This place gets 2 stars due to the kind, and as helpful as can be, staff. Room 1- king bed. Checked-in and upon entering there was a musty and stinky smell. Tiled floor area was dirty, shoe prints were visible. Crumbs, dirt, whatever, was all over the carpeted areas. No desk chair. Sink drain stopper was stuck, and handprints were all over the headboard. So gross. I called to let the front desk know, and the phone didn't work. Was kindly moved to an alternate room. 2 queen beds. Musty but not as bad as room 1. Floors were possibly cleaned but I wiped up something that took little effort so it clearly wasn't cleaned well, if at all. No drain stopper in this sink. Hardly any water pressure in shower. Cobwebs in the corners, a little spider in the window, lumpy pillows, stained bed spreads, no desk chair, broken drawer that stayed open, 3 hangers, a leaking fridge with duck taped holders on the door, a microwave with its front panel missing, and hair thst wasnt mine in the sink and shower rounded out the stay. I stayed because I really didn't have a choice, and I didn't say anything because if both rooms were that bad, I figured it's the level they are fine with, and I really didn't have the energy. Breakfast... egg thing with cheese, not too bad, but no condiments for it. No other hot food except the make your own waffle and oatmeal packets you could add hot water to. Muffins, toast, and bagels one day. One day there was no caffienated coffee. Location is close to highway, liquor store, convenience store, grocery store, other stores, restaurants, and gas stations. Due to the convenient location for my needs in a situation, I will probably be staying there again but I will bring my own sheets and cleaning items. I also won't...
Read moreThe staff was fairly friendly and amenable but the room.... It was as if Charlie Sheen and his buddies had partied in it. Broken drawer handles (not repaired), bathroom door had been kicked and instead of replacing the door, wood putty was smeared into the area around the latchbold and knob, the fridge was not plugged in and stank inside, the comfy chair in the corner was missing a leg, the fire sprinkler head in the bathroom had clear plastic wadded around it (I assume to prevent it from going off when freebasing in there), there was a plastic bag sticking out between the mattress and box spring containing a 9 volt battery and a chopped off electrical connector indicating that housekeeping had not changed the fitted sheet and the worst part was that we were told in no uncertain terms that it was a non smoking room yet it stank of cigarette smoke and God-know-what else. I would have asked to change to another room but I was told that it was their last room, we were tired and it was late. I paid over $220 for a night in this room (#228) and that was with my AAA discount and a Choice Hotels Gold Membership.
Edit:
Management states that this is not a common occurrence. I beg to differ. Reading other reviews, it seems that it is indeed a common occurrence. The rooms have been used by "party animals" and repaired in a slipshod manner. Apparently this hotel is a former Days Inn and little was done during the conversion other than to change the sign and renovate the lobby. It needs a total renovation. They are charging top rate for cut-rate, "flop...
Read moreI don't usually write reviews, but I am writing this so that others can be aware because I wish I was. Came here for a quick weekend stay with family. The entire building reeked of cigarette smoke and we waited about 10mins for someone to finally come and assist us. The lobby was not the most clean or welcoming, no signage to direct where you must go, and overall the place seemed shady. We still wanted give them a chance and see the rooms before giving up. Bad idea, the room was no better. The experience was so horrible upon entry that we walked right out and booked at the Hampton Inn. Could not bare to stay another second. The room had a horrible smell of I don't know what, seeming like it hadn't been cleaned in days, insects roaming around, a broken drawer, a stained mini fridge, and bedding. It made you feel dirty soon as you walked in. Didn't even last 3 minutes in there. I understand getting what you paid for, but a place can be affordable and clean or presentable at the same time. Cheap does not equate to dirty. Cool for one night I guess if you have absolutely no other option, but I don't even recommend this place enough for that. Not worth it and definitely not worth the $100 deposit either. If I could give zero...
