Hey Comfort Inn management. Don't bother with your canned apology. It is meaningless. I can read apologies on other posts going back many months if not years. Obviously nothing is being done. Now on to the review.
I can overlook a few things in a budget motel. I'm used to the cheap coffee makers that produce "coffee-tea" instead of a standard cup of coffee. Fine. I bring instant that gets me to the coffee at breakfast.
The negatives continued to build with this stay. Some I could have overlooked but the one that put me over the top was the B.S. that started with COVID about cleaning the room and now seems to be standard operating procedure at hotels. Irritating but I can deal with it IF they actually do it. I booked a two night stay. At check-in I was told I have to request cleaning. The next morning, I went to the desk at 9:30 am and requested room cleaning for the day. They told me it can't be done. They told me I had to schedule it! What B.S. is this? When do I have to request it? They are telling me they don't have time to service the room. They have all day! NOW you have created an unhappy customer.
Other than the above-mentioned lack of customer service the quality of the room was unacceptable. Bathroom? No spare roll of T.P. No soap for the shower or basin. No dispenser for it. In the list of priorities, hand/face soap at the vanity trumps lotion. Shower Gel trumps shampoo.
Pre-checkin. I was emailed a message that said I qualified for a bonus or extra. Don't recall all the offers but it was extra points, gift card, etc. When I clicked on the link to select one, NOTHING. No way to pick whatever was being offered.
Huge, drab room with no decorations and stains on the carpet. No seating area. You have this oversized room yet there is nothing in it and what is there is crowded into the corner.
Bed? ONE NIGHTSTAND for a king bed? That means one person must place their items on the stained carpet. No lamp in case you want to read or get up. No place for you phone, watch, water, etc.
No way to unpack your luggage. Generally, you will have at least a luggage sling to hold the bag if not some piece of furniture. Not here. I am not somebody that will place a dirty suitcase on the bed so you end up placing your luggage on the floor and get on your knees to unpack it.
Power outlets? Just the ones on the lamp. Some do not work for all phone chargers unless you prop up the lamp.
Light switch? The obvious choice next to the door when you walk into the dark room does nothing. I assume it should be attached to a lamp that no longer exists.
Alarm clock? It was unplugged. When I connected the power, it was dead. Nobody checks if things work. Same with TV.
TV? It had some message that floated across the screen at various locations. My guess it that it was in some sort of demo mode and nobody bothered to turn it off.
Whirlpool? I've stayed at other brands with this feature and they include some amenity. Just some cheap bath salts. Not at Comfort. It's just a tub. Plus no place to put your towels except on the floor. Hooks! Add some hooks!
Parking? Bad. A single row near the door that was always full. Love the walk out to the huge lot in the cold and rain only to come to a door with NO card access.
Did this location have anything positive? Most of the staff were helpful and friendly, the exception being the person that told me no to cleaning the room. Breakfast team kept the area clean and stocked.
This location provided totally unacceptable customer service. I will NEVER stay at any Comfort Inn again. I am probably done with the Choice Hotel brand too. I'll use up my reward points and cancel my rewards membership. They have no consistent quality standards or control over...
Read moreI have never met a more rude or dismissive staff in my life. There is zero effort at any sort of customer service. Let's see the issues.... Got to the room & it looked nice but worn. 5 tiny pillows on a king bed (about the equivalent of 2 regular pillows). Went to desk to ask for more & the rudest hospitality worker in the world offered to bring me one later. I was there to sleep. Went back to the room & took a shower which didn't drain (well, very slowly) to the point I had to constantly turn off the water to let it drain so it wouldn't flood. Then, found no trash can in the room. I decided to call the front desk (didn't want to deal with her in person) but the phone didn't work. We left & went to our concert, to return at 1030. There was no parking anywhere close to the building. I asked the front desk where to park& was told the other side of the building (a VERY long walk) Once in our room, we find the smoke alarm beeping (low battery). I went to tell a different employee now (equally as rude & unhelpful). I had to avoid the cops in the hotel lobby dealing with an issue. When I told the desk guy about the smoke detector he actually said "you mean to tell me you can't sleep with that beeping". NO! Nobody can. And it's 3 feet above the bed. He said "we don't have any maintenance ". I asked if I could take the battery out as a solution. I tried to take the battery out but it was hard wired. Back to the lobby (can't phone... It's broke). Avoiding now more cops the desk guy offers to move me from my king bed to a room with two queen beds. I'm here for a romantic weekend and explained we booked a king bed for a reason. He then tried to convince me that 2 beds are better. This is while the cops are calling for backup for the lobby situation. I will say to his credit, he must have realized how rude he was being because he finally offered to give us a king room with a hot tub. The only bright spot of customer service. But of course we had to now move everything to the other side of the hotel at 11 at night (and no carts to help) while avoiding the police activity.
I'm writing this on the morning after my first of 2 booked nights. The breakfast is standard but to keep the theme rolling, the coffeemaker is broke so no coffee.
If the guy hadn't finally given us a room we could actually use, we would have left last night & found a different hotel. I would absolutely recommend you avoid this place like the plague. Rude staff, no parking, bad maintenance, lack of services...... but seriously.... Rudest staff I've ever met in my life. I genuinely felt like my treatment was related to my skin tone not matching that of the staff or the predominant clientele. I felt open hostility from the staff just by going to their desk with issues (I would have called but the phone didn't work).
It is nice to have a room with a hot tub but we are seriously discussing cancelling our second night and going somewhere else. This place is not only unwelcoming but the staff is flat out hostile.

Read moreThis location should be condemned! It reeked of marijuiana EVERYWHERE (room, halls, lobby). The room was dirty, the rugs were dirty, the lights were dim,the bathroom had caked dirt in the corners of the tub/shower, the TV wouldn't work, and when we tried calling front desk, the phone was dead-cord had been torn. Had to walk down to the desk and the young man behind the desk, said, "Oh, that's because you have the wrong remote!" WHAT?! Why would our room NOT have correct remote??? The next morning when I went to take a shower, the water only trickled out of the shower spout, yet filled the tub at the same time. We requested a move to another room as we still had two nights booked. The second room "appeared" cleaner" as well as the shower "appeared" to work when I turned it on....but in actuality, the water temperature gauge was broken and only ONE temperature came out - HOT! Was difficult to shower, to say the least, but we had plans and not time to make any other arrangements! In the meantime, the marijuana smell was making us sick to our stomach! Upon return to the hotel, we went out to the pool area for a quick relaxing swim, but was greeted by 1) an open gate to allow ANYONE to enter without having to use their room key and 2)what I can only describe as a "kiddie daycare" with approximately 20-30 very young children and their parents/grandparents neighbors- using all the loungers and covered areas on the pool deck. We decided to go to the gated pavillion area that had a table and chairs - which was FILTHY!! The table was dirty, the chair cushions were torn, worn and dirty - trash laying around and cigarette butts floating in a container full of water! AND of course - marjuiana smokers feet from us - which of course caused us to be overcome, once again with the sickening smell of weed! I paid $368 for our stay in what wasn't even as nice as a motel 6! I'm disgusted and angry, especially as platinum members that Choice has dropped to such a low. We will DEFINITELY NOT stay in this location again, nor will I be booking our travels...
