Beware of their sales office! I was initially interested in talking to someone about homes sales. No one was available when I came, so the receptionist asked me to fill out a card with my personal information to give to a sales person when they returned and they could call me and set up an appointment. I did. She asked if she could answer anything. So, I asked about their dog policy since I have a dog weighing 40 pounds. She told me weight limit was 20 pounds.
I then knew I was at the wrong place and kindly asked her for my personal information back since they now don't need it. She REFUSED TO RETURN MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. When I asked why, she would not give me any answer but that she has to have it. So I tried to grab it from her hand but she quickly moved her arm so I could not get my information back. She was really rude and told me that by the time you want to move here you may no longer have the dog. What a thing to say! Even if something happened to my dog (I hope not), I would now never buy in a Thesman property like Las Palmas Grand because I do not trust their sales tactics or motives since I could not get a straight answer about why they HAD to have my personal information. The only thing I can guess is that they want to collect as much personal info about people as they can so they can pester them with junk sales calls or junk email. Or even worse, perhaps they collect it to sell to others so they can do who knows what? Terrible...
Read moreWe visited Las Palmas Grand in August 2011. We came back in July 2018 looking for a retirement home. We looked at 15 different communities. Las Palmas Grand was the best by far. The community looks just as good as it did in 2011. The property is well maintained. They follow the rules that everyone acknowledges when they move in here by their own signature. It is everything we wanted and more. The residents are very friendly and helpful. The activities are great, in fact there are so many I had to start limiting what I was getting involved in. The community potluck dinners are fun and give you the opportunity to meet and socialize with a lot of people from all over the USA. They also have potluck dinners for people from specific areas, like we go to the one for people from East of the Mississippi. Line dancing classes, water aerobic classes, different crafts, billiards...all for free. We also have found the office staff to be helpful and pleasant. We are super happy we made the decision to move to Las Palmas Grand. No...
Read moreWhat a beautiful community! Lots to do, beautiful expansive grounds and many amenities. We went to visit a family member and spent some time by the pool and what impressed me most was how friendly people were. It seemed like a much more friendly, welcoming place than some 55+ communities. We had our young son with us and nobody shushed him at the pool for being an enthusiastic 6 year old. On the contrary, multiple adults had conversations with him and us as well. People seemed to be very...
