I was having a terrible day. I had to walk 2 miles to the gas station next to Laquinta. I cut through a field and stepped in what i thought was normal mud. I sank to above my knee. I tried to get loose but managed to get my other leg in the same "mud". I had to go about 15 ft but managed to get out of my predicament. I was covered in red mud or clay and sweating profusely. I had another mile to go along the earth city expressway during rush hour. Btw my cell batttery was dead. Here i am in dockers a polo and leather wingtips. Im 48, 30lbs over weight pasty white. My pants are covered front and back, shoes and socks too in mud. Im overheated when i come walking out of the field. It was 6:30pm and plenty of people were making their way home. I pinned my chin to my chest and stared at the ground as i finished my trek. Very embarrased I walked into LaQuinta. A confrence of about 30 people had just taken a break as i enter. The young man at the front desk(4/22@615pm)gave a pleasant smile as i asked to use the phone. Seeing my sweat soaked and mud covered self he swithched gears and was awesome. The cab companies were not willing to show up just or didnt.(apparently the 5 mile trip i needed wasnt long enough) He never asked me to leave and i thought he would. I cleaned up a little but was making a mess and stopped. Finally i inquired about a room. In a matter of a few minutes i was on my way to a hot shower. Having 2 dogs i know which hotel chains are pet friendly and never stayed at Laquinta (they are pet friendly) before because theres always an Extended Stay very close for a little less $$ This experience including the room, was top notch. After my shower i laid down and woke up to the person at the front desk informing me that my cab had arrived. No Thanks. I was fine right where i was.
Being a sales manager i know what you can and cant teach. Ive always said that if a person has what i cant teach, i can teach them the rest. The ability to handle confrence emptying into the lobby, an ex employee who needed to talk about something or nothing and my sweaty muddy yuppy beat red face dead battery cell having self was impressive. The genuine desire to make me even a little more comfortable is rare. Heres a young man, probably around 25. He could have made any choice, he chose to serve and comfort. Compassion. Thank you. You are an assett to Laquinta and the St...
Read more👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿 This place is over-the-top disgusting. I checked in to room that had obviously not been cleaned and I had so much stuff I didn’t want to move, so I said I would deal with it and spoke to the manager and he said he would make it right. The next day I came in to the same filth such as hair in the bathtub, trash still in the can, dirty washcloth, toilet paper behind the toilet, and unvacuumed floors, candy in the entryway on the floor, dust buildup everywhere... at that point I did ask for another room and I was shown for different rooms and each one was exactly the same. I took a white cloth and every single time it was filthy. Obviously there is no reason to move from one filthy room to another. I travel at least nine months out of the year. As of today I have not been home since 15 September and this hotel is by far one of the absolute worst I have stayed in. The sheets had not been washed. The underside of the towel racks are all gross. The microwaves are not cleaned nor are the refrigerators. We book at least 2-4 rooms for 4 days to 3 weeks at a time. This place runs $112 a night right now. I have been staying in Springfield Missouri for the last six weeks for four days a week and booked three rooms out. They run about $50 a night and they are 10 times better than this place for sure! I was told earlier today that the manager is on vacation for some family emergency but this falls on the head housekeeper who is supposed to be following behind her staff to ensure quality control. I have videos as well as pictures and I have brought three different employees up to this room to take pictures and confirm what I’ve said. I will see if there is a call back .... It is really bad when their own employees second guess staying in a hotel that...
Read moreThe attendant at the front desk when we arrived (quite late at night) was apparently too busy doing whatever bc out want until after I got up to the room with a load of luggage and my family that I noticed he gave us the wrong room type (king bed instead of the 2 queen beds I reserved). When I went back down and told him of the mistake, he tried to blame Hotels.com for relaying the wrong information to them. However, I clearly remember that the form I initialed when I arrived correctly indicated our 2 queen bed reservation. So he quickly reprograms the cards and we go back up to the 3rd floor (still carrying much of our stuff) and after we get settled and start getting ready for bed, we notice the sheets appear used/dirty. We call to complain and the response is to offer us another room. At this point, we're halfway unpacked and kids are getting into pajamas, so we're like just give us new sheets. He says that no one is around to put the new sheets on, like he couldn't have offered and done that? So we just said, bring them up and we'll do it ourselves.
On top of that, the back door which was the most convenient for us to our room had a malfunctioning entry device, so on three occasions we had to walk around the entire building to get inside. We complained about it, but nothing was done by the time we checked out.
Other than that, the room could have been cleaner as well as the refrigerator and microwave probably having never been cleaned. Still, we survived and the price was not terrible, but I will think twice about...
