Love Clean Eatz Kitchen! We order in bulk, once a month, so we don't ever have to cook if we don't want to. I love that the price of the Bulk Custom Box has been reduced from $245 to $215. We can use that $30 to buy Clean Eatz Kitchen Cauliflower Crust Pizza and/or Empanadas, which we did this month.
I'm a Type 2 Diabetic with Stage 2 Chronic Kidney Disease, and a bunch of other ailments. I need to eat healthy, balanced, clean nutrition that still has seasoning and tastes good. I can't eat bland food, but even Clean Eatz Kitchen Basics meals taste good.
I've tried several other premade meal plans/meal kits, Factor, Trifecta, Fresh & Lean, Green Chef, Home Chef, Blue Apron. I've shopped all the Diabetic and Renal nutrition sites. Factor and Trifecta have excellent food, their downfall is how expensive they are and their subscription model.
They all want you to join an expensive weekly subscription plan. That's a hard "No" for me. I get paid monthly and I'm not giving anyone permission to ding my account willy nilly. I can't control my retirement budget that way, and though they all tell you that you have the flexibility to pause anytime you want, for an older person, there's just too many hoops to jump, and the tendency is to forget something. With Clean Eatz Kitchen, I order once a month, when I get paid and it's convenient for me! I pay when I order no muss, no fuss. If it ain't broke, why screw it up with a required subscription?
Although Clean Eatz isn't specifically Diabetic or Renal nutrition, it is clean, balanced nutrition, without a lot of added sodium, added sugar, chemical additives and a bunch of unpronounceable things I can't have. Plus it often has less carbs, sugar and sodium than other nutrition that is specifically targeted to Diabetics, so I'm good with Clean Eatz Kitchen. I just received my 9th monthly order and I'm still...
Read moreThis review will be so glowing that I need to say I was not compensated in any way lol. But supposedly leaving a review does qualify me for a gift card drawing. So, good luck to me. ;)
I ordered a box of meals to see if they would be suitable for my 90+ yo mother. To sample a wide variety without a huge freezer space commitment, we started with a 12-meal value box. Shipping was free so the cost worked out to a little over $7/meal. If you have enough space to store 30 or more meals, it looks like you can drive that down to around $6. In my town that's a lot less than a Big Mac meal and obviously much healthier!
Our value order arrived today. First thing I liked was what was not in the box - those awful gel freezer packs used by other meal services! Instead, Clean Eatz uses dry ice, which means only empty plastic bags that can go straight to recycling, and an insulation layer that can go with boxes for recycling.
I let them choose the meals and received 11 different meals in my first 12-meal value box. Exactly what I wanted so we could sample a wide variety before committing to larger quantities.
I've already tried one meal: Honey-Mustard Chicken with Broccoli and Potatoes. Aroma and taste were miles above any frozen meal from the grocery store. I can't say it was the most beautiful presentation overall, but this isn't something we plan to serve to guests.
I'm going to take some meals along when I visit Mom next week, see how she likes them, and show her the other options online.
I have tried at least 3 meal-prep services and found they were often too much time and trouble overall.
I could go on and on about the advantages of Clean Eatz - no subscription, meals suited to a variety of health goals, limited packaging, free shipping starts at a reasonable purchase level.
Even if Mom gives these a pass, my husband and I will be...
Read moreThe meals made by clean eatz are good for those people who are really trying to get healthier, convenient foods and able to track macros, if that's your thing. I didn't give it five stars because when I chose my 12 meals, a few of the meals that I chose were out of stock, and instead of giving me the option to choose what I would like as a substitution, the person who packed my box decided to give me nothing but meat lover pizza bowls. And although those taste good, how many times in one week does a person want pizza? For me, pizza is like a cheat meal that I do once a week just to keep me on track, not a daily thing. I was very...
