This is the first review I ever authored. I stayed at Valley of the Sun RV park for three months this year (last two prepaid at a discount). This will be the second one star review posted in the last month. Do not stay here if you are a minority or intend to have any overnight visiting guests during your stay. Jim, (identified as one of the owners) told me that, "by law" residents CAN'T have overnight guests, under 55 AND who did not register upon arrival, for more than THREE days. I asked Jim to copy me with the referenced statute. He, instead called and left a voicemail (which is saved) stating that I will be charged $25 daily after the third day. Then the next day Jim called again (I was able to answer this time) and he arbitrarily changed it to "thirty dollars" for each day beyond three. Here's the rub, due to Management, having eyes on all vehicle and pedestrian traffic, don't think they won't be quick to use police to harrass persons they consider undesirables. Oh yeah, my visiting friend happened to be Latino and he was accosted by the Marana PD the FIRST time he walked to the retail store next door. Managment also demanded payment on the SAME day the electric meter was read monthly; no bill, no grace period and the office called my Sister in New York when they could not reach me (the day of the first reading) before close of business. My Sister originally arrived with me and was originally registered as a overnight guest without them blinking an eye. Did I mention my Family happens to be of European ancestry? Finally there are Long term (heavy equipment) projects on the property boundary which starts at 7AM and will require constant sweeping out of the debris entering the vents and...
Read moreWe have stayed here 3 times. The first year, the manager was helpful as it was our first road trip in our motor home. The 2nd year, we stayed 6 months. In spite of covid restrictions, we met many RV’rs that had been coming for years. We line danced in the street, properly distanced of course. This last winter, we stayed 4 months enjoying a “coming back home” feeling. With covid easing up, there was a plethora of activities available; Card games, park walking groups, cribbage, bingo, swimming & hot tub, 3 sessions of line dance a week at club house and zumba at the Marana community center. We enjoyed meeting more folks at the happy hour gatherings on Saturday. The grounds are kept up nicely. Some sites have shade. The laundry facilities are clean albeit well used and show evidence of need for upgrade. There is 1 each, men & women's bathroom and shower in the the clubhouse. We had to leave early this year to take care of some business but we have already made our 6 month rez for next year. As full-time RV'rs, VOTS IS...
Read moreSpent three months (Nov 2019-Jan 2020) in the RV portion of the park and was extremely pleased. From the beginning, the staff were warm, welcoming and ready to assist guests in whatever needs arose. Mike (Park Manager) and his crew were outstanding in going the extra mile to deliver quality services to the guests. The gravel based level sites offer plenty of room (we had a 35' Fifth wheel), quality water, electric and strong wi-fi. We would strongly recommend this location to any folks staying in the Tucson area. PS - There are quite a few "Return Customers" to this park, a tribute to the staff and its operation. A secondary benefit is a sense of family exists within the...
