I wouldn't stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The front desk agent by the name of Chelsea needs to be promoted to Manager, QUICKLY. She is the ONLY staff that I can honestly say did her best to accommodate the guests and explain issues. She was amazing. Check in was quick and easy as well as booking the stay online. However, we got to our room and realized it was a second floor unit (we had no choice of rooms online as it was the only room left according to the site and it was labor day weekend plus we were evacuating Florida due to hurricane Dorian and not many options of other hotels) The layout and concept is nice but everything looks rundown/ill-maintained. There was an ant problem in our room, the phone wasn't connected to a phone line, there was food splattered on the wall and curtain in the living room, there were no spoons, the room was tidy but definitely could be cleaner. The steps to the upstairs bed were dangerously steep, the kitchen table was so wobbly I was afraid to put anything on it because when you touch it it would rock/shake. There were no sponges/dishcloths. There was a bug in the upstairs bathtub and the drain was broken and the floor was falling apart, the upstairs bed was really shaky and had a big dent in The middle, the upstairs lamp looked like it had been sat on, the ceiling fan shook and made a noise, the housekeeping didn't change sheets every morning, they just pulled the covers back up, they need to replace their towels (they're old and tattered and rough)they left trash outside our unit all day (one of the days) & when we returned in the early evening there were more ants crawling outside of the door and all over the trash, 2 days in a row the Continental breakfast was missing almost everything, they had a typed letter apologizing for being out of everything... Fruit, yogurt, meat, juice, milk, jelly/jam, muffins, creamer, sugar, etc etc we and other guests started bringing our own groceries from the room, the coffee was extremely bitter, the swimming pool was so cold that the kids were shivering in 90° weather so we went back to the room. In this location and for this price I definitely expected a much higher quality room and much better maintained ground. Both of the showers didn't drain properly. Taking only a 10 minute or less shower the water is up to your ankles within the first 2 minutes. The lids for the disposable coffee cups were much too large for the cup and the lids for the pots and pans didn't fit either so I had to cook with no lids. They need to take care of this place, it seems like no one cares that it's falling apart. The manager April told us she was giving us a credit for one night stay and at check out we still hadn't received it. We went to the office to receive a print out and obtain the credit to our card and instead were billed twice for the stay, and were talked to very disrespectfully by the front desk agent, we were told to shut up and got yelled at by her which is when we had the manager April called to the desk and called Ms Cade because of the way we were being treated and our account was being mishandled and almost missed our flight back to Florida. This was a disappointing experience and a shocking one. Find another hotel to go to, this one doesn't deliver.

Bring a major credit card. Cash not accepted. Bank cards (including those that can be ran as credit) are not accepted either. The manager refused to call his GM over concerns we voiced, despite my numerous requests for him to do so. Breakfast was subpar. The room had sticky food and drink leftovers on all the living room tables, red stains all over the carpet, busted lamp shades, rusted out tub, shower head falling out of the wall, and I could go on. Keep in mind, this was the PENTHOUSE suite. What. A. Joke. As a returning Hawthorne Suites customer, I am beyond dissatisfied. Also, don't bother calling the corporate office in New Jersey for support. All they do is take a complaint, and inform you their team will reach out to you in about a week. ***update*** No one from New Jersey (or anywhere else) has ever reached out to me about this fiasco.

My kids enjoyed staying here😁 it has a swimming pool and basketball court . It's more like an apt. complex then a hotel. Nevertheless, it was ok for us we were in and out most of the time just needed a place to sleep. There was some water damage on the kitchen floor and some marks on the wall but other than that it was fine for the rate🤷🏾‍♀️I didn't like the fact they offered breakfast online but they don't serve breakfast 🤦🏾‍♀️ The site needs to be updated.

Inadequate house rules at check-in. Carpets disgusting, room was filthy, stains all over my sheets. Management nor the front were any help, (When i could get ahold of them). Lots of miscommunication between us and most importantly they don’t care. If they get their money then that’s all they care about. They don’t care about the occupants or the status of their rooms. Check in is a single piece of paper that doesn’t specify all of their house rules. They just expect you to know all of them when you move in. And if you don’t know all of the house rules and violate one they’ll evict you, even though whatever you did wrong wasn’t specified in their house rules. AND there’s nothing about pets on the checkin paper work yet they charged me for a cat. ( literally no specification on how much it would cost at check in). The lady at the front just checked me in and didn’t say anything or specify any rules (She was a terrible employee and shouldn’t have been working the front desk with the customers because she didn’t know what she was doing) . Then there’s no breakfast, pool, or gym because they’re all shut down. This place has been taken over by new owners and management within the last year or 2 and it’s super clear to tell that they don’t care about the occupants. Only their money. This is a terrible place, filthy rooms, terrible management and staff, and terrible service. I would report them on other booking sites but you have to book through their app/website to be able to review. ANND to top it off the housekeepers are thieves. They stole a measly 20$ from me while I was at the bank getting the rent money. They went in to lock my room and when I got back in it was gone. I Definitely want that to be made aware of as well. The housekeepers are thieves and good luck trying to get it back because they can’t even speak English. It’s a bunch of migrants working there, and again the management and front desk weren’t any help. Definitely should look into this place for sure. It’s a scam and Im sure most of the staff they hire are migrants. Would be surprised if they’re legal. This place was so bad that anywhere I get the chance to leave a review for this place I will. There also getting another bad buissness bureau review. They’ve already got tons for being a crappy hotel. They’ll also be receiving a law suite and a report to the public health department about their filthy rooms. This place sucks alltogether and they’d be getting a 0 star if I could.BEWARE!! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. And if there not going to have the amenities they advertise online then the owner needs to update ALL of that ASAP. They still offer it all online through booking apps but it’s a lie. It’s all shut down. The new owners are the worst and don’t care about the customer. They need to update that and stop false...

I don’t know how other people rated this hotel so highly!!! I’ve never experienced such rude, discrimating, unhelpful, and ignorant staff to deal with. Making reservations first of all was almost impossible even after rooms were to be reserved for a reunion. Second of all I specifically asked if hotel had elevators when making reservations due to not being able to climb stairs or bare weight on my foot due to recent surgery and they assured me they did or would accommodate me. My boyfriend and I drove 10 hrs for his reunion and when we got there they explained check in wasn’t til 3 we were fine with that but when he asked if the room was on lower level because all he saw was stairs the girl at front desk stated “We have no elevator and said she couldn’t guarantee we would get lower level”. My boyfriend explained that if couldn’t get a level as promised we would have to cancel reservations and go somewhere else. The girl responded “Well I already canceled your reservations and you’re card was already changerged for the room “. My boyfriend then tried to tell her she couldn’t charge for a room that was not available. She then told him she was calling the police. Which she did and said T-shirt wanted us escorted off property. I had been in Carr for 10 hrs without going to bathroom and when asked if I could at least use bathroom before leaving she had police tell us she didn’t care if I could walk or not I wasn’t allowed inside. She would not disclose her name to pus or managers name. When I asked police to get her name do my credit card wasn’t charged for room she refused to give name until we left. Then we called wydam main number and when they tried to call her about situation she would not answer phone. Not impressed by customer contact by this individual. She kept referring to us as white people too. If I would have called her that black girl I would have been at fault so what makes it right for her to refer to us by color also. Big time Discrimination towards my skin color and being handicapped...
