We recently returned from a very quick stay at Towerpoint. This was our first foray into the possibility of becoming Snowbirds! We chose Towerpoint based on the reviews, the location, as well as the size of the resort. We wanted someplace large enough that it wasn't like a gossip colony. :) We were very, very pleased with everything. Due to a death in the family we had to change our dates at the last minute but we were easily accommodated. On arrival, you are greeted at the gates and given instructions to check in. The ladies at reception are wonderful! You are given all the information and paperwork to help to "learn the ropes", as well as name tags indicating your names, dates of stay and where you are from. The rule at Towerpoint is that you are supposed to meet someone (or more!) every day. Our stay was from Oct. 26 to November 2nd. Once there, we learned that it's pretty quiet until November 1st. That certainly suited us! We enjoyed the peaceful time at the pool! Once the snowbirds arrive, the action starts! There is a wonderful bar / cantina where we were able to watch the Vancouver Canucks hockey (hubby was thrilled!) Even though they close early, we were welcome to stay and watch the game. The TV's are on 24 hours a day. There is one main clubhouse which has all the amenities. The fitness center is very well equipped. There are tons of activities (you can check the website), but we didn't participate as we were busy checking out the area. One of the best things is that the pools and hot tubs are open 24 hours a day! Not that we were up very late, as we were very busy, but it's nice to know there is an option for a late night soak. I loved the ladies' shower room and bathroom. There were 6 large showers with lots of space. Hubby said the mens' showers weren't as great. Honestly, most people shower in their own units. The majority of sites are park models, but we didn't feel out of place with our RV. The sites themselves are huge, as they are made to accommodate the park models. The pet area is wonderful. It's a large, grassy area in the corner of the resort. I found this resort to be clean, super friendly, and just the right size. Even though we are "young", we were welcomed by everyone. Also, I LOVED the music that was played by the pool all the time. Mostly 70's, easy going music that was just loud enough to hear, but you could still talk with others. The furniture around the patio was much nicer than we saw at other resorts, too. We are already looking forward to our next trip, and plan to stay much longer than a week! This is also located close to the Superstition Market (a MUST) and down from Fry's. ...

Read moreTowerpoint, a line of several properties owned/operated by CAl-Am properties here in Mesa AZ. You can experience many amenities like hot tubs, pools, fully staffed outdoor Bar and Grill and even the convenience of a US post office to name just a few. Your rate to stay gives you crafts, sewing, lapidary, silver smith, billiards and much more. There is a very attentive staff and an excellent activities department. The downside of TP are the narrow heavily used inner streets that are flanked by what looks like 3ft wide streets that is flush with the street allowing for some obstructive parking. Most owners of park models are over 65 and have bikes and golf carts. Most do not follow the laws of the road and have us on high alert for the possibility to be hit by one or to run them over. Very unsettling. The dog park is small, but you can get the job done and large dogs will find room to chase a ball. Tennis is huge here and other park residents come on bike and cars to play. Sites for rv'rs are mostly a great size, gravel to park rig, cement pad for patio. Wifi may be free, but unless you have a clear unobstructed range, you will tear your hair out. On the downside for workampers....some were unexpectedly laid off for half the season. So driving all the way from who knows where was a big expense. When you throw in the fact that winter season is pricy everywhere or unattainable, you see why this will be passed along to other great work camper staff to be warned. The whole work camper staffing rules for staying will be changing and can change during your stay. Just sayin. Pricing will have to be done on your own, but we paid a special early winter price (monthly) that was decent and then it went to over $700 in January. I do not know weekly or daily rates. We didn't hate it here, but staying the whole season...
