressing. I wasn't going to post this because I sent the manager an email in hopes he would handle this, but after 2 emails, I had no reply, so I am posting this so everyone that comes here will know in advance. This is the exact email that I sent the manager (twice) We come to Madison often and always enjoy coming to your place, but we were there yesterday and we were very upset about our bill. Our son lives in Athens GA and we met him at your place for lunch.
I didn't notice it at first but later we looked at the bill and we were charged an extra $1.00 each for our salad dressings. At least when asking for extra dressings your staff should say something like, just to let you know, it's $1.00 more for extra dressing. Then the customer can decide or not if they want to pay this. I've seen this upcharge in the past at other places, but never $1.00 and we're always told about the charge beforehand.
Not really happy with AMICI right now... I hope everyone agrees that any additional charges on the bill should be stated beforehand. Lots of great places in Madison GA to choose from, so not sure why I didn't...
Read moreBeen going to Amici's for 20+ years and have continued throughout their rough transition Into the new facility hoping things would improve. Tonight was busy and we understand and appreciate that but when we waited for service and ordered asap we were told the bar had called last call a few minutes prior and we couldn't be served. Okay, we didn't love it but understood. The problem... a few patrons sitting at the bar itself were served after we were denied. Please understand we don't complain often and the food bill came to over $70 without drinks and our server received a $30 cash tip because I understand it was not his mistake nor intention to treat us differently. We know times are tough in the world and especially in a service industry like Amici's with proper staffing and workforce. See, this wasn't an issue with the kitchen or our server...it was an issue with management. If you're going to shut the bar down, shut the bar down.
We really wish we could have a positive experience and have our local support of your small business be appreciated and respected as many others in our community show. Hoping the Amici management team responds in a productive manner to move their service based business forward.
Thank...
Read moreWe arrived at the restaurant around 5:15. The bar area was busy, but there were no more than three occupied tables in the dining room, and we were quickly seated. And that was the end of that. Twenty minutes later, we left without having been either noticed or waited on at all.
There was a skinny waiter on duty. He had long dirty blond hair in a pony tail. He kept coming into the seating area, obviously looking to see what needed to be done, but his gaze swept right past us every time. Which may have been for the best, because he was also too lazy to shave, and bearded food-handlers are NOT acceptable ever.
It is unsanitary. It is a scientific fact that men shed hair from their faces at a much higher rate than from their heads. And a recent study determined that men, on average, have more bacteria in their facial hair than dogs do in their fur. Which is why male bakers are required to wear nets over their facial hair.
Amici when it was located in its former location was a nice, friendly, and intimate place to eat. That doesn’t seem to be true in its...
