Like all the other reviews here, I cannot express how wonderful the Lee House Inn is. Even though it is still under renovation, the areas they have completed are amazing, so perfectly renovated with period appropriate pieces mingled with modern and simple touches that make this place simply fascinating. The rooms are not just rooms but living spaces complete with sleeping area lounging/eating area and full bathrooms. The beds or the most comfortable I've ever slept on. The balcony gave a beautiful view of the lighted bridge. The shared breakfast area was perfectly inviting. Like other guests commented, we were greeted as soon as we arrived, walked in and given a wonderful and very informative tour. Everyone we encountered was more than pleasant and helpful. From Amanda taking our reservation and promptly helping us with every question we had before and during our visit via text or phone, Missy preparing a delicious breakfast and sharing enjoyable conversation and Ann giving us so much history of the Lee House and Maysville and also sharing so many humorous stories of her labor of love in helping restore this amazing place. It is absolutely more than you can imagine. We had a room on the 3rd floor and didn't mind the stairs. I am anxious to see how the property evolves as renovations continue. Upon arriving, it is unclear where to park or where to enter, but Ann was waiting at the roadside to give us direction. You can tell that everyone involved with the Lee House is happy to go above and beyond to make your stay perfectly memorable. I can't wait to have an opportunity to return and stay longer...
Read moreMy sister and I planned a trip to Maysville KY because we were doing some genealogy on our Lee family. We decided to stay at the Lee House Inn as part of it was built by a great uncle of ours and it just seemed fitting to stay there as we were researching this family.|Making an online reservations was easy. The rooms for staying ar numbered and there is a picture of each. While we were on our way we got a call from Anne, the Inn Keeper and Missy, the cook! This was a first for us. Missy asked us if we wanted breakfast while we were there. So glad we said yes. It was the most delicious breakfast: delicious crammed eggs, bacon, homemade biscuits, gravy, a delicious pineapple pastry, a cream puff filled with strawberries and topped with a whipped cream, coffee, orange juice. Heather cleaned our room daily, helped with the final payment and helped carry our luggage upstairs (not in her job description!!!)|We had reserved a room online, not knowing it was on the fourth floor. Missy took one look at us and our luggage and suggested we get a room online the second floor. There uis no elevator within keeping of the time period. |Our last day, Ann, the innkeeper came after our breakfast and we talked history of the Inn.|If you wish to have a stay at a historical place where the rooms are all updated, get personal and friendly care from everyone who has ties to the Inn, I strongly recommend this Inn. We will be returning in the...
Read moreWe were on our way back home on a 10 day motorcycle trip in the UP and wanted somewhere fun to stay on our last night. We found the Lee House Inn on a Google search and reserved 3 rooms. We were greeted by the inn manager Ann who gave us a tour of this beautiful inn. It was a fascinating historical guest list and has been there for 250 years. The rooms are huge suites...bigger than my 1st apartment! All very modern but with period accurate furniture and decor. Ann is a gem, too and had us all intrigued with her knowledge of the inn's history and the history of Mayville (she should know it all...she's on city council!) Ann also directed us to O'Rourkes pub a block away. Great food and we had a ball. The owner of the inn, Paul, was on-site when we got back and offered to cook us breakfast in the morning. After a restful nights sleep we had a fantastic breakfast and very enjoyable conversation with Paul. He has done all the restoration work and is quite the craftsman. Everyone in our group feels like we made a friend for life in Paul...one of the nicest and most hospitable people I've ever met. Staying at the Lee House was a highlight of this trip. Maysville is a neat town with a lot of interesting shops and historical buildings. It's motorcycle friendly and set up for easy walks to everything. We can't...
